  1. Curious, do ordinary wheel/tyre shops sell p1s? Otherwise, how would i go about getting them? Theyre definately my favourite style (in gunmetal actually) on a silver r33, i absolutely love it. At first i was thinking gunmetal drifteks or te37s but i think the p1s have won me over.
  2. My car has that dull/rough feeling when i touch the paint. I gave it a solid wash (water/soap) this past weekend but havent done any polish/waxing yet. I was thinkin about just paying for a professional detail but havent decided. I just got the car so i figured i'd start it off with a pro detail since it seems logical that maintaining a clean car is easier than bringing back that paint shine. Any suggestions? If i go the pro route, obviously ill make sure they clean/clay/polish/wax then i can just wash it and wax it when necessary myself to maintain. If i dont, should i go buy a clay bar and some sort of polish? I already have a tin of mothers carnauba wax i planned to use but havent just yet. I really wish i could do everything at home, damn water restrictions i refuse to wash my car with grey water!
  3. Definately no atmo bov, my car is 100% stock minus the apexi pod i put on last night (which i havent driven with yet). Ill go over the piping i guess. Im getting the major service 9timing belt etc) done very soo, so if i cant find the problem, il let them worry about it.
  4. Mine just stopped doing it the last few times i've had to start it, odd. Now if only i could sort out the random stalling/power cutting out when i go to slow down.. time to see a mechanic i think it just loses all power when i begin to slow down sometimes, like ill shift to 3rd from 4th or start slowing down from 4th for a red light and it will die; steering/hicas light/0 rpm/breaks harden.
  5. mine does it after its been sitting for a while (overnight, maybe 6hrs+) but not if the car has been running slightly earlier.
  6. Great. I just bought it so i guess i don't have to worry about getting a timer "fitted" now. Does that explain both or just one?
  7. Car is a r33 series 2, 1996 turbo. Was just tidying up and noticed these 2 plugs in the drivers side footwell; kind of curious what they are meant for. They were just sitting on the plastic ridge, tucked away. Hope these images help:
  8. i got done 3 times in 45 minutes because i mistook the speed limit for 60 when it was really 50. 3 times in 45 minutes, hows that. First was my fault, i really was doing close to 70, but after that i adjusted to what i thought was the speed limit and got nabbed with another 2 fines. Fortunately, it was my first offenses an it was quite clear that i did adjust my speed; so they dropped the last one. Ended up being 4 demerit points rather than 5. Just thinking to myself, i know for sure if i was stopped by a cop car and fined for doing 70 and told what the actual speed limit was, the other 2 would not have occurred. The area wasnt even built up; it is clearly a potential spot to allow for 60km/h. Sign frequency and visibility is poor but now that cant even save youl theya re too cheap to put up 50 signs so they have this campaign saying if theres no sign its 50.
  9. It starts first time always; although it does make a sort of high pitch noise for a second or 2 when i start it sometimes after its been sitting for a day or so. Guess ill just have to get it checked out; i wouldve liked to solve it by myself though.
  10. Mine does this as well, stalls when coming to a stop from 3rd/4th/5th. When it dies, power steering goes away, brakes go hard, all the dash lights go on etc. Mine is 100% stock so it isnt a bov issue. I need to get this fixed because i cant use the brakes properly when coming to a stop since they harden. Would a dirty afm cause this sort of stall? Im pretty sure the battery might need replacing too, because when i bought the car it had been sitting garaged for quite some time (long enough for the battery to die). What else can i check? Searching the forum also suggested aac lines but im not confident enough to check it out myself just yet. The car will have to get a roadworthy in a week or 2 anyway so i can atleast tell the guy about what is happening. It only started doing it this last week; it was fine before that and passed a rwc last month. I havent really driven it since it is unregistered. (only to and from vic roads) Also, i was told just before i boguht it, it may need injector cleaning; would carbon build-up cause something like this? Im just trying to narrow it down. edit: stalled about 3 times to vic roads, maybe twice or 3 times on the way home r33 96 gtst s2

  12. Would dotars re-send a copy of the import approval document? Still looking for one of the pages to get the car registered but in a worst case scenario situation, would they re-send the papers? The vehicle is approved and everything.

  14. i went through this phase with my vn calais and had blue neons/cathodes in the footwells. Took them out shortly after putting them in because when they were on at night and the windows were up i couldnt see shit due to the reflection

  17. Maybe if your mother didnt cover you for your previous offenses you mightve learnt your lesson sooner. So you gave your mother 5 points, had 1 left and was given another 3? 12 Points by 20 isnt exactly a laughing matter. Good luck with the 12 month period of no points though, might be tough.
  18. I read the whole thread and it didn't look like this was covered. My car has a rwc as of a few days a go and everything is completely stock minus a rear strut bar. I have to take it to vic roads to get registered next week. Now under their policy, import vehicles must be inspected by them before they allow the registration to pass. Anyone know how thorough this "inspection" is? Assuming the rwc was infact done properly, i should be fine right?
  19. The part that gets me angry is that there are no noticeable changes in the deathtoll/accidents on our roads as mentioned above yet we still get stung with stricter rules and more cameras. Oh i have an idea how to reduce the deaths on our roads, lets introduce MORE cameras!! Its such a dirty scheme they have going but what can we do about it? *news flash* State government announces yet another record breaking budget revenue!
  20. I like the sound of that, a quiet system that can provide excellent flow and but still have a bit of a roar at higher rpm is exactly what i'd like. Guess hks silent hi power is for me

  22. I can live with cutting the front bar if thats all that needs adjusting. As long as i dont need to get out the old holesaw for the engine bay
