  1. don't know exactly how long it will last just sitting there, but i do know it would last a hell of a lot longer than if you left it connected to prove this point, when i was doing some product training on one of the cars we cover the other night (Ferrari F430) they pointed out that this model has a battery isolator switch, which you turn to off if you go on holidays etc, this will stop the battery going flat while you're gone...
  2. if you are a member of www.offtopic.com, head over to their "That'll buff right out" section and have a read of some of the product reviews the guys there give (There are a fair few professional detailers in that forum, who do FANTASTIC work... main one is ScottWax)
  3. oh, and i'll tell you the same thing that i tell my customers... if the vehicle is jumpstarted, you need to drive the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes at highway speeds (or at higher revs, anyway) to put some charge back into the battery. Leaving it idling in your driveway will NOT charge the battery
  4. the batteries in most modern cars will die if you don't drive them for approx 2 to 3 weeks... the onboard computer modules etc constantly draw a small supply from the battery, and over time that drains it. I work in a roadside assistance callcentre as a job, and you would not believe how many people call up and wonder why their battery is dead after going on a 3 week holiday etc...
  5. i had a black R32 GTR that i did... sprayed it in a black, with metallic finish to it... turned out fantastic! its in parts at the moment though, as i bumped it and knocked it off the cupboard and it smashed might do another one if i ever get the time...
  6. i use it... its good... however, there are much better products out there for similar prices
  7. yeah, like u guys say, nothing new.... i remember going to anzac avenue when i was in year 11 in highschool (about 6 years ago now) and sitting outside brisbane carsound/maccas and watching people doing laps or racing from the lights there etc... there were some tough cars around back then *sighs*
  8. someone clarify this as its a bit ambiguous in the text above... how many drivers are needed per car? from what i can glean from the text, its a minimum of 2, and a maximum of 4 drivers per car? or is it a minimum of 2 drivers per team (of 1 car) or up to 4 drivers for a four car team? i.e. 1 car 2 drivers 1 car 3 drivers 1 car 4 drivers or 2 cars 2 drivers 2 cars 3 drivers 2 cars 4 drivers or 3 cars 3 drivers 3 cars 4 drivers or 4 cars 4 drivers The wording of the above article is very ambiguous..... 'coz i can tell you now, that if you are racing 4 cars, with 4 drivers, for 500km, you're going to be barely able to walk by the end of it you will be exhausted.... have you ever seen what the drivers look like after they get out of the v8 supercars after a stint at the sandown 500 or the qld 500, or bathurst etc? they're rooted! and these guys are trained to do this day in and day out....
  9. just spotted Chris? (sorry mate, i'm shocking with names :S) with the dark Green R33 sedan heading inbound on Gympie road at carseldine
  10. yeah, its no big news that people race in morayfield and redcliffe, but some of the information and 'facts' that the 'reporter' (i prefer to think of them as storytellers...) of this story has come up with are utter crap... grrrr... makes my blood boil. in the story, they made reference to cars 'lapping' in morayfield as if it was the end of the world or something?!?!?! No mention of anything illegal or anything, just driving around....!!?!?!?!?!?! I mean, ffs!!!!
  11. Hey... Interested in being a driver if you need one (not sure if you've already got drivers for the cars or not...)
  12. That story is from Brisbane, not Sydney... was on the front page of yesterdays Sunday Mail.... goddamn they make up and sensationalise alot of crap in the papers! but i'm sure they refer to it as 'stretching the truth' or something
  13. spotted 4 seperate skylines on the way down the coast last night.... 3 of those were tryhards in R32 GTS-t's who wanted to race... if you guys are on here, grow up.... why would i: a) Risk losing my car for streetracing (Like one of you could possibly have done if you kept into it for a few more seconds, seeing as there was an undercover car on the side of the road up ahead) b) Waste my petrol - i know i'm going to annihilate you, so why bother? c) Risk damaging my car - air was cold, car was tuned in 30 degree heat, so would be running lean with the 20 degree air last night d) Whats the point of streetracing anyway? Take it to a track, morons oh, and there was also some chick in a riced up late model lancer who wanted a go
  14. haha, yeah, my horn is this little girly thing everyone who hears it calls it the 'polite horn' as if its 'politely' asking the cars to get out of the way, or politely asking them to wake up and stop swerving into your lane.... i need a horn that says "GET DA FARK OUTTA DA WAY, BIATCH!!!"
  15. Col... *BEEP BEEP!* whatchu mean nobody ever sees you?
  16. yes, the cars are cheaper, you don't get hassled every time you go see a car, and you're right... the chances of buying a lemon off an importer that paid bugger all for it are greatly reduced... however youare chancing buying a lemon off a private owner with absolutely no avenue for recourse should something go wrong with the veh/turn out to be a lemon... it was more a convenience thing anyway... we decided at the spur of the moment to go looking at cars, i figured car yards were the best way to go about it due to the tight timeframe...
  17. lmao, no worries only thing is, it would: a) get left behind b) probably die some horrible mechanical death at some stage of the 500km c) not leave my garage however, i offered to drive as i feel i could contribute to a team winning/getting up there in the rankings as i'm not a 'completely' crap driver
  18. if anyone needs a driver, i'm up for it
  19. thanks for the suggestions so far, keep them coming! AJM have moved to Woodridge somewhere, so i might give them a miss.... i'm mainly looking for MR2's, GT4's, FTO's etc etc
  20. Need to know a list of import yards in Brisbane within the next 30 minutes. going car shopping.... i know of: Brisbane Streetmachines AutoShop Also know of MJP? At southport... though its a bit far for me to go today... anyone know of any others? going car shopping for my little brother
  21. spotted ZE200 R33 last night in the city... looks nice! and i've seen u in the R33 a few times Col
  22. i had to work oh well, maybe next time
  23. god i'm so sick of people thinking that any car over 70,000km is going to be a thrashed out piece of crap... My R32 GTS-t has 194,000km on it... its still running fine with only a few things having failed, such as a turbo and a fuel pump (touch wood) Friend of mine had a Mazda MX6 Turbo.. that thing had close to 300,000km on it, and that thing went hard! My brothers Mazda RX7 has 250,000km on it and there's nothing majorly wrong with it My brothers old Toyota sprinter had 350,000km on it, and the only thing wrong with it is low compression on one cylinder... sensing a trend here? you can go buy a 'low km' vehicle if it makes you feel good about yourself... i can pretty much guarantee you that its done two, or maybe even 3 times what the odometer says though... judge a car on the condition of it... not the km's i've seen 1989 15 year old import rule shitters that come in with like 70 or 80,000km yet they look like they've just gone 10 rounds with Mohammed Ali, compared to some higher km vehicles, such as mine, that are looked after, and maintained, and constantly get people commenting on how good condition it is etc.
  24. would you consider selling calipers and discs seperately? pics?
  25. dude, if you think 326's are good, have you driven on any half-decent tyres? (not trying to have a go at you, just curious)
