  3. After getting sucked in to assisting in another GTR engine in job on a gtr yesterday I can confidently say, A. I dont friggin like gtr's B. I dont friggin want a gtr C. I no longer even respect gtr's Matter of fact if I got my shirt sleeve caught in the door of a gtr I would chew my arm off the get away from the pos. Any body prepared to pay the price of pain involved in owning and working on a gtr is about as sane as a monkey on meth. SO HOW COME I KEEP GETTING ROPED IN TO WORKING ON THE USELESS DAMN THINGS.

  6. My home workshop jack is a western tools number . It isnt low by any standard. about 150 mil high but it does lift to a full 80cm height. It rox the schizz for getting the line up off the ground with more than enough room to skate around under the car without feeling clausto. Rated to 1800 kilo too. Another point to remember if you do purchase one of these higher lift style jacks is that you will also need bigger stronger jack stands to take advantage of them. Like most on here i wont get under a car supported by a jack only so its pointless having a mega lift jack and short jack stands.

  8. I dont know about the series 2 but the series 1 definitely had the ALSD option, Both my mate's car and mine are fitted with it.

  13. Wasnt it tho Russ. I couldnt believe how quickly that cement mixer he had for a turbo would spool. The 34 is probably the quickest accelerating car I have seen outside a drag strip. That car is just brutal.
  14. X2.... these guys race on the ragged edge. maybe the old skool boiz havnt seen it before. It leaves a shitty taste in my mouth that some Klutz can not or has not seen the time attack brigade in action before. Their safety record is up there with the best and so are their skills. The cars are immaculately prepared and race ready. The organisers werent afraid to ask plenty for the privelage of doing 3 lap sprint sessions either. Maybe they only want the conservative old school brigade involved in their parade. Well Tuff buns. The skyline brigade showed you what hardcore nissans are capable of. Get used to it or take your marbles and play by yourself.

  16. Seriously Nod, I dont think Mike has ever clutch kicked the car as long as he's owned it. Getting on and off the loud pedal may sound like its being clutch kicked but i doubt it was. He drives way more radical than that at qr and is always a crowd pleaser. He is also big and ugly enough to defend himself too so I'll say no more other than the boys had way more sidewas action going in the 34 than mikie ever did.
  17. Great day. Poor showing by the skyline community tho. Only a handfull amid a myriad of Z's and datto 1600's etc. Mikie was tearin it up till officialdom declared him a drifter and shut him down. Dickheads! Russ and mark kept us entertained along with Noddy and V8ETA. I do not ever weant to try and modify a Z. Gawd those things are a slug. They must weigh about the same as a b double. A couple of quick examples there but not in the same street as the hot lines. All in all a very enjoyable day.

  20. That my friend is timing detonation. If you rebuild the same or similar setup use a thicker head gasket and get your cr down around 8.5 to 1. My engine initially ran this cr and begged for more timing right up to around 25 degree. Spat a welsh plug and warped the head slightly so we faced it and reassembled using the same thickness gasket which took cr to around 9 to 1 and the engine was knocking stupid at 15/16 degrees. Replaced the gasket with a thicker one to get compression back to where it was and problem solved. I was surprised at how much timing adjustment was required to prevent detonation going from 8.5 to 9 to 1 cr.

  22. To each his own. I sat in as many seats as i possibly could for about 6 months. The first time i hopped in the sparco evo 2 I knew it was my seat. What fits one may not suit another, Just keep trying them till you find the one that suits you.
  23. buy a car from the classifieds already built. Bit like 3lit332's response tho. be prepared to shell out for a new engine. the last 2 guys that bought supposedly "built" cars up here barely got out the driveway before they shit themselves.
