  1. PS: Ive actually had Petit come out to my house when there was a BBQ because there was too much noise. Several modified imports sitting out the front. But everyone was drunk and noone was driving so he didnt even bother. Lucky for us.
  2. Petit got my mate for the FMIC pipping in his S15 the same way. He got quoted quite alot to get it fixed and to get the engineers cert. To be honest mate, if you live in the area, petit is on any import cars ass, and he researches his stuff so he knows whats dodgey. I grew up in that area, and youll be lucky to get away with anything even slightly borderline. Sell the car and get a R32 GTST. Or return it to stock. Even then you will still have power to weight issues and the fines can go up to $1k now from memory, so not worth it.
  3. Yeah, I bought my ticket on the off chance I can buy myself a GTR for christmas If I actually win the lottery and can buy msyelf a GTR, ill donate my 33 gtst to SAU for a raffle or something
  4. Looks like ill be there with my mates. Who else is turning up?
  5. I used Imperial Finish Body Works. They are on Centre RD, right near the intersection with princess hwy and springvale rd. When I hit a fire hydrant and had some fairly bad damage to my front right quarter, they did excellent work. Was really happy with the work. My mate also had work done there on his R32 GTR when he was rear ended badly. His whole boot, rear bumper, etc was bad and it looked brand new when done. No problem recommending them. # Imperial Finish Body Works # 1652 Centre Rd Springvale 3171 # (03) 9547 8111 PS: Dont know how good he is on pricing as it was an insurance job, but his work is worth it. And my sig photo is the car after repairs, the front right.
  6. I got done doing 120 in an 80 zone when I was in the first year of my P's. Stupid now that I think of it. Either way, the cop let me off easy for first offence and gave me a one month suspension. However when they re-issued my license, the date which my probationary license ended was extended for 6 months. No alcohol involved, no other cars, no accident, just the speeding. This was about 6 years ago.
  7. Suspension of P plates adds another 6 months to the total time for your P's. My probationary license was suspended for 1 month and when I got it and it added 6 months onto the total time on my P's.
  8. Photoshop? LOL Download graphic convertor, should do the trick. www.versiontracker.com
  9. I would go for the 34. Power difference isnt huge and you cant pump up the power for the next couple years without getting into problems with the police. Its newer, so chances are it will most likely be in better condition and it will cost you less in maintenance over the next few years. You dont wont expensive repairs when youre young and have your first car.
  10. Thanks for the feedback, its something ive been wanting to do for a while. I cant do it this time round but I am interested in the future. More that I want to learn to control my car better. When it kicks out I can correct it in some occurances, but I want to get better at that and the public streets arent the place to practice. A track day would be ideal to practice control in some faster situations. I understand what you mean now by the whole 80% being the drivers ability rather than the cars ability. Im sure many SAU members would drive my car 10 times better than I can.
  11. I work on Bourke st myself. Saw all the firetrucks and police cars going past, didnt know what was happening until I saw this post. Hope everyones okay.
  12. Yeah the 90 odd db rule would screw me over too. So my speedo goes up to 180 and I havent had the stock ecu changed so its pretty much capped around there, so 80% of that is about 144. So basically couldnt go above 150 on the track at all. That will make bugger all difference if I have a GTR thats got an aftermarket ecu up my ass, as their 80% will be alot more than mine. Either way, I know that their thinking is mainly for safety, but they should focus more on safe overtaking. Considering the power difference there could potentially be with the cars, it could be safer if some of the slower cars were travelling faster than their 80% and the higher powered cars were travelling less than 80%. Ah well.
  13. People should have to sit an IQ test and a mental stability test before being able to get a gun. How many people have been killed because someone is just fkd in the head.
  14. Google Image search ftw
  15. Went past a booze bus during the week and the line was full, so the officer waving people in motioned for me to move on. Another cop on the side actually doing the testing saw my car and started pointing at my car and yelling at the other cop for letting me pass despite there being no room in the line for me. Some cops are fine whereas others purposely target skylines for the sake of it. I wasnt approaching the bus fast and my car looks almost stock on the outside (exhaust and rims). Its cops like the dickhead doing the testing that really piss me off, cause he had no reason why I should be pulled over any other car, except for the fact I was in a skyline. Not on P's either.
  16. That was in a magazine I got today. Was really intrigued by it. Looks like an amazing car, would be a dream to have the only one in the world, very lucky guy. There was also pics of the NSW track day and the Vic president as well
  17. Haha, love it
  18. +1 for the white one or bigbirds car
  19. I got EPA'd earlier this year. Pulled up next to me at a maccas carpark and asked me to pop the hood. Saw the BOV and boost tap and said they were illegal and that ill get a letter from the EPA. Got the letter and called a testing centre and asked what things they were testing. He asked for the letter at the end of my referenbce number. I informed him it was 'T' (if i remember correctly), and he said all they will check is exhaust noise, and nothing under the bonnett. He said if it was an 'N' (once again if memory serves me right) then he would look for items like BOV's, boost taps, ecu's, etc; basically anything that can effect exhaust and emmisions. Went there and my exhaust was too loud. Luckily there is a flange near the rear of my exhaust, so I had a new muffler/tip put together to make it legal. Chokes the hell out of the engine, drops performance and sounds crap but its legal. And because of the flange I can swap it over with my old canon whenever I need performance (eg: track day, drags, etc). It only takes 10 minutes to jack the car and bolt on the different muffler. Something to keep in mind. And as far as intake mods, you can have one aftermarket intake (pod filter, or intercooler), just not both (from what ive read on these forums multiple times). So I would recommend getting the stock airbox in as a FMIC is a little harder to remove.
  20. Just around the corner from where I live in BH. Before I was even living in this area there has been stabbings ive been aware of near here. Too many 'wanna be thugs/gansters'. I dont think the death penalty is really necessary. But I do believe a proper life sentance is required. EG: you kill someone willfully, you literally spend the rest of your life in prison until you die an old man. Or at least take away the early release for good behaviour and make a life sentance 40 years rather than 25. Something where there whole life is wasted for what they did. Getting out after 10 years for killing someone really is a joke.
  21. Would like to see what mine makes just out of curiosity. GTST with exhaust and boost tap to make it run bout 9 pound. BTW, I have no idea of the difference between pound, psi, bar, etc. And am not sure that im using the correct term. I think the car runs 7 pound/psi/whatever as stock and now its on 9. But im guessing around the 150 mark atw considering no front mount at all.
  22. I wont be making the cruise due to lack of funds and beiung forces into babysitting. Sorry guys, ill let you know if it changes.
  23. Dont go to TTF. Look at threads for spacers to see why.
  24. Been burnt by them too. See the thread on wheel spacers. Avoid them is my advice.
  25. Okay, I want to get this fixed. Obviously I need a bolt on spacer from what has been said? Where can I get these, what price would I be looking at? And most importantly, who should I go to that is trustworthy to get these fitted? Or is it pretty straight forward so I could do it myself? Thanks in advance, DK
