  1. il get an oil pressure test done first then go from there. i actually think the reasons for my hiflows dying is due to modifying the stock bov. wayyy to much compressor surge even on light throttle. comp wheel blew outwards towards the afm... for the time being im going to run a standard turbo so i can just get my car on the road and run 11 psi or so. well see how that one goes for now

  3. garrett gt3076r with .63 rear. this is why im after advice on its potential. how many are there? im getting it from rotomaster. so i guess it would be a genuine 3076r
  4. reason why i want the 3076r is due to me wanting to run lower boost levels to achieve the power, and not limit myself. plus ive read the 3076 dosent come on boost as hard. which is what id want. just after the opinions of this particular turbo only.

  7. looking to buy this turbo as i once again blown another hiflowed turbo. the power figure im looking for would be about 270-280 rwk. im not a fan of huge boost and wouldnt want to go past the 16-17 psi mark. What combo would i need in terms of a/r, housings would i need to achieve this. i have all the supporting mods also. car is a r33 gtst. internally standard also. when does it make full boost also. Im also looking into a gt3540 but is it over kill for what im chasing. can i use factory dump also? this is my setup so far internally stock rb25det pfc z32afm hiflowed turbo (now busted) full 3in exhaust blitz fmic 600cc injectors tomei intank fuel pump cushioned button exedy clutch future mods power goal :270rwk minimum splitfire coil packs gt3076r? better bov and which one in plumback??? need advice need some solid advice. thanks in advance

  13. yeah man. another one. i think its due to constant compressor surge. even when i back off on light throttle i get it. at high rpm i dont get a woosh from the bov. all i get is high pitched compressor surge maybe its due to squashing my stock bov and putting a fan screw in the bleeder of it. oil pressure seems fine. when i boot it goes to about 5. cruising about 4

  19. got the problem fixed. leak in the boost controller fitting. we reached 14 psi by redline. tuner said i need a ebc to hold more boost in future. result 221.5rwk on 14 psi. on 11.7-1 a/f ratio. nice n safe
  20. car will not hold boost at all. we tried ramping it up to 20psi but still drops down to 13 psi. damn this car. these are the turbo specs i got from mtq Exhaust side .63 a/r 51.00mm exd. Comp side. .60 a/r 55.4mm ind. preload was set to 2 holes also!!! wtf is going on
  21. i think your right. cause it drops very slow then gets stable at 12psi at around 6000rpm. il just leave it the way it is for now until i get retuned.
  22. ive got a hdi boost controller in it now but i have to get it retuned so i can up the boost more. i just dont get it. its a hiflow. how come its droppin boost so much even though the preload is set at nearly 2 holes. grrrrrrrr
  23. it spikes to 15 with the rod ajusted to 1.8 holes then comes back down to 12psi. if i tighten it more should the spike be lower and it will hold say 13-14 psi? but dosent shortening the rod kill the turbo also? shouldnt the boost controller do the rest? or is the reason why its spiking is because i need to tighten more? confused
  24. After popular demand i thought id post another west meet thread. not a specific date but it will be every tuesdays. next one will be this tuesday 22/4 and so on from there. Any small cruises/events will be discussed on the night if we decide to go anywhere. location : watergardens safeway carpark ( rooftop) @ 7:30pm if we are not allowed to get into there for any reason the backup meet point will be the carpark near the train station (where clark rubber/ fantastic furniture are).
