  1. Exactly. Thanks for sharing man. The rb30/25 will cost you ~2000. Then add a stage 2 gcg 500hp high flow for ~2450. Where now lookin at 260ish rwkw on 15 psi. maybe add a few extra $$ for some parts. Spendin probably be the same but look at the end results of the two.
  2. i didnt say itd make more than 250 , but youd be closer than spendin 10g on an rb20
  3. Yeah mate - not all of us have the supply of parts, and spend grands on tuning to squeeze out 250kw out of an rb20. How much money do you think it would cost to get 250 kw out of it -10g? Now compare it to say an rb30 bottom end with a 25 head. Im told this engine produces the same output as the rb20det with no turbo. 10g compared to say 2g for a rebuilt motor package. Thats what I was trying to say.
  4. Yer aiming way too high if your trying to get 250kw with an rb20. What sort of power are you trying to end up with? The rb25 stage 2 high flow, ive been told "wont even run on an rb20, it surges then cr*ps itself, makes full boost by 4500 rpm."
  5. Ive got some lowered king spings, as well as some lowered std prings if your intereted. Thats two full sets front and back.
  6. true, heres what was done at the 100k service. replaced cam belt, three other belts, water pump, oil & filter, a bleed valve, and setting up mixtures and boost. labour was $490 total came to $1,183. Im screwed - gotta do new engine i reckons.
  7. yup, it was supposed to be a new belt (9000ks) too.
  8. How much for the rb25 head?, with cams etc.
  9. Boosted Zed - im in for sure. Just gotta sort out me engine - timing belt let go, so i might be up for rebuild or new engine. I'll pay deposit in fortnight or so, funds permitting, then the rest by the last week of July. I'll have to ring u to get details for direct depost etc.
  10. It probably almost is bent valves etc. -Joel- is helping me with info on sorting a new engine. rb30 with 25 head sounds good. Nah, i dont think it will be still under warranty, eventhough it was only done 30/10/02. Its done ~9000k since. Dunno if it was due to their workmanship, but could see em sayin "Sorry mate, not our problem"
  11. Dunno, might be terminal. Raa guy reckons he heard the belt go, then then pistons hitting valves.
  12. Coming home from work, 11:00pm at night. Get to the last couple of corners, coming up to a round about. Go to change down into second, Bang, crunch, crunch. Engine shuts off, turn left through the round about, car dead. :bonk: Look behind me - RAA guy sitting in car park. How cool. Guy comes has look at car. Says he heard it blow from across the road. Asks me to touch the ign. key. Sounds like its coming from the front of the engine. Timing cover. The cars only just done 109k. I know coz I bought the car at 103k. Previous owner had 100k service done, Raa guy reckons the belt was prob fitted wrong, incorrectly adjusted, or something was left untightened. Wat a hedfark. The workshop in question that the previous owner used was Turbo Tune on South Road. Anyone else had a problem like this, or am I just an unlucky b*stard?
  13. Hey man, I just spoke to someone there and he rekons its about $100 freight to Adeliade? How do I pay the deposit though? The man reckons a money order, (cause I dont do credit), so do I get one for a hundered bucks or so, then sent it to them? How long before we get it, if we order say in the next few days?
  14. What size is the tubing? How would I go about paing a deposit/final cost (I live in Adelaide), and how much would it cost to freight to my door? thanks
  15. Ive heard some stories about tilbrooks. Id be careful where you take your car.
  16. Can that be reprogrammed for upgrades boostin2lvl?
  17. Who says we can't put a flame thrower on like they do in Africa? At my work some B*stards have been breakn into ppls cars. Ive got the club, plus an alarm/imm. They've even got security, but they are never around when the C**** are at it!
  18. I'll see if I can make it. Might be workin though......
  19. cheers guys for the info
  20. Gday all, just a quick question.... Ive been readin that the rb20det head is restrictive when compared to the rb25 head. What would be better in your opinion, fitting the rb25 head, or having the rb20 head worked on to improve flows etc.. Would swapping the head for a rb25 also involve swapping the manifolds etc., so would the eventual costs outway doing this? Also, anyone had work done to their rb20 head, and what were the results? I'm thinkin of fitting the metal head gasket at the same time (I've heard but might be wrong, that it helps prevent a blown motor). Cheers for your opinion, Bl4cK32:)
  21. You got me there Joel. Seems you know more about my car than me. Just explorin a few avenues to upgrade path. So tell me what can I do to get some more balls to this fine car the previous owner has sold me.....
  22. the one on mine was fitted by the previous owner, it counts down once the ignition is turned off. While it is timing out, you can exit the car and press the remote to lock the doors, and set the immobilizer. Dunno if this helps, but it can be done.
  23. so what would be a good turbo to upgrade to get to 250-275 rwkw?
  24. The previous owner of my car (R32 gtst) had the standard turbo high flowed, machined, with new internals, which is now running 16psi. I was told by him when, or if, I decide to put a metal head gasket on, it will be capable of running 19psi. How much rwkw/hp would this turbo be capable of? I dunno the specs of the internals sorry, not much of a tech head. I was looking for approx. ~250 - 275 rwkw when im finished with the car, would this turbo suit, or what would be a good upgrade?
  25. time for me to post.... name : darren car : r32 gtst type m job : sub assy. (makin parts for holden, toyota, eeewwww) location : compton (ne burbs) stuff i like : me car, spendin money on me car, oh and me stereo. as well as drinkin wit me mates, and good food.
