  1. hey guys sold my s15 and switched to a 33 pooline for a cheap bitumen sprints car/local drift car. Chasing 270-280 skrillas on 18 or so psi. Rb25 all supporting mods with an unopened engine. I've researched as much as I could but haven't found a good comparison on whether the lag would be less on the .82 71 but achieve the same power. Already have a 44mm t smart gate welded onto stock mani FYI. Up here in nth qld its hot as shit to and we don't seem to have on par figures with some.of the rest granted. Just seeing what people think. I'm leaning towards the 3076 in .63. Tracks are small so response is needed. Cheers
  2. Hey guys flicked through this thread but just chasing info... Had a kando on the Sr and now picked up a pooline. Just wondering whether the 4inch covers on the td06 25g fit low mounted. Aside from a spacer plate and extended studs I'm wondering if they foul on a stock rb25 manifold anywhere. I know the 3inch fits indefinitely but I already have some cooked Chinese low mount unit on there now with a 4inch pipe that I'd like to reuse if possible. Cheers
  3. my car is identical and as immaculate as these photos in this for sale ad. I don't have a sunroof though, I was never a fan.. kind of like an rb26 to me... i'd rather just have a friend who has one than own one myself. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Volkswagen-Golf-2008/SSE-AD-2504298/?Cr=7&sdmvc=1
  4. There are 4 with low k's for sale on carsales, mine is the cheapest and the only optined with VW extended dealership warranty. it's one of those i will regret it as soon as i sell it kind of deals. in a perfect world i would purhcase an evo and keep the golf because as a daily, nothing has yet met the well rounded luxury and performance it has... except maybe an r35 gtr (but i haven't owned one of those, only driven )
  5. Hey guys I live in QLD and am interested in getting an evo from these guys in Sydney. There are SO many mixed opinions on the dealership so I just thought I would get a bit of food for thought. I have found an Evo8MR I am interested in and of course the pictures look immaculate. Fish oil/tyreshine and cheap polish does not impress me and I can look past that, but I am suss on a couple of things that may just be the norm for imports. It is advertised as a stock MR, and it essentially is bar boost gauge and ARC manifold cover. The engine bay on the other hand has an aftermarket blitz radiator. It just seems weird to have a basically stock car with an upgraded radiator. Is this something common on imported cars from Japan? My first thoughtrs were a decent front end crash but I wouldn't think they would chuck an expensive radiator in as a cover up, unless blitz radiators are falling from the heavens in japan which they probably are. Sorry for the rant lads just need some input on the matter. The carsale advertisement is below http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Mitsubishi-Lancer-2004/AGC-AD-15110778/?Cr=4&sdmvc=1
  6. Random place to put up a VW but who knows! As topic states my VW Golf R32 MK5 is for sale. I ended up getting out of the import game and wanted something a little more subtle to drive around. Unfortunately the import bug has bitten again and I want to purchase an Evolution 8 MR. From the array of cars I have owned, the R32 would have to be the nicest, most solid all rounder I have jumped into. The cars has 35,000km and is one of the last few low KM R32's in Australia. To top it off it comes with $2500 worth of VW extended warranty till the end of September along with Rego until the end of the year. The car is immaculate with a polymer coating on the paint. Full leather interior, electric seats with heating, 10 speaker premium standard sterio, freezing air conditioning and one of the nicest sounding N/A 6 cylinders I have heard and voted by carsguide. Coupled with the DSG auto it is an absolute delight to wake up and drive without any fuss or wanted police attention. I am sorry for the absence of pics they will be uploaded a.s.a.p when I finish night shift for the next few days. Asking price $32,000 Registered/Roadworthy. KM/Mileage: 35,000km DSG Auto Colour: Black
  7. In so much love with the car. If it ever drops sub 17 let me know
  8. Curious on what sort of fuel pressure it runs must be maxing that 044 out. Love the trueness to jap parts right down to the yash radiator
  9. What's the interior condition like. Floor mats at all? Looks like there's no mick panel on to. Love the shit out of the car to. Curious at how it revs as well and where it revs to
  10. Did you get Odo confirmation yet. I'm in tville and interested
  11. Price Drop - $17000 till the end of this week if it sells it sells otherwise i will hang on for more offers
  12. well considering i just spent another 4 grand on the car not really. Doesn't hurt to make an offer though
  13. Car has been changed a little since deciding to keep, Now sporting Drift Blade interior black seats with POWERAILS rails. HIGHMOUNT TD06SL2-20G 10cm Highmount turbo FORCED MOTORWORK custom steam pipe manifold with 44mm Tial External wastegate 250kw on a VERY safe tune, Only finished less than a month ago and back up for sale again. Need house deposit by March.
