  1. Dean at mag wheel service in margaret street is very good and depulu in southport is also very good. I've used both these guys on more than one occasion and am very happy. -rb25
  2. :werd: yeah, what oil did they use? Some grades of Mobil 1 cause problems, particularly in GT-R's for some reason. -rb25
  3. I've read a few threads about RB engines not starting too well, needing alot of cranking and when they do turn over they barley idle at 4-500rpm and need a stab on the accel. to be bought up to proper idle speed. I've recently fixed this problem on my 33 with a new set of coil packs. The motor starts normally now so it might be worth checking your coil packs if you have this problem. -rb25
  4. lol. the first thing i noticed when putting in 300V today was the smell. Car now holds idle oil pressure at 2bar, not 1 at idle and is alot smother on the rev-up and quieter on idle and starts smoother. Changed from a full mineral oil (conoco) which came out black after 3000km. -rb25
  5. citro-cleaner? that shit seems to clean anything. -rb25
  6. i thought the rb20, rb26 and rb25 exhaust gears were the same, but the rb25 inlet gear had a different key hole in it coz of the vvt setup. -rb25
  7. yeah, sensor comes with the EGT gauge? and what size is the face? -rb25
  8. What brands and price per number of sets are we looking at? -rb25
  9. Thats not right at all. Heres an old post of mine from last year: -rb25
  10. Your points B & C aren't really true. She can't do anything unless she had a reliable witness (i.e. another officer). I speak from personal experience. -rb25
  11. I wouldn't worry, she didn't have a witness. -rb25
  12. When I had my exedy hd put in the guy told me not to dump it or slip it excessively for 500km, other than that, just drive normal. -rb25
  13. Here's a pic of my setup. The bolt I used is the original bolt that fixes the igniter to the cover, it has exactly the same thread/pitch as the allen bolts. Don;t just 'move it to the side' to get bashed around your engine bay and possibly break the plugs and the dis unit itself. -rb25
  14. pics of the dodgy coil next to the new one, and the finished install. Took all of an hour and a half, if you can change plugs, you can do coils. -rb25
  15. timing is perfect, the problem was discovered during tuning. ok, i just put them in and went for a drive, using the old platinum plugs that would make it miss. Didn't miss a beat all the way to 7000 on 0.92bar. Very happy, fixed my problem. Also, after looking at the old coil packs, 5 of them have big white spots on both sides indicating spark blow-out if im right? Time for a re-tune with some more timing now.... -rb25
  16. my engine bay will make me look like a ricer soon. -rb25
  17. :werd: i think its all about your application, and most of all, how good your tuner is, not your ecu to a certain extent of course. The FconV Pro, PowerFC and Wolf all offer more than enough features for a moderately tuned street car. My opinion is that the FconV Pro is very suited to high HP circuit and drag cars that dont need the standard ecu to run air con coz it isnt there. The ecu also has special launch features, ignition retard/advance depending on any chosen engine condition that may vary from the many additional sensors you can hook up to it, the hks camp vdu interface and harness shits all over your datalogit and fc hand controller for realtime monitoring and logging, very funky stuff and lots of other things that arent even applicable to everyday street cars. I'm not being a smartarse here, but can the wolf control additional fans, water sprays, and upto 16 (?) additional outputs (i.e. solenoids/thermostats etc.) base on any chosen monitored engine condition? these features are very similar to a motec arent they? -rb25
  18. in your own insightfulness, you have missed the point of this thread completley. -rb25
  19. ok guys, unfortunately nengun can't get close to that price so hes withdrawn from the group buy. damn.... -rb25
  20. just some pics of the splitfires for those interested.
  21. http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...&threadid=31765 this guy might be able to help. -rb25
  22. finally, someone who isnt sensitive to some shit stirring! But i do really like the idea of being able to work with it yourself so easily and alot to be learnt about tuning right there i think. -rb25
  23. thats just stupid. you're being a showpony/dynoqueen again! whats your 1/4 time or are we still waiting for warmer weather? -rb25
