  1. sorry for the stupid question, but do you have the rb25 gearbox in there as well matt?
  2. I was at RPM and seen Ivan drivin a modified Proton. Is that his car - WTF??
  3. I got an r32 rb25de head with the inlet manifold, fuel rail, injectors etc for $750 (Australian $$) here in Adelaide.
  4. Don't think they're different. I took the rb20 inlet off my car, and took the r32 rb25 inlet off the rb25 head and im pretty sure they are all in the same position. Dont quote me - I cant be farked trying to put the rb25 manifold on me rb20 head.
  5. the rb25's in the last r32's had no VVT. This makes them perfect to use in the rb30/25 hybrid conversion if you dont want hassles of trying to connect it all up. -Joel- has compared the inlet manifold from the rb25de motor, that came with his head, and yes - it does look exactly the same as the rb20 inlet manifold.
  6. read -Joel- 's rb30 diy guide. It explains the answers. Why would you want to swap the 25de cams for the 25det cams? I've been told they are more aggressive (de) than the turbo (25det) cams. Apparently 25de cams slightly lump when put into a turbo engine
  7. yes definitly! Pm me with details please!!
  8. I agree wrxhoon, thats why im rebuilding MYSELF.
  9. me too. did someone say group buy joel.....
  10. oh....oh.....me too (if someone donates a lift) ....please.....
  11. I'd love to come if someone wants to give me a ride till mine gets on the road again. The offer will be repaid with shotguns in my car when she gets goin in a month or two....:burnout:
  12. I wouldn't cos a snapped timing belt can destroy an engine. Dum Fik who replaced mine (a workshop) for the previous owner overtightened the idler bearing - snapped bolt 6k later & 1 destroyed engine not under warranty. Only do it if your confident using a torque wrench, and know ALL torque settings.
  13. iv'e always had holdens so I know how to fix em quick incase i get stuck on the way to work. My last car was a 202 holen ute. Cost me 1400 and never broke down. That is why i want one for a work car.
  14. cmon ppl. I know there are some cheap holdens out there....I could buy it off ya - then you can do some mods to the skyline
  15. 1) how much for the seat? 2) would you send it to adelaide? 3) how much did it cost to re-trim? 4) the pics dont show the seat...
  16. I'd Farken LOVE to go - but me car is off for bout another month...
  17. Right ppl. I have in front of me the AVCr instruction manual. I haven't had it installed yet (due to engine dying week after I bought it - different story). The Avcr has a number of different learn modes. Its pretty complicated, but there is a wire for the revs and a wire for the speed signal. It uses some sort of calculation from these two values to know what gear its in Yes it would work - cos its in the Manual. Just need someone in the know to set it up fo u.
  18. yeah steve. I told u b4 its Chris Miltons. You got a qoute from them by memory, but it was too much? Interesting though - I have heard (on good authority) that the same work I'm getting done would've costed anywhere up to $1100 from another engine developers. Chris is pretty cheap - but it does save u to take the head off yourself
  19. no way man. Its ~400 for the Full recon then ~300 for the mild port job. edit/ i bought the vrs kit for the head as well which cost ~260, so I supplied valve stem seals to head place
  20. They do this mod on two stroke bikes as well. Its "supposed" to let the coolant flow flat out all the time to increase the rate at which the engine cools down. Just makes it a bastard to get the thing up to operating temp. to start with if u ask me...
  21. Well here in Adel. I'm getting a total recon(new stem seals, re-shim valves etc.), then for an extra 300 they're doing some mild porting, (cleanup of valve openings etc.), like u said.
  22. What do you mean by "mild street port"?
  23. Cheers oh "Great One"
  24. Yes, but setting up is critical - can lead to blown turbo/engine.
  25. best to get it installed/setup by a pro. Here in adelaide i was quoted ~$250 (for install/tuning). It suits many types of cars, not brand specific. I've got the "vehicle specific wiring diagrams" book sitting in front of me (come with the AVCr when u buy it) and the Rb267dett is listed.
