  1. Looks like I've bought a set of 18x10 Nismo LMGT1's The rims have a bit of gutter rash and I want to recondition them back to their former glory. One thing I have noticed is that these rims are powdercoated white all round, but it appears on the 400R they had a polished lip: Did these rims originally come like this? If so, would it be easier/cheaper to have the outer part of the rim sandblasted, linished and polished rather than respraying? Who would you guys recommend to do this and what would I expect to pay? Also, where can I find a replacement NISMO decal?
  2. Just about to get my car re-registered, and I also got a quote for $780+ for a greenslip. I assume my rego would be the same also? After an engineering certificate, blue slip and some new tyres this is going to be expensive
  3. Quick update, just spoke to the RTA, apparently it needs an engineering cert and a blue slip and I'm good to go as I have already had the car registered in NSW. I'll update this thread once it's got rego. Thanks guys
  4. Anyone know if this is the case in NSW? I had planned on having the car engineered and then obviously a blue slip, I don't believe we have 'pits' in NSW. Would the RTA be any help in this case?
  5. Take the train to JR Tsurumi and catch a cab. Getting to Tsurumi is easy, telling the cabbie where to go is a bit more of a challenge as my one got a bit confused at first but then called on the rado and worked it out. It's not as convenient as the old Omori Factory but it's definitely worth the effort. Probably about an hour out of Tokyo. Take some directions in Japanese with you. And be sure to ask the nice lady at the Nismo counter to get you a cab back to Tsurumi Oh and don't follow the instructions on the Nismo english website! They haven't updated the location of the new Nismo HQ. Check this out http://www.nismo.co.jp/showroom/accessmap/img/map_img.png
  6. The same alcon kit from JDL? Was your colleague using D2 discs or other brands?
  7. What sort of km's/condition would be getting for 3mil? Also what's a rough approximation to get it landed and complied on top of the auction price?
  8. Thanks guys, I'll get a photo of the plate in question, hopefully it clears things up a bit. Anyone have any insight into RTA changing their import laws recently?
  9. I've had my R32 GTR off the road since 2010. I attempted to get it re-registered a few months ago, and was informed that there was no compliance plate on the car. There is a plate in the engine bay, but apparently it's not a certified compliance plate (it's supposed to be yellow or another colour? In case you're wondering, it's blue). So without this plate, apparently I need to get my car engineered, and to do this I've reinstall seat belts and a few other bits and pieces, and in the meantime I'm having the whole car resprayed as there were a few spots of rust the engineer wasn't happy with. I expect the car to come out of the panel beater in about two weeks, but I have heard there have been some changes to registration laws with regards to imports that have been unregistered for extended periods of time. Does anyone have any more information about this? Is there any other issues that may arise in trying to get my care registered? I really don't want to spend more money on tyres, eng certificate and other bits and pieces only to find out it's registerable. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!
  10. Just read a few pages back that these alcon's are more of a 'street' application rather than heavy duty track calipers. What's the major difference with them and I suppose the 'normal' alcon's? Would they perform better/worse than the D2/ATTKD brakes?
  11. Anyone know if the 343mm kit would fit under 17" Buddyclub Q1 PF's?
  12. Anyone had any experience with ATTKD brakes? Had a look at them yesterday at Just Jap and according to them they are the same as D2's, however the 330mm kit has 6 pistons instead of 8: http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=20986&cat=285&page=1
  13. And last but not least, a toilet which lights up when you take a piss in it: Japan is great.
  14. And some shots from Toyota megaweb:
  15. A few more:
  16. Couple of shots I took out at Nismo Omori:
  17. Do all super autobacs have the extra stuff or just the Tokyo one?
  18. So I checked out autobacs in the hope they might have some cool stuff but all they had were some razo shit, a hks pod filter and about a million different types of car fragrance. Where do the locals buy their bride, tomei, greddy, hks etc gear?
  19. Yep I worked it out the hard way! Actually completed the mission and got out there though! Well worth the extra effort, it's about 100x more interesting than the old one. Got plenty of photos and bought some small things and a team jacket. Can't post any photos but if you check out the SAU page on fb they are up on there.
  20. Today I learnt that nismo omori doesn't exist any more! Looks like it has been relocated to Yokohama.
  21. Yes thanks for that! I'm going to check out nismo omori again, I'll have someone that speaks Japanese with me so maybe ill have some better luck! Also going to check out Toyota megaweb, but by the sounds of it ill be wasting my time trying anything else. I might check out up garage though, is it all used parts? What do they sell exactly?
  22. Yeah it's not that cold, its just that I only brought a hoodie. Also want to get something either nismo or anything car related.
  23. Will skip up garage then. Just quickly im in tokyo and its freezing and i really want to buy a nismo jacket. Any ideas?
  24. As the topic suggests, need a windscreen, and probably some seals. Cheers!
  25. Is the ATTKD brake kit from just jap the same product as D2's? Also, UAS has a few interesting big brake kits under $3k http://nismo.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_gtrbrakes.htm Are they worthwhile upgrades? Namely the AP Racing upgrade
