  1. Surely there has to be a way I can give it a good flush? Spoke to one of the techs at MTQ today in regards to if its possible for the turbo to mix the oil and coolant. He said it is possible but hes never seen it happen. Only way to tell he said would be to remove the turbo cap off one of the water lines and attach a hose to the other end and turn it on and see if water comes out either of the oil lines.... thoughts?
  2. No sign of water in the oil at all.... I like your theory but when the old headgasket was removed there were no visual signs of leaks or any issues on it anywhere according to simon. When the headgasket fails and starts mixing oil and coolant is it very easy to tell by looking at the old gasket once its out of the car? Can someone run me through how I can flush the entire block and cooling system? Ive had a mechanic do it but god knows how well he did it... Im thinking radiator out and clean all that and run a hose into one of the lines and flush it for a good 10 minutes ect ect....
  3. Ok so today I compression tested again so we have readings before and after the head gasket swap. Keeping in mind different compression testers have been used each time and todays tests were with A LOT healthier battery Todays results: Cylinder 1 being closest to radiator and 6 closest to firewall: 1. 170 2. 170 3. 162 4. 150 5. 167 6. 165 So cylinder 4 is down. I added a cap of oil and then got a reading of 172 Initial test carried out by mechanic before HG replacement: No sure which holes they reffered to as 1 and 6 but im assuming its the reverse as what I've done? 1. 155 2. 160 3. 135 4. 145. 5. 160 6. 160. Where too from here?

  5. just doing some net hunting on this issue and found a thread that contradicts the above thread and that oil can mix in the turbo http://zilvia.net/f/engine-tech/318147-idk-what-do-my-rb25-anymore.html
  6. Thanks for all the response guys, Ill do another compression test tomorrow and post up the results.... Is it possible for the turbo to be mixing the oil? I initially thought it was but after reading the following thread, it doesn't sound like its possible http://forums.nicoclub.com/oil-in-coolant-damnet-t490685.html
  7. That was the test prior to replacing the hg
  8. Yeah Ive also thought about this.... How could I test it?
  9. OEM Nissan HG The headgasket that was removed had no signs of any leaks/damage as well :S
  10. I didnt personally do the work but I'll find out if the flatness was checked, I doubt he would miss it as he's been in the RB game for a long time.
  11. A little over a month ago I noticed oil in my coolant, not much and there was no sign of coolant in the oil.... Had a compression test and Tekay test done. Tekay test showed there were no exhaust gases in the coolant. Compression test results were: 1. 155 2. 160 3. 135 4. 145. 5. 160 6. 160. So a couple of mechanics gave me advice on an assumed blown headgasket/small leak between cylinders 3 and 4. I had the head removed, machined and crack tested and all checked out OK. Had it all put back together with a new headgasket, head bolts ect.. and had the cooling system flushed ect and all was ok. 3 weeks later and the car has had NO hard driving and I've got oil in the coolant again. What could this be? The car is manual so no auto trans fluid going through the bottom of the radiator. According to the mechanic who changed the head gasket there is no factory oil cooler/warmer set-up on my stagea so its not that mixing the oil. There is NO sign of coolant on the dip stick or under the oil cap at all. Thanks in advance guys and apologies for the lengthy post, Chris
  12. ANYONE?
  13. Well according to the mechanic I used (fellow SAU member :-) ) he said there was no factory oil cooler/warmer present on my car and I dont doubt his workmanship at all. I had a teekay test done on the coolant prior to replacing the HG and it showed no result, but the workshop that did the test still "suspected" it was a HG issue due to the small amount of oil in my coolant and a compression test with the following results: 1. 155 2. 160 3. 135 4. 145. 5. 160 6. 160.
  14. What else could be mixing the oil and water if the head gasket and head is fine?
  15. Have not done one yet..... Will get onto that and see what it shows
  16. The oil never got coolant in it last time and I have no traces of it in the oil this time either....
  17. Yes the head was crack tested. Well If i knew what caused it, it wouldnt have happened again
  18. Hi All, A bit over a month ago I noticed oil in my coolant, Not much just a tiny bit. Comp tested and two cylinders were down next to eachother and the advice I received was most likely its the head gasket. Got the head gasket replaced, head machined and tested and new bolts put in..... 4 weeks later and once again theres a very small amount of oil appearing under my radiator cap. I had the radiator flushed out ect after the HG was replaced..... The mechanic that did the Head gasket change said when he pulled the head of the headgasket visually didnt have any issues. He also told me that there is no factory oil cooler/warmer on my car so it couldnt be that mixing the two. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers, Chris

  20. I used standard nissan item that came with my clutch kit.
  21. He never had it on.... It should fit all stags you just need to check that you have the mounting points for it under the car just behind the firewall...
  22. Greddy Profec B Spec II. // End thread.
  23. Yes they can be a little awkward at times but just stick at them...... ring spanners and a ratchet is your best friend!
  24. Weird I've never been in one with out it.... (Been in over 10) Personally I wouldn't put tape over the light sensor on the dash either as this is also used by the climate control unit.
