  1. Walking through WTAC pits is a mine field fullstop 😆
  2. Hey! Thanks for that it great to meet you sorry wasnt for long was hetic Hope you enjoyed WTAC! Yeah we upped the rev limit in 5th gear and just wound that out rather than a shorter change to 6th and back to 5th again around T1 and wow it was screaming its little RB tatas off 😄 That arvo session I had to go out! I hadnt had a proper run since the morning session on Friday so was my only chance to go full send Theres a reason the top teams dont go out because the track was absolutely junk! I had to have a crack and my 1.31.1 prob wouldve been a low 1.30 in a morning session in fact I was up 1.2 sec on my 1.31.6 coming into T8 even then but the tyres literally went to mush Still managed a PB ad 6th in Open class not horrible for a guy that gets about 10 laps a year on SMP and only booked 3 hot laps The car is very good now But wow it was a hetic WTAC might do a run down just got home yesterday from 4 day drive back to Perth
  3. thanks mate. yeop thats me ....they turned my tired ramblings into something decent which was nice 😁 I shouldve just said refer to SAU for said history ... its pretty much alot on here haha
  4. Youd think.. dunno All these engines run Tomie B pro poncams This becomes above my pay grade and rely on others and get I quote "your decision making powers have been revoked" 😅
  5. medium amateur ?? VCT rather have than not and they NEO heads anyway... agree shouldnt be down there in revs agree but one does stuff up at times and does help 😁
  6. who'd have thought and some compression 🤔
  7. in reality the new engine was a swap alot because it was brand new vs 3 years old and the other one needing a refresh after wtac anyway but... the 2.8 is obvious capacity etc and will do current power more easily and add some responsiveness not that that was really lacking the limiting factor with all this atm is injectors (ID1700s at 4 bar base) and turbo (precision 6780) literally being maxed out at bang on 1000hp as thats what the system was designed to do, so to go more need injectors, turbo and maybe even intercooler but i know a guy that like his power and will see how this all unfolds it is a rwd drive on an 050 tyre though and i am just a complete amateur so among other things the ability to drive it becomes a consideration also
  8. Its was definitely cold 🥶 us w.a people dont take too well to it We even took to doing 2 warm up laps to get to the tyre temp we wanted Update for those that want a read A week before Aus Time Attack in Vic did a prac day got few laps then carbon bonnet decided to fold on itself whether it too much air under the lip, a pin failure or just pin not cliped in it happened... got fab guy to plate it 2mm ally each side and wrapped it. 15kg heaver but solid and mad max ready to race Greg from Sydney Comp having a new carbon bonnet ready for us for WTAC Off to Aus Time Attack at Winton for first time another 3.5 day all day drive Did pretty decent with 4th in Open class and 6th outright with 1.24 flat Way more in it I was just too inconsistent to extract a quicker time without more track time and by the time I got decent enough to drive a good lap the tyres where cooked Still OK Drove the car straight up to Sydney and put in storage ready for WTAC flew home to Perth Blaaa blaaa the opportunity came to replace the billet RB2.7 with a brand new RB2.8 billet nitto wide journal complete engine a round about deal was done and Dahtones put it in this week and Brads tuning it on Thurs The RB2.7 would be avaiable for purchase from Racetech is anyone wants it such a killa engine !! Apart from that its back into storage till the new bonnet gets put on and I rock back to Sydney in 6 weeks on the Monday before WTAC to prep the car get some practice in and send it and see what happens! Update over ... for now 😁
  9. For real life ! 😅 Hows that guy at 1.25 min in thinks he's still a drifter !!! Geez it was so slippery most of the time
  10. Msg away 😆 obviously I didnt get specific details about what you wanted etc but know the Emtrons can do most of the same as M150 and little cheaper Otherwise M150 yeah does absolutely everything but you do pay extra to add on this and update that ie: logging normal vs pro package etc traction control - well helps hold my car 😄 obviously combined with other tuning factors built in blaa blaa we work it off wheel speed sensors for Bosch ABS and have setup for various slip percentage selectable via keypad
  11. awesome work mate ! Emtron for ECU I recon (dependant on tuner) but link is pretty good can you buy expander box ?
