  1. dont forget though its not all about power. the fastest silvia around lakeside has 275kw. i would just tune it to whats usable and safe. have fun.
  2. my acl forged pistons that are 20thou over for my rb25 say 4thou clearance max. any bigger and you bound to get some slap right?
  3. my mate with the 25 s14 was tuned by 101 in brisbane so not to sure what dyno but the car was used for drift. i think he ended up spinning a bearing. mind you he rebuilt it back to standard and untill he parted the car it was going strong for over a year. dont be so abrasive. you sound like a wanker.
  4. my mate touched 400rwhp in his s14 rb25 with 044 pump, greedy plenum and 3037. stock motor but obviously injectors etc.
  5. yeah dude that was a good read. i met andy and his missus last year at d1sl nikko. went to the mountains that night with them. good people.
  6. would you consider not running an air filter?
  7. when i bought it many years ago the guy showed me the pic of it in a garret book. what i will do because im sick of spending money (i just wanna drive it) is tune etc and post up how it goes. i guess thats the only way were going to know what its going to do. if the turbo is a massive drama i will move it on and find a better replacment. not to keen on choppin and changing this one if i can get a more ideal option straight of of a box. thanks for your replies guys.
  8. that makes me excited. ok so a bigger rear and the anti surge front on my current turbo would be a better option than the 3037 and 3076? how come more people dont use this then?
  9. man its taken me so long to get to this point. when i get over this im plan to buy a plazmaman and a 6 boost and i was tossing up between finding a 3037 and the garret equilivent. cams aswell. so i guess i should expect no more than 280kw. no drama.
  10. well 280kw is fine haha. good tip on the extra length for the lines.
  11. well im in brisbane and i enjoy drifting. there is QR and i can compensate power for just going faster. the other tracks here are just 2nd gear. so response is handy. i also wanna get into time work. Lakeside looks small enough for a responsive setup to be effective. as for the engine my builder thinks the bottom end will handle more than what the turbo can offer but i will have to some extra to the head. manifolds and such. 300rwkw should be alot of fun. be better then the 180hp my pathetic r20 has to offer.
  12. external gate and on standard manifold. i have ahks adapter with a hks 40mm gate. no anti surge. i bought it when i knew nothing about this sort of stuff and these guys saw me coming for a few different things. will have a look in that thread now. cheers.
  13. ok i bought this turbo a few years ago from a shop who was "helping me out". it was originally going on a rb20 but i have since canned that idea and bought a rb25. any way its taken ages to get the motor all done and now im at the stage of actually puting it in the car. the motor itself has a forged and balanced bottom end. any way i have looked at the dyno thread for rb25s and i have also looked around but i cant realy find to much other than this turbo is definatly not my best option. shit hey. what i wanna know is what power am i capable of making with this turbo with a .63 rear on it. if this has been covered then my bad and please point me in the right direction. however not many people use this apparently. cheers, Steve.
  14. how are you going to adjust it if its hidden
  15. more often than not though a 2nd hand crank will have wear from the gaskets etc. so check yours. if it has grooves in it then put the coller on.
  16. 80mm collar from a bearings supply place for $60 and you tap it on with supplied fitting and then cut off the lip. David Chilton told me to do this.
  17. why would you not bother. the car is very capable. at the top of singapore and NZ. u hatin cause its a commo? at least its fresh in terms of a good drift car.
  18. thats fanga dan from nz. he has been drifting a rb26 power commo for a while now. kills it too. he wanted to use the v8 but had a 26 or somthing along those lines and could not get enough sponsership at the time to do the v8 thing. combo seems to work very well.
  19. mate of mine has a 3076 .63 on a 25 in a ceffy. its on a 6 boost and the gate is over 40mm. he had a 40mm but it was too restrictive or something along those lines. car made 360ish hp but he dropped it to 340hp. no trouble on the local go kart track and no drama at QR. if that helps your decision.
