  1. Just paint the clutch fan black, i did and i hardly notice it. Whats this cherry fuel addative you speak of?
  2. Its actually both. Thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Don't twist my words. I can tell you know a decent amount of engineering principles, as do I. Your example is completely different to what we are talking about and im not going to waste pages of typing explaining it when i know you know the difference between open extractors on a race built engine and the examples we are talking about here referring to the diameter of an exhaust over a long length where the gasses have to travel a long distance.
  3. Ah ok sweet. Really didn't want to take the timing belt off just to change the backing plate haha.
  4. You guys are going into very complex thermodynamics and the "perfect" size of an exhaust for the given job. Yes to small not good, to big not good. However lets save that for another discussion. You guys are both right in a way, however that aint the topic of this thread.
  5. Looks fantastic Dave! I'm going to have to cut the hole for the VCT on the cam gear cover aswell, yours turned out better than i thought. Did you retain the RB25 backing plate or did you use a RB26 one?

Yeah im pretty sure its 100kg Australia wide, however they do make exceptions depending on how much over you are.
  7. Not a chance. 350Z would easily pull away from the surpa and the 370Z even more so.
  8. Comment from that youtube link you posted "how the f*k did u pull that time man seriously i pulled a 16.8 with my gts4 consistant id love to pull 14's any one know of any mods i can do to get it to run lower times."
  9. Umm the point of them talking about a V6 is because its the largest engine you can drive on your P's. Obviously a V8 commodore will beat a magna, that aint the point.
  10. Very nice man!!
  11. I would say a good driver getting off the line well would be a mid 16. They only have 90 odd kw@wheels, a lot of weight and a small displacement engine with bugger all torque throughout the rev range. Can't expect much unfortunately.
  12. A VT V6 Commodore is rated at 147kw and is rated at running 16.3 second quarters from factory in new condition. Plenty of them do low 17's, high 16's. A R33 GTS4 is rated at 140kw when new and am pretty sure it weighs more than a V6 Commodore. Seen plenty of NA R33's do 16 second passes. (Hell a stock GTST with a shit launch and wheel spin will do a mid 15 second pass). I've driven plenty of V6 Commodores and a couple of NA Skylines. I doubt there is much different between them and after having a few quick reads on the net most people seem to think they are about even in a quarter. So again, this is a G-tech, it aint 100% accurate. The OP said it was around 18 seconds. So in reality at a drag strip it could be a 17 something in the same conditions. What those conditions are we do not know, they may not have been perfect.
  13. Well considering NA R33's do quarters in 16-17 second times. A heavier GTS4 that is harder to get off the line with a G-tech telling it did an 18 second pass sounds completely normal. Bad launch, not perfect accuracy G-tech and hello 18 second pass. Honestly i don't see why this is so suprising
  14. Thanks a lot Dave, love your car aswell PSI parts for the diffuser mate.
  15. I don't understand why no one has said the obvious. As if you can say the G-tech is giving perfect readings. Say it was 1.0-1.5 seconds out (very likely), 0-400m in 17-16.5 seconds. For the worst power/weight ratio Skyline made my nissan (comparing R32/R33/R34) and add to the fact it is old and worn and you probably are having difficulty getting it off the line being AWD with no power, i don't see why so many people are questioning the times...

    Skydiving

Honestly i would recommend it to everyone. The feeling is undescribable and the memory will last a life time. Definetely would like to do it again some day, might even do the solo if i have the balls. Scuba diving at the reef is the next thing to mark off my list.
  17. I did mine with a heatproof engine enamal silver as a base coat. Then did the colour of my choice and then covered it with a heatproof clear. No dramas what so ever. Did my old RB25 covers like this and my RB26 covers.

Yeah our view was awesome at 14,000ft aswell. I can't believe you still jumped after that, no way in hell i would have lol.

We went for my birthday last month at Mission Beach north of Townsville QLD. Ment to be the best jump site in Aus because you can see the entire reef and coastline. Ash if it wasn't the rush you were expecting you must have balls of steel! I thought it was insane!

    Autobarn

Since i worked at Autobarn i can comment on this. Autobarn deals mainly with Gates and Dayco belts and they hardly list any imports in their catalogues (had enough drama getting the right part numbers for my belts when i did them). So if they had no listing for the car it would have been quite difficult for them even if they got told all the vehicle details. Then when you went in and brought in the belts, it was obviously easy for them to get the belts.
  21. Ahh fair enough. Mine is inside the intake pipe just after the filter inside of the airbox. Saw quite a bit of a difference in temps pre and post airbox install. Gonna route a cold air pipe from the front bar into the box aswell and see what that does.
  22. Haha!
  23. Yeah i've heard good things about the High Energy sumps aswell.
  24. Haha yeah i know what you mean. They were doing some photos to advertise their business and got a couple of cars together for it.
  25. Let me know when you receive them, will send them out first thing Monday morning
