R34 25-gt V 4th Gen Vti-r Prelude
iseekool replied to HairyMerkin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
oh boy another of these threads. Go to a race track/drag strip and find out. Too many factors as the guys pointed out above. Also transmissions, mods and driver skill - Launching a FWD prelude is heaps harder than a RWD skyline. Pointless thread really. Who's di(k is bigger -
I'll be there, my mate says she might come. If she gets off early.

... School holidays????? Seriously. More detail needed - No one can help you until you start giving detail and stop using too many CAPS. Also try better with your English. Answer these basics and we can start somewhere: When does it shake? Where do you suspect the shake comes from? Noises? Fuel? Changes you have made lately? any other info you can provide.....
-
^ good point - I didn't look at it from that angle. WYTSKY - What car did you initially have in mind?
-
Good to hear you found it
-
You were honest enough to tell it straight at the start that you wanted a 2nd car. Your GF should have been honest with you from the beginning IMHO. If she didn't want you having the 2nd car she should have said it straight in the first place - because you wasted time asking around and researching etc... "Might" have prevented the argument in the first place. I wouldn't risk the relationship... But you "could" twist it in your favour. Maybe she wants a new/newer car. Since its going to be a daily car. You get her crappy charade and you buy her a newer nicer car... No girl would turn that down Just my 2c

You do not need to remove the head lights - on a stock system. The ballasts are just under the headlight assembly. If you want to upgrade to the 55w kit I think it is best to upgrade the ballasts too as it will require higher current flow. But before upgrading to 55w xenons you will have to consider a few things. Most 3rd party ballasts out there are inferior quality to the genuine nissan ones, any decent ones cost quite alot - philips branded ballasts. The polycarbonate lense on the r33/r34 will yellow from the inside substantially - I think something to do with radiation from the xenon light - basically it "cooks" the lense.

Spotted 2 r33 sedans on Albert st Preston. 1 white 1 silver. odd - it seems i'm starting to spot more r33 sedans - they must be coming out of hiding

Damn. I pass Heidelberg regularly (MacLeod isn't that far). I'll keep an eye out. (Only problem is Silver R34 sedans are becoming way common out that direction - I know of 4 I see on a regular basis - All N/As) But since yours is a GT-T might be a little easier to spot. Do you remember anyone following you home lately? Certain cars driving up and down your street - who are not your neighbours? People walking past your house regularly? I'm quite paraniod about it. If I suspect I'm being followed I pull over to a random street and lead them on, or if I know the area I lead them to a dead end street. If they look agressive/tough drive to the nearest cop shop or petrol station - they have CCTV and can record details of the suspect following you. Quick story for everyone: I was followed by a guy in a VN calais once - I drove to random streets, even double backed - he was still following me. So I pulled into a dead end st (court), did a U-turn and stopped, he must have known the game was up and he sped off - never saw him again. My conclusion: He must have been after my car (wanted to find where I live) or just some random guy being an idiot.

"Not quite" a half cut. Reason being is a "half cut" by definition includes the structural parts and generally the engine etc. Literally a "half cut" from a donor car. In this case - the panels are either purchased and modified to suit or custom copies are made up, Majority of the time there are no mods the the actual structure of the vehicle. I'd say more of a "re-skin" more than anything.

Could be one of those aftermarket kits for an R35 style front conversion. I've seen a few going around on the web. Here's one example - but its on an M35 Stagea - http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...ation-wagon.htm - Personally I think it looks quite smart. I "imagine" to fit it to a V35/G35 would not be too difficult.

I think (non-turbo) calipers are best coloured dark gold or any other dark metallic colour. Silver is ok too - kind of stock looking (think Honda Accord Euro) but gives you a nice factory fresh finish. If you paint them red (or any "loud" colour) they kinda look undersized/ricey as it draws alot of attention to the caliper - due to the contrasting colours. Definately each to their own I say.

Run a few tanks of 98 fuel. Remove any excess weight (stuff in the boot) - I'm guilty of having too much stuff there Check your tire pressures. Clean your throttle body - you will be surprised how dirty it gets. Try putting the pod in an enclosure or go back to a stock airbox and panel filter. You could be getting too much heat on the intake side of things. Also are you running fairly wide tires and/or air-con? This causes alot of drag (resistance).

He is probably confused with the non-road going GT500 race car. Eg. http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1025370...ered-gt500-gt-r

I think Monday (or any night early in the week) is a good night. Reasons being: - Less people out and about, as well as "un-desirables" - Might be easier to get a booking for a large number of people. - People generally have other commitments towards the end of the week Thursday, Friday, Saturday... Just a thought. But for me any night is good. Not fussed.

^ Now that is a classic reply

This thread still going? Biggest rotary vs piston engine debate I've ever seen....

Putting performance aside... These are the "stereotypes" in society: Ferrari = wanker/mid life crisis/sugar daddy/MILF hunter/low technical intelligence/pretentious GT-R = street racer/school girl chaser/cool/technically intelligent/real/I.T (or related field) nerd

Gunmetal or dark gold would look pretty good - goes well with darker wheels. Red would be good if you had white/light coloured wheels or if you had a wheel design with a chrome lip. If the weather is good this weekend - I'm gonna paint mine satin black - I have stock GT-T wheels

You make a right turn from the left lane so that you don't hold up trams. Hope this helps ---> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hook_turn

Yesterday arvo around 5PM, Spotted a red/maroon stagea with SAU stickers corner Heidelberg Rd and Station St, Fairfield. I was in my bluebird.

You have the advantage of having an n/a manual and have some tasteful mods - so you can always demand about 1.5k to 2K more. As WYTSKY said - depends on how quickly you wanna sell.

Hope this post doesn't come off as sounding like a smart a** or accusing anyone... I'm no legal expert either. I hang around that area alot. Cops "usually" don't really deal with motorists there they are too busy taking care of street crime in the area.... Besides its "too crowded" to even try a drag race However - if it is obvious eg. screaming engines, traction issues, even just having an overly loud exhaust they may suspect it especially with some hot cars around you. Remember to "drag race" you don't need to be overspeeding - just the "act" of it is enough to make them to go at you. And it doesn't help that you didn't do the hook turn properly - which they are quite strict on, few of my female mates have been fined with not doing hook turns properly or not doing them at all Sometimes it could just be a noob cop with not enough experience to judge properly... Good luck with it.

Yellow R34 coupe with CF bonnet at Northland shopping center carpark (Wood St side) next to a 350Z about 5PM. Number plates "G34RCE" (Geforce) or something to that effect - My short term memory sux....
