I'm on the same line of thought itbmils. The center console not the dash cluster.

I think he just cooked it and possibly blew off an IC hose. Thats if he is lucky. Worse case is its leaned out causing the coolant to boil and exh. valves burnt, possibly even blowing a hole in a piston. Which is why it a good idea to often throw the car on a dyno every 6 months or a year for a power run to check the AFR's are in check.
-
makaveli, Any chance of a dyno graph pic?
-
Is it possible to mod the existing console cluster and slip in aftermarket guages? I am toying with this idea at the moment.

As R31 Power said... Check if any of the IC pipes have popped off. When it idles rough is there a slight trace black smoke out the exhuast?

Its an R32 RB25DE head.. You will need the R32 RB20DET cams. Anything to increase the airflow and reduce the boost required is a good thing. Increase only the lift and you will increase the average power under the curve, increase only the duration you will increase the rpm at where peak power is made. Also larger duration hence slightly more overlap does not work well with a restrictive turbine housing and or exhaust. The N/A stock cams are not useless, however the springs over 17psi are. The N/A springs don't have enough seat pressure and cause valve float on the inlet. Replace the springs with a turbo set of springs and the motor will be fine to run big boost. There's a GT35 internal gate .82 on a Rb30det getting around on this board by the name of Sky30. Stock cams, stock exh. manifold, gtr valve springs made 290rwkw @6000rpm on ~19psi. He has a set of Tomei PonCams 260duration coming. It will be very interestering to see the boost drop and power go upwards. I have a .82 ARB machined exhaust housing to suit a GT35R, it has provision to bolt an external gate on and bolt up to the stock exh. manifold. It isn't optimal. The same exhaust housing on another RB30DET with 18-19psi it made 306rwkw. With a garrett gt35r .82 exhaust housing, aftermarket manifold setup properly with the wastegate it made an extra 20rwkw on the same boost. Obviously the GT35R's love the high boost 25psi range. They are rather efficient up that are of the compressor map. You select a turbo to suit your power requirements. If up to 300rwkw is what you want then select a GT30R, if you want over grab your self a GT35R. The trick with the RB30 is to get a nice free flowing exhaust and turbine housing. A bare minimum of a .82 exhaust a/r and a 3.5" exhaust (nice big center resonator & rear muffler) will work well with the RB30DET.

lol 221rwhp.. Exact same figure mine ran with a 3" exhaust, fmic, stock airbox/ecu, ebc running 1bar. damn those sidewayz scans though. So how is it holding 15psi? EBC?

Get the old dear to take it in, or even better grandma.

oh... i've been sick once, i went out feeling a little off colour and i cannot believe how I power chucked.. like nothing i've ever experienced before. I could help but let out a loud roar as I was power chucking.. lol

I thought I'd update ppls.. I've since noticed a surge issue around 1800rpm. Loading up say 4th gear at 1500rpm starts to see boost quickly then it goes flat and the turbo sounds strange, if I hold my foot in to it the turbo starts to make a really strange noise (almost a popping noise) then the car begins to jerk around. nasty pasty. I have never actually held my foot in to it when it has that flat feeling so I haven't heard the popping or felt the jerking before. Never again will I do it. Sounds really bad. Not to worry, its never really in that zone anyhow. A good excuse to pull the little terd off.

ohh no.. here come the fishing story's..

Explain from a technical point of view why it is pointless? or do you not know why? So what your saying is a Rb26DETT in a RWD GTST should first be tuned in a GTR or GTS4 then dropped in to the RWD as its pointless tuning it in rwd?!?
-
2wd or 4wd.. Unless its a super high powered GTR that does not get traction in rwd on a rwd dyno then there should be no difference on the load that is put on the motor. If it aint spinning on the dyno in rwd then 4wd won't put any more load on the motor that is going to affect the tune. If load affected the tune that much then all cars would be tuned in 5th. On the R32 you can either remove the fuse or drop the front shaft, R33 you have to drop the front shaft. I would lean towards Boostworx and Tilbrooks. I've had experience with all 3 work shops. Tilbrooks are excellent and have the PowerFC software, Shaun simply does his wizard thing with the hand controller. I currently use Shaun @ Boostworx.

Grepin, I got in to boating/fishing 3 years or so ago now. My old man and I joined up with the coast guard and went through their boating course that obtains your boat license for you. Well worth it. They take you and your boat out on to the water and teach you how to throw it around. Quite scary but great fun. Nothing quite like hanging on for your life as you spin the boat almost on the spot to complete a 180degree turn. We have fished and caught plenty of little crappy fish, lots of squid but thats about it. We have some decent (well i think they are) GPS locations but they are out deep. We obviously haven't been 10clicks off shore yet so until then.. No big fish for us.. We have caught some huge squid where their tubes are as long as a 9.6-10ltr bucket and the head is hanging over the side.

Hey ppls, I've been hoping I wouldn't have to do this but its certian I'm not going to be able to make it. damn, was looking forward to kicking some arse *again*.. lol

R32 GTT, 101rwhp is 75rwkw.. I highly doubt you have that at 1000rpm. Maybe the inlet temp sensor was in a hotter than air intake temp position?

My RB30DET (RB30 Forged pistons, R32 RB25DE Head) with the stock rb20det turbo and a quick 1hr tune made 100rwkw at 2000rpm, boost was 12psi @ 2000rpm then tailed off to 9psi by 4400rpm where it made peak power of 175rwkw. 4950rpm it was still making 175rwkw. 6100rpm it made 137rwkw. 100rwkw at 2000rpm = 477nM 175rwkw at 4400rpm = 379nM 175rwkw at 4950rpm = 337nM 137rwkw at 6100rpm = 214Nm This power is at the wheels. Add ~50kw for drivetrain loss, even though at 175rwkw its more likely to be 60rwkw loss. So 150fwkw at 2000rpm = 715nM 225fwkw at 4400rpm = 487nM 225fwkw at 4950rpm = 433nM 187fwkw at 6100rpm = 292nM It rev's like a Nissan Patrol 3.0TDI.

Masters, As Bl4ck32 said... Definitely get it from your Nissan dealer.
-
heheheh hook line and sinker.
-
yer well.. it appears the general consensus is that rb25 owners are soft.. what can i say.. hehe
-
I think before the cams Steve's R33 made ~250rwkw on 1bar with the .69 exhaust a/r. Twin 3037S on a GTR has made 700rwkw. Obviously big cams etc. But still quite respectable power. The you consider the HKS 2835's that make up to 280rwkw on the RB25's.
-
me?? You mean Steve? The stick regency thread?
-
meh.. they were small cams.
-
Yer same form of tune..
-
369rwkw is fairly impressive when Clint that has a RB25/26 built with cams, headwork and over 20psi made 338rwkw on a DD Dyno and 580hp on the engine dyno. He's running a GT30 .82 SB8006 600hp core, motec m800 etc.
