Driving the R32 RB30DET with its std 4.363:1 diff ratio really does feel buzzy. If that makes sense. Its like the car doesn't have time to use the torque of the motor to accelerate the car and really get that turbo working as you flick through the first couple of gears so quickly. This really becomes apparent when driving a mild VLT making roughly the same power. The VLT's are roughly the same weight as an R32 so it IS a good comparison as to how the low down torque and mid range acceleration would feel. All though the vlt could do with a slightly shorter diff ratio it really does work damn well. I wouldn't be worried with a 3.9:1 ratio in an R32 at all, if anything it will make it easier and quicker to drive at low speeds. Currently first gear simply buzzes, its like all you want to do is get in to second gear asap as to get that turbo working so it makes some torque to accelerate the car. The VLT I am refering to was running 225 50 16's, but damn it really did feel good, apart from the noticable lack of revyness due to the sohc head, it really felt like it didn't want to rev past 4500rpm. My experience was the higher diff ratio (lower numerically) is much more rewarding to drive, from a performance perspective. A car that is buzzy gets annoying and frustrating.

Its wise and quicker to always claim on your insurance anyway, they look at your account of events + the police report and make a decision if you pay an excess based on if it was your fault. I always have done this. Should you not be at fault your insurance company fixes your car with no hold ups, mean while they chase up the other drivers insurance company or if there is no insurance your insurance company takes the driver to court. IF you claim through their insurance you have to wait for them to pay excesses etc, its a real pain in the arse. I was with SGIC before I had the skyline, a driver side swiped me, it turned out he too was with sgic and I had to wait until he had paid the excess even though I had made the claim and not stated which insurance company he was with. My guess that was just SGIC or possibly the way the crash shop lodged the forms or some thing. I made a claim through RAA that was not my fault, they simply fixed the car, I didn't pay any excess. BUT if you don't have full comp insurance then obviously you must go through the hassle of claiming through their insurance.

It wasn't his fault.. There will be no insurance excess.

Awesome news.. Exactly what we want to hear. On the note of good news I was cruising behind that dude who had a brick/rock thrown through his front window down on Hub drive a while back when there was that spate of some idiot throwing rocks at passing cars. You may all remember his little red Mazda Familia. His number plates incidently are state 'Rock on' Good to see he's all well now too.

Most likely plug gap. Set it to 0.75-0.8mm for higher than std boost.

Shop around. The general price is as stated around 60-80. There's a workshop around the corner that does power runs for $35.

That would be Drew in his R33. I'm assuming you haven't seen this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...pic=118793&st=0

Here's a working link to the little vid madaz was trying to post.

Andrew, The pics I saw on the news the emergency services had removed the roof. They were taken to hospital by air.
-
Does make you realise how we all take life for granted. Expecting to be here tomorrow. Emergency service came on the cruise??

Frustrating the media didn't make it completely clear what happened. By simply stating "one car was overtaking" as they show pictures of the skyline allows the uninformed to assume it was the 'hoon skyline' doing the overtaking.

Size the injectors to the power level you require. Don't go overboard as larger injectors atomize fuel worse at low rpm/duty cycles. GTR injectors are apparently 444cc. Mine flowed 480cc with 40psi base fuel pressure.

wow, definitely not something I expected. All the best to every one involved. I hope every one is ok, and those who witnessed it, I hope your not shaken up too much. May I ask which stretch of road this incident occured? EDIT: It was just on the news then. A stretch of road at Strathalbyn, they showed pics, there was a fatality. Its definitely obvious the festiva was overtaking, the right front corner of drew's R33 took a majority of the impact.

I've been connected all day. I just jumped off it then as I've had enough for a while.

I am having issues getting in. I am using Xfire, it asks for a passwd, I type in the supplied passwd as per pm and it throws me out stating passwrd incorrect. With regards to teamspeak, there really isn't any need with BF2 as it has its own built in team speak thingo does it not?

Ahh no worries.. Was good... Ive just made a nice little tweak that helps with the track. LHD.

Yes shaun does wonders with those 044's in tank, Bl4ck32's is so so quiet. I gave Darren a had with his 2 way, was easy as.

Hows the servers map change going to be setup? I played on it a week or so back and it appeared every 2rounds or so it would map change. I'm sure u all agree waiting bf2 to load a new map is like pulling teeth.
-
Ash I've been thinking about your 223rwkw on 15psi (GT35) with 80-85% duty out of those injectors.. Either Shaun's dyno is reading a tad low or that gtr fuel pump your running is tired. Was the pump second hand when you bought it?

Ive always had the impression the R32 GTS4's have always had the 4.363:1 diff ratio. http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthr...goto=nextnewest There's a little thread also. I'd hate to drive the RB20DET GTS4 if it really did have a 3.6:1.

Awesome... So I won't hear any excuses this time around? hehh Only joke.. U kick my arse anyway. The server will be up in a few mins... SAU_RACE For those that wish to join and have broad band, the dload is around 138mb and can be had from here.... http://www.liveforspeed.net/?page=downloads&which=full It doesn't require a power house machine, and runs rather quick even on my 4yr old system.

I'd say thats probably a good idea... based on how pokie drives in LFS.. hehe
-
Yes origionally the price was $25 each, I got there and he said.. bah.. make it $20 each. $120 will do. Maybe because the injectors were almost perfect before the clean.. I don't know. I also looked at petroject but they really didn't appear to want the job, where as MRE instantly gave me the low down stating they do this that engrave the injectors with corresponding numbers to the flow sheet etc.. very informative.