  14. it's the same size as the resessed part of the vband that i normally see welded to. i don't know.. im thinking if i take the manifold off and have to weld it i will just sell up the 38mm and try a 44
  15. never thought the timing would of been an issue... reason i pulled some timing out was because it was knocking with all the boost creep
  16. 230kw with a shotty boost graph that ramps to 14psi and creeps to about 17-18+ by redline with very few degrees of timing
  17. this is a thought... the screamer pipe actually snapped off before the tune so it was only about 10/15cm long instead of the 50cm off length in the picture. would that play a part in the equation at all
  18. well i want to run 18-20 psi... but im only achieving that by 7k. if i add more boost to actually get a nice climb in 18psi around the 4-5k mark.. by the time it's reached redline it's creeped to about 24+ psi
  19. Hey guys, I posted this on nissansil but i seem to find a lot more people using sau, a lot more mature readers to. Basically went to get my s15 tuned today, sr20 standard bottom end all the fruit, high mount steam pipe manifold td06sl2 20g 10cm (kando in t2 platform) tial 38mm mvs gate. Issue is, using a .6 bar spring, as it ramps it's ramping to about 1bar of boost then as it increases from 4grand to red line it boosts to around 18 psi. My theories are - wastegate size could be to small but from everything i have read, there is no issues using a 38mm wastegate to control 18psi on a turbo of that size (very similar to a 3071r if your not familiar with mitsi ranges) - wastegate is fingered or fake - did pull it apart, diaphram looks legit and paid quality money for it. - position of wastegate on manifold isn't getting a decent amount of flow to the actual wastegate - scrap car and buy an r35 gtr sorry for the novel, help me sau! here's a pic of the manifold i got made for an idea of what the gate position is like - doesn't look to bad to me
  20. was there ever any confirmation on whether the antisurge housings were the main cause of dori's power loss. i found out they do a td06sl2-25g in a t2 form now in low mount but they only do it with the surge cover (unless i get a 4" one) they can come in two different types of surge covers as well which is weird, one is like a machiend ring around the comp and one is just the ryobi drilled holes. considering i will have to get it in one of these two options.. i wonder which is the more effective... if any type of anti surge cover
  21. hey guys, sil owner here! i've read through most of this MASSIVE thread and loved it, I just have a question for some of the gurus. If i don't sell my car, (sr20 s15 2871r etc etc), i plan on getting a td06sl2-20g. if i stay low mount then i don't have to worry about re-doing my pipework as it's similar to changing a 2871r to a 3071r t2 low mount where you can utilise the same pipework. NOW, is it worth getting the low mount version of this turbo in the t2 footprint, because I imagine it's very similar to a 3071r t2 where it's quite restricted opposed to it's full 60 trim t3 brother. Im looking for around 270kw and in my town of north qld our numbers seem to fall a little shorter than everyone online so i definitely want to make it. i have an external gate on my low mount manifold already with combination springs to hold 20psi so the gate problem isn't an issue, im more just worried about whether it's even worth getting that turbo in the t2 model and hitting my target. i am considering the 10cm housing as well as i have driven an sr with a .86 rear 30 series turbo and i honestly don't find it as awful as everyone makes it out to be and it might help to hit my target power area i use the 3071r comparison because i haven't really looked much into the mitsubishi turbos before, and from what i read specification wise that's the closes comparison i can get to a garrett ie: 2871 similar to td05 3071 similar to td06-20g, 3076 similar to td06-25g sorry if this seems all scrambled im hella tired! peace sau XD

The car has never been thrashed as it's tune only recently got completed a month ago. It makes 230rwkw on a VERY safe tune from an experienced tuner who deals with machinery worth millions of dollars. The car will be missed but I am at the next stage of my life. It will be missed and hopefully sells quickly. I take pride in my car and the list of modifications along with it's condition will sell itself - I am 25 years of age and not 17 with an edge wanting to lose my licence.
