  12. A recent post on Speedhunters titled How A 2,200hp GT-R Can Save The World was a good read and featured this Middle-Eastern built R35. Some quotes from the article; Some takeaways for myself; I am seriously impressed to see a car like this built, but more impressed to see it built in Qatar. I'm also impressed to see what its able to do in warm temperatures. The engine bay looks almost stock! Thats really cool. This cage looks amazing. Theres more pics of it on Speedhunters, its a work of art. I'm not too sure what I am looking at here. Can somebody tell me what this is? And some more pics from Speedhunters. Check the post and other pics on Speedhunters. So cool.

  14. 1984 Toyota Tarago V8 I have been thinking about selling this for awhile now, So will put it up to see how it goes, Not fussed if it sells really, but cant really afford so many toys, I have had this van for about 5 years, The motor conversion has been in it for about 2-3 years, It was originaly a 3Y 4cyl and 5 speed manual...... It was far to slow....... It now has a mild 308 Holden V8, The motor was built by "The Brock Shop" a few years ago, It has been very well looked after and very regulary serviced, It has ported heads with bigger valves, springs etc, ACL Flat top pistons, Fairly lumpy cam (unsure specs) Edelbrock performer manifold, 600 Holley, MSD Coil, Crane cams ignition unit, Crane cams electrionic dizzy, hi volume oil pump, Rollmaster timing gear, new hi-torque gear reduction starter motor, brand new balanced flexplate with new ARP bolts, usual good gear, It has a 3000rpm Hi-stall convertor, trimatic auto box, new Hurst pro ratchet shifter, Running Commodore diff (3:23 ratio, open, really needs 3:89) It has twin radiators with thermo fans, stainless steel flexable bottom radiator hose, (sprintcar style) It is running a twin exhaust, has stock exhaust manifolds (not gotten to modifying extractors yet, But have big ones to go with it) has twin 2.25" exhaust to 2 "Hooker Headers Aero chamber" mufflers, then twin 2.5" tailpipes, sounds great, The van is currently making about 200rwhp, was making 185rwhp with an extremely restrictive exhaust but is now changed, Will make more as it needs a tune, This will be getting done when I find time etc, It is Mod plated for the conversion and registered as a 308 with the current motor, Registration due in January 2013, The van itself does have some rust in the usual Tarago places, and the paint is a rough, few minor dents etc, would need a paint job to look the part again, Also needs a windscreen as it has a crack in it, but makes for an awesome sleeper as is, I am still fixing it up slowly and will continue to do so untill sold, It is a pretty cool cruiser and gets lots of looks (many unsure and confused ones) and definatly a whole lot of fun to drive, It is still an 8 seater van so you can go cruising with 7 of your mates May swap or part trade with cash either way, open to offers Will swap drifter, S14, something tough, Make an offer Asking $4500 ono (dont offer me $2500 then try to tell me you know more about my car than I do!) Car is Located in Redlands area, Brisbane, 0481109712 The bullbar is no longer on it but it does come with it if wanted,

  16. V35 Drag Racing Hi everyone, As we are all aware, there are plenty of videos out there of R series Skylines running the quarter mile, but not a lot about the humble V35 350 GT. For obvious reasons, they are not often considered for drag/track applications, especially against other boosted JDM imports. When the Perth Motorplex held a Nissan VS Honda theme night (not a fair match-up, I know...) in March 2017, where you could run your Honda or Nissan for $20, I thought "bugger it", and decided to give it a crack. Ill start with a bit about the car first- My Skyline is a 2003 coupe, with a 5 speed A/T gearbox. I have owned the car for 2.5 years and am the first Australian owner. It has the following mods- Tein coilovers, Godspeed front/rear sway bars, vented/slotted rotors, Injen CAI, Mace engineering 12mm plenum spacer and an Apexi 3" catback exhaust. I did a fair bit of research prior to running. According to "experts" on G35 Driver, they should be running around 14.7 dead stock. I was expecting 14.4 to 14.5 based on my mods, if these "experts" were correct. Boy was I surprised- my first run, with my brother riding shotgun and a full tank of fuel, netted a disappointing 15.050 @ 150.46kph, in full automatic mode (with power set to on). I also forgot to turn off VDC until my third run, which may have also cost a bit of time. For the next run, I booted my brother out of the car and saw an immediate improvement to 14.860 @ 152.67 kph. Still disappointing, but I knew I could definitely shave a bit of time by shifting manually as the car was shifting into 4th just before the finish line. I knew if I held it in third, I could squeeze a few extra kph out of it. I decided to let my brother have a run next as per the video below. We still lost, but we were constantly seeing improvement in each run. I believe he ran a 14.8, which was excellent considering I was in the car. He had an excellent launch too. Apologies in advance, as there is a bit of coarse language. My third run suffered from a boggy launch, and a limiter bash in second, so I only managed 14.975 @ 153.87 kph. I cant blame my brother for that one, as he wasn't in the car. My last run was the best of the night. My brother captured it on his camera, so I will link it in the comments once I have obtained it off him. My final run was 14.678 @ 156.03 kph. My car had finally achieved (and slightly bettered) what the "experts" said it should have done. I was very happy with that run, and decided to call it a night. I let my brother have another run, where he managed 14.7xx (again, I will link it in the comments once I have transferred it). By the end. I was fairly happy, especially when I learned that the two 350z's that were there only managed mid to low 15's. Is there room for improvement? For sure. Perth temps suck at that time of the year in the early evening. The temp was still in the mid to high 20's and it was humid as buggery. As many of you will agree, these conditions have a detrimental impact on performance on our cars. I also went down with a full tank of fuel- this would be the equivalent of carrying another passenger in the car. Considering I gained 2/100ths of a second by dropping a passenger, another run with low fuel and colder temps could see a considerable improvement. I may even possibly see the 14.4 or 14.5 I was chasing. When I uploaded my video to Youtube, I came across a few G35 and 350z quarter mile runs, and they were all running in the 15's. It just goes to show that you cannot always believe what you read on the internet, and that a "textbook" run is something that trained drivers achieve under ideal circumstances. I hope this info helps, as there was not a lot out there about what these cars can do.