  12. 👌 awesome work mate. Time to see it on the track. Gonna be good
  13. no probs I got 1 maybe 2 coming with me atm ... yeop hopefully advance in times and all that - fingers crossed - just looking to push and get better - tis all we can do its have a go right
  14. Hey Yeah ill be there ! Hussling hard now to get seat time and make car all good see if can get some early track time over east 🤞 Itd be really nice to have some luck 😁
  15. Genuinely 👌 Custom 1300 piece 1:16 (i think) scale of my car based off pics etc with full instructions and packaged etc using genuine LEGO Guy in Poland - SPLineup on the www. 😉 or insta Wife did it as surprise said good experience dealing, took 6 months first correspondence to receipt of product
  16. FYI if interested Brake rotors got taken down to 389mm for clearance and all things adjusted accordingly #bolton Had a quick retune of the retune to change the VCT window plus some of this and that Took 7 weeks for me to get a barrell of fuel to run my car on the track = W.A Actually attempted to drive this thing on the track after 6 months when this shouldve really been 3 monthly ago Only a few laps - stuff didnt go right because electronic aids in the car mean you drive it a certain way when its indicated they are on and they are actually not things dont go great quickly - car fixed and refreshed + thats been fixed with additional warnings and other thing built in now Noted - even mucking around at prob 60 - 70% the aero was now hitting the ground where it hadnt previously at 100% plus the balance of the car is improved - hence without shock pots etc etc you can tell the new aero additions have done something reasonably significant Suspension out - change the bumps and some packers Tried to go out again - lightning and thunder storms / rain in Perth for the first time in 50 years for the hour I had - didnt get out V8SC are now here so no track time at Barbs for many weeks - an going to try go down to our other track a few hours away and try to get in the seat Got the below as a pressie recently - yes I dont mind the odd lego + this is very good I think and if not into lego even can appreciate someones craftmanship of this level
  17. Oem std front sway and new oem end links mate Rear recently moved to 24mm whiteline sway using the links that came with that
  18. No running a bmc replacement under bonnet. Pretty much a pedal box with individual masters just using std pedals and have bosch accelerator pedal foe dbw also Does the job but def not the best... but like verything itsnon the list on the list. Maybe next year if I win lotto
  19. Something similar was actually discussed not long ago as well as a spray into the cooling system Thanks mate, sorta just had a crack. Why not. Pretty much proper pedal box and flappy paddles maybe and refine Yeah mine came over with setup in it from my data and other stuff then got refined when he was here Lol 😅 yeah did see the bosch situation... not great no thanks Wtac '23 ...Have my fastest hotlap that I put up on my iface page and the lap after that. Everything else disappeared somehow but wasnt that special anyway Dont know whoe to put it up on here coz im technologically challenged hahaha 😆
  20. Have alot of bracing on std front subframe now and chromoly version is in the works. R33 oem tie rod ends have become a consumable Its like anything. Balance. Ask an aero guy putting brakes ducts in theyll throttle you. Brakes guy wil need ducts. Engine guy. Need more air for cooling but the aero guy is gonna kill you. Its all a balance We are talking about running these at max limit of everything for one lap or two Like ive said previously, these did the job enough yes, but also tryna push some more now and id rather not f**k around and find out trying to brake at the 50m mark not the 65m mark and it gone wrong type thing Yeah look at 600hp and 80% braking in a race i could prob get 3 decent laps out of it as is. Maybe more. Ive never raced..... Regardless the rears are / were std 34 gtr 30 yrs old brembos with a single piece rotor. Thats just not going to be optimal then you throw into the equation the the tyres are only really good for 1 lap.. tops 2 (but always proven not as fast all things being equal) Then you put everything together above as discussed and you get to a decision. And this was mine I used to look at the topish time attack cars and honestly used to think all this was more simple and sort of black and white buy good expensive stuff, this and that and race but as always everyone does things differently and not everything is that easy and works that way. Im trying to listen and follow those way more experienced than me rather than guessing anymore Either way, by no means am I saying im special or awesome, I put some of what Im up to and all this out there for people to see and read where usually unless you know the person or workshop with a car like this you dont get to see or hear alot about the happenings most of the time. At least I havent Opnions, questions and debates are good and welcome
  21. 100% Good stuff
  22. totally agree which is why I have stayed with what Ive got till now and ran full r34 gtr brembos for years till I went past that limit obviously the above brake kit is genuinely to the upper end of any braking system needed for most motorsport and maybe overkill but still have to have the hardware to do the job and not just Even just sprint/ time attack 1 or 2 lap dash type thing what I have on now, which is at the lower end of where youd want to be, at SMP in 14 hot laps over 3 days I chewed about 70% of a new rotor and pads where ran at 60 % of max power half the time and other at 80% power the brakes did OK for my first go but also really only because of ABS was letting me go past where I should. We also found by T8 hairpin on first hot lap it was starting to get hmmmm and T10 i was pretty much trail braking through necessity due to brake fade and thats on the ABS let alone another lap will now be looking to run at least 20% more power than previously + some other things on a full hot lap So if you go a kit in between what I had and now and the above - itd still be an awesome big brake kit so same would still apply its tyre grip and would it do the job yes - but but calculation and speaking with others once again just or still running it at 90% capacity and tbh the price difference isnt that much Hopefully with this there are no if, but, maybes and once again the only let down may become driver skill / ability which Im OK with
  23. nice - pain in the butt to get that in and setup/ installed but good when done - you running sensors off hubs not shafts yeah ? it will be interesting thats for sure might take a bit of getting used to def think lucky have setup data to adjust ABS etc to optimise asap and just tweek from there I gather It will be - not going to be running the max high coeffcient sprint pad just a normal race pad as got told "it'll rip ya face off" otherwise 😅 Tis alot - hopefully now never go wanting i'll say 3 - 4 weeks tops for for testing again .. car is very close and im on holidays for a bit and waiting for e85 delivery (welcome to being in w.a haha)
  24. 3 - 5 mmm to spare on barrell measurement exchange across the tasman 😆 if not have contingencies in place and will take it down to 385 tis 36mm rotor
  25. Changed tact with the thoughts on the braking situation have gone with a tried and proven complete GT monoblock Brembo setup Fronts: we should be able to squeeze a 395 rotor in, just .... Rear with 355 rotor Should do the job 🤔
