  1. The woodruff key holds the harmonic balancer in the right place on the crank, it sits in a recess on the crank, and fits into a slot on the harmonic balancer, either the crank has broken around the key and then it's moved around and f**ked shit up or (more likely) the key has just broken..and f**ked shit up. To fix properly it's exxy 'cos it's engine out, pulled down, fixed, then put back together, then engine back in, it can be done dodgy, but then the harmonic balancer is unlikely to ever come off again...
  2. Missing bolt is easily fixed, the hole looks pretty small, I wouldn't worry about it, just replace when you smash the 'box, that's only the clutch/flywheel area. Good to hear you finally got it lisenced
  3. I hate it when at work there is nothing to do, but the boss is in so you have to 'look busy' which is harder and much less entertaining than actually doing work! I see your point, I'm a 2nd yr apprentice, and there is another 2nd yr that is a mature age apprentice, so he earns 3rd yr wages, yet he is f**king useless, and he is a knowitall dickhead to boot, supposedly done every job under the sun, owns this, that and the other, and generally shits me, and every other person in the workshop, the other 2nd yr is f**king useless too. Yeh some are shocking, I went on a drive with a customer a while ago, a few ks through Ozzie Park, he did't once use the indicators...wtf?

    Fuel

The O2 sensor controls fuel mixtures when cruising, to give good fuel economy, The Microtech doesn't use this and is rich all the time, not just when when flogging it, not flogging it would still use less fuel but not as much less.

    Fuel

I get around 450km out of 50L with my RB30E+T only mods are 3" catback and pod, I'm pretty happy with that, it's f**kall, if anything more than when it was NA It's the Microtech, it doesn't have closed loop (unless new ones do?).
  6. Yeh those pics would have been taken here, which is what makes it so odd.

    Parking Ticket

Not sure they legally demand the fine to be paid, does it mention the town/city council on it?
  8. It says on RAC checks that thye don't beleive that compression tests are necessary....yeh good one. This particular car that had been checked be them they said needed a new radiator cap, it had a cracked block.
  9. Such bad luck, sorry to hear Hope it's all going well soon.
  10. The dealership I work for would be charging over $150 for a 'minor' service like Ken describes, and that's only with semi-synthetic, so yeh it's not a bad price at all.
  11. Havn't had to buy import stuff from Northside, but all my invoices from them say to ring Steve for import Nissan stuff, not sure which guy there he is, but one of the guys there is really helpful.
  12. Yeh autos suck hey Rain grinds my gears, traction is minimal
  13. I know a couple of guys that have used Sik em wrex, very happy with him.
  14. Top of front and rear windscreens In engine bay about level with A/c compressor, where the innner guard thing is welded to the rail. + all the ones already mentioned I see you have an S60R, they are hot, love those brakes
  15. Projectors are better for when putting HIDs in as they don't scatter the light randomly, look better too IMO.
  16. This was the downtime expected a few weeks ago
  17. I agree, they are cheap do the same job, If you replace them yourself even with the extra life of the platinums you still end up on top. I have a thing for the spacetanium though
  18. The main advantage of a GTS-R is the engine over the GTS-X, but since you'll be taking it out you may as well just start with a GTS-X
  19. My car was popping and missing when on boost (wouldn't go over 4psi), it was plug gap, gapped them down to 0.6mm and it's all good as said coilpacks can produce the same symptoms.
  20. The Middle East grinds my gears, just kiss and make up ffs! the gaza strip isn't worth fighting for, all the fighting that's already happened means it's f**ked! oh yeh, my main problem with it is that it gives an excuse for petrol co's to rise the price again
  21. Shouldn't what grinds your gears be the price of school fees, tuition and childcare?