  17. HKS EDA ETC Question Mistery Switch!? I have a HKS ETC and EDA system, but it came with a metal fourth mistery box that has a switch attached to it and a Japanese label. Does anyone here have an idea what it could be for?
  18. Fastest Pumpgas Street Skylines I'm running 93 octane USA fuel which I think is equivalent to RON98 and am curious what some of the fastest full-body, full interior, full accessory (PS, AC etc) skylines are running. I'm trying to get a benchmark for my setup. I'm currently on 20 psi boost and think that it will tip 130 mph soon and be in the high 10's on 255 hankook RS3 tires now that my boost control issue seems sorted. Curious what target numbers are out there. If you have some pumpgas (non-E85, non-racegas, non-WMI) time and mph runs please post them here. Thank You, Patrick Here's my last time at the track with bad boost control (spike, pull timing and boost, then slowly recover). 60' = 1.772 330 = 4.837 1/8 mile = 7.363 @ 99.14 1/4 mile = 11.288 @ 126.26
  19. Drag Rear end set ups Hey all Im looking at changing the rear end of my r33 gtst. runs about 400kws at the wheels. im struggling to get any traction even on a well prepped strip and slicks. At the moment it just has a welded diff and lower springs with soft shocks, What can i do to sort this?? video-1477097823.mp4
  20. Hi Folks I am after a set of rear drag rim/tyres that will fit a R34. Something along the lines of a 16" rim and a MT ET street. You know, the kind you have in your shed and bought and used once and then never again kind of thing and it's just sitting there. Sell to me, so it can continue the cycle of life after it sits in my shed after being used a few times! Please PM if this applies, Cheers!
  21. Hey guys I have a pair of drag radials for sale, literally did one run at Calder with a Bmw. 245/40/18. Basically like new. Plan was to run them on my Gtr and get another two but not going that direction anymore. I paid $780 for them, I’m after $500ono. Located in Melbourne and prefer local sale.
  22. G’day Had a good look through, however surprisingly hasn’t been covered. Looking at getting a bit more squat out of the rear end of my R32, currently has quantum racing coil overs which are more suitable to circuit work. With the discontinuation of the HKS Hipermax drag coil overs what are people running these days for trips down the strip? car is by no means an all out drag car, i use it for as many different events as possible, however wouldn't mind having a set of rear coil overs to bolt in when looking to do some drag passes Cheers,
  23. r33 gtst rear drag setup suspension Hey guys just need some advice, have gone to heasmans to look at getting a proper rear suspension setup for my r33. They have suggested a bilstein adjustable coilover, for drag and street use. Im confused however, they mentioned the rears would have a rating of about 8kg, I was under the assumption based off other threads I would be moreso looking for alower kg rating such as 4kg? I have limited knowledge about rear coilover suspension hence going to heasmans. Just wanted some clarification before spending the money, Cheers
  24. Hey guys I need some help from some fellow members I’m in the next stage of my build and that’s suspension the car is my r32 four door but I need to lay the power down to the rear what suspension is every one running these days ? Rang just jap talking to them they recomaned bc coils but I am open to options the car will be setup for drag racing the set up now is way to hard
  25. Not my first time posting the results of my fun times down the strip, and certainly not going to be my last. Please see my video below documenting my adventures. After setting a PB of 14.2 @ 159kph back in October 2017, I decided to take my 2003 V35 back to the Perth Motorplex back in may before they closed up for the winter. The car should have been in great form- freshly serviced, a set of splitfire coilpacks (installed after the car threw a code) and some stainless steel test pipes (shedding 16kg of weight alone). I was gunning for a 14 flat, maybe even a high 13, but alas it was not meant to be. Despite a higher top speed (160+), I lost 2/100ths of a second and kept running 14.4's all night. It appears the car has picked up in the top end, but the 60ft times suffered. Where I was redlining 3rd previously, I still had an extra 500rpm up my sleeve. The only things to do now would be a tune, and maybe a 3:65 manual diff, so with bonus time coming up at work, that's what I'm planning for. But at least I know there is room for improvement! Mods as current: Apexi single 3" exhaust Stainless straight pipes Plenum spacer Injen short ram intake Grounding wire kit Splitfire coilpacks Tein coilovers Godspeed front/rear swaybars Factory Rays 19x8/19x8.5 forged rims with Achilles ATR Sport 2 tyres Please have a watch of the video and feel free to leave your thoughts below.
