  1. Personally, I think it would be worth it, saftey wise, to have a cage in the car. Don't they say driving out on the road is far more dangerous than driving on the race track?? I have seen numerous car fatalities on the news where cars have been stolen, then run through a red light. Who survives?? the thieves.... Sorry, my rant, but if you've ever lost anyone on the road, because of some ignorant *** heads then in my eyes, if you've done everything you can to protect yourself, your better off. NOT just wank factor - a life saver in some cases.....
  2. Hey Steve, is it true that you can hae unlimited mods IF the cars has been converted to run on LPG? e.g. http://www.fullboost.com.au/cars/featureca...002/vl_tim.html I could do this
  3. :bahaha: I'm replacing my engine now due to snapped idler bearing bolt. The bottom end is costing me ~$3200 (full rebuild, balanced, and FORGIES!) Dunno what your mechanic is trippin on....
  4. hey Whatsisname, where did u get yer rocker covers polished? I was thinkin of gettin it done
  5. Engine looks sexy James does nice work.
  6. Am selling my box though. :D:D:D:D: Ur funny!!
  7. Go for it RIPS. Should make the 9's with the car stripped. I definitly believe its all in the tuning. Show em what the 30 can do
  8. I chose to stick with the GtsT cos of the maintenance factor. I personally dont like fiddling with 6 throttle bodys, 2 turbos, 2 diffs, ATESSA, etc.... list goes on of extra things to look out for.
  9. AAA are the best. I think they make the pacemaker headers dont they??
  10. Danmn car is still off the road. I wouldv'e been there.....(Better be one again after i gets it done.)
  11. I make parts for the Monaro. The export version is a lot better than the Australian version. All panels are galvenized for starters. Wont have your Monaro rusting out like here in Aus in 10 years.
  12. are we talking about the same pulley? I cant get a hammer to the pulley cos its covered by the half ring on the oil pump. I cant use the puller again - i haven't got a tap set to screw in some bolts to use it.
  13. Cheers Spoolup, that is what i thought was the go. No other way i can see.
  14. the oil pump is still on, its being trapped by the crank pulley. i cant get to it really with a hammer to tap it off.
  15. I posted this in another thread but... OK so how do i get the Crank timing pulley off then. NOT the Crank pulley, the one behind them, in front of the oil pump which the timing belt goes around. Does it come off with the oil pump, cos it seems that the pump is free from the block, but the timing pulley is stopping it and i dunno how to get that off. Your help is appreciated.

  17. Yeah, and the R32 RB25de doesn't have VVT.
  18. Coolies. Discuss with u on sat as previously mentioned.
  19. Howdy. I'm in the process of removing my engine and in need of some help. Question : How do you remove the dipstick assembly from the block? (no, not to check the oil, the whole thing. tube, etc. #2 : Has anyone else done this, if so where did you lift it from, and do you have the engine chains to do it with that I could borrow this weekend? CHEERS
  20. Well its Then you Or try
  21. They said "if you have fire and theft, the maximum payout for it is 4k". This i dont understand. Whats the point of having fire and theft if u only get 4k? A mate had an agreed value for 20K. They said minus the policy payments for the next 12 months, his added extras stereo, roll bar and nudge bar (its a ute) were not "extras". They were listed as extras, but they refused to pay on these items, and he was not allowed to salvage them. He got a payout for 16k. Not the 20k which was stated on the poilcy.
  22. Try this place. Add (08) to front of phone number for SA. Dunno international bit though City Dismantlers 8349 6300 (the holden/nissan section you want) Ask for a Holden Commodore Series 2 RB30e. (N/A)
  23. "i couldnt' agree with mattr more .. so i'll just keep my 2k a year and be on 3rd party ... so if u have an accident its 2k + 2.5k on premiums ... if ur car gets stolen its 2k + 2.5k+ ... thats almost 5k u pay insurance company if u have a bad accident ... i just figure that u drive carefully .. dont' do nothing stupid ... concentrate at all times while driving which means stay on one lane and not weave in traffic .. and drive at a distance from the person in front and the chances of u having an accident is lowered (but still a chance so touch wood) .. i'll keep that 5k and save it till when u do have an accident ... 3 years and u've paid the company $4k-$7k .. for shitty service and dodgy policies??" TOTALLY agree with hippy, and Mattr on this one. Mate had full comp on his car, then when someone smashed into him, his "agreed value" for 20k suddenly turned out to be only 16k!! They still wanted the policy to be payed for the rest of the 12 months...FKUN Insurance gimmes the shizzt. Oh, Just car said to me if my car gets stollen, I only get a 4k payout for the 16k policy!!!!
  24. Wouldn't this come under "The Phantom"s thoery that the heavier weight of the std item abosrbs more or the vibrations. Like how he said the OS GIKEN(?) crankshafts for the rb30 they make is "Overbalanced" rather than lightened to abosrb....?
