HAHA that article is a POS. ****edited by PranK (no business names please)**** Then how come they managed to overtighten an idler bearing bolt on my engine and blow the fu.ker up. As well as having 2500 on the coil cover, and rb20 on cam belt cover??As far as costs, the rb25de (non vvt) head + intake manifold was $750, recond the whole lot + porting was ~$900. The rb30e bottom end is $100 (with cracked head) Recond' (Acid dipped, honed, full balance, crack test rods & crank,) ~$1800 + $1400 for forged pistons.
All up about $5k - Without labour to fit it to the car.
If u use non vvt go the rb20det wiring loom + comp (it didn't have it from factrory) If u use vvt go rb25det wiring loom + comp (it comes from factory), but not worth the hassle IMO.
