    Fire Works

Just in case you didn't get that, fireworks are illegal in Australia, even flares that used to come in Skylines to put out on the road to let others know there has been an accident up ahead.
  2. Exactly, maybe they should get rid of the first home buyer's grant and put it towards first car buyer's. Of course, they can have their restrictions (ie. cannot buy a Ferrari as a first car) and whatnot, but for those who just want to buy a Corolla or Prius it would be perfect. After all, how many statistics are there that proves people that buy a house for $7,000 or $14,000 less die as a result? Edit: Just have a look at what car I will be driving when I get my P's.. <<<
  3. If you got your P's after July 1st, 2007 then you cannot drive any turbo'ed or supercharged car unless it's a diesel. If you got your P's before July 1st, 2007 then you have to be under the power/weight ratio: http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/node/199 Edit 1: Link to power to weight calculator: http://webapps.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vr...pwcalc?OpenForm Edit 2: Another link: http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/node/197
  4. lol - with his car I don't think he is interested in the type of things that 'those guys' would take any interest in. I think Ashneel is genuinely after some sweet driving roads.
  5. Hey, that looks pretty sweet. Sony Ericsson always freaking crashes for no apparent (real) reason when I unplug my phone, even though I eject it properly from the computer first.I'll give that a look when I get home. Thanks!
  6. Install the Sony Ericsson PC Suite (on a CD which probably came with your phone, in the box) and follow the instructions that it gives you. Then, when the time comes, plug in your phone via the supplied USB cable and transfer your contacts (via the synchronise option) to your computer. You should then be able to view your contacts in Microsoft Outlook - or whatever you told it to go to in the synchronisation options.
  7. I've started to see and hear about some strange cars as unmarked cars. I saw a white VT Commodore (I think that's around the right model, looks right) that pulled over a car. Wasn't nice and shiny like you may expect, was kind of muddy etc. My sister said she saw a Toyota Kluger too.
  8. I hadn't even seen that old banner for some time. I assumed someone was in the process of making a new one.. Maybe I accidentally Adblock'ed it. This is good enough.
  9. I've seen a few, but I don't recall seeing a WRX. The rear has grown on me, I like it. It seems to be the only part I ever see of it. And my gosh, the Sedan looked like a Toyota to me.
  10. Yeah, I learned to drive there too. Nope, doesn't exist any longer. Was driving on that road just the other day and suddenly though "What the hell? Where am I?" -- sucks.
  11. Who knows.. If it wasn't for the beer in the first place the child may not have even been born.
  12. If anyone is interested, it is in issue #8. Nice work there.
  13. Upon further inspection - this site seems entirely useless. That guy that has reported over 3000 incidents has had 0 of them resolved. Kinda makes you wonder what the point of this is.. "Yes, driver 'X' is annoying." Lovely. Now what?
  14. Ah this is nice. Nobody I know is on there. At least that I've thought of yet..
  15. Yeah, this is ages old: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/30/nissan-...-forum-members/ http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?thr...mp;pagenumber=1
  16. I hear all these things about why people hate Snowy; But all we know is... he's called The Stig.
  17. I was driving near there (Browns Road) no more than 45 minutes ago, had no idea of anything strange going on. Seemed pretty quiet. Know if anything ended up happening? Edit: Very nice picture.
  18. I'll second that, I keep seeing FERNI drive past me when I'm walking home. Keep thinking it's my brother's car. Curse you. I lol'ed. :laughing-smiley-014:
  19. What? Who lives in Rowville these days.. I wish you luck. From the boards I see around during my walk home - a lot of properties are going for sale, but I'll look for you.

    New P-plate Laws

Maybe something on the fact that this will increase the number of P-Plate drivers on the road at one given time. Lets say that a group of people would like to go to a party (or shopping, see the football, etc) together - it just means that there will only be 2 people in each car (if they are all in the same age group). I'd say that this, if anything, encourages reckless driving, racing, etc. Then (being dramatic and thinking in a possibly unrealistically long-termed time frame) you've got to think about those extra parking spaces at shopping complexes, football stadiums, etc. Also, more road use means the possibility of more road maintenance needing to be done. And of course carbon emissions are likely to increase on a drastic level due to all the old, beat up pieces of crap that many P-Plates consider to be a great thing. And more cars in general. Not everyone has enough cash to buy something that's perfect in every way. Some cars don't have the best brakes, steering, transmission, safety features, visibility, the list goes on.. How can it be simple enough for the government to single out the P-Platers (who aren't the only ones that drive recklessly and aren't the only people who drive sh*tty unsafe cars)? I can understand that P-Platers may not the most experienced drivers on the roads and therefore maybe do need a little more 'care' than everyone else. You won't want to include this in your oral, but only the first year sounds fair to me. Any longer than that and it would be a major pain in the rear end. Major. And, if your teacher is a proper Year 12 teacher they won't be harsh on you for picking a topic that they have a strong opinion on. Doing something that you're passionate on will just mean you'll try harder to persuade your listeners. At the end of the day, you know you've done your best. Best of luck with your oral mate. (Even though I'm still on my Learners at the moment and have a crap car myself I think I'm qualified enough to have an opinion. Probably over-qualified with my crappy car. =P) Edit: Here's another article on The Age (which you may have already seen) that has more opinions of other people. You may be able to expand on some of them or add your personal experience. http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/why...2233951238.html
  21. Is it just me, or do those rims in the pictures provided not match the ones shown on the car?
