  1. BTW, anyone heard of elder insurance?? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wt...tr-t279638.html Sounds dirt cheap... hope they'll call me soon for the quote.
  2. Yea... I doubt I'll wash my car there again. The soap will take away the wax/polish. I'm sticking with the gentler shampoo I've got now. =D Colin: You should try the Mother's reflective coating. Damn good in terms of look and feel/touch!
  3. Did you look at every single 1 on carsale? I saw a black and a blue 1 thats around 26k or 27k. I would presume you'll be able to nego it down to 25k.
  4. Hey? What happened? I was gonna ask you about your new tyres. They're Kumho arent they? KU36? My mate's looking at getting 1 of them but still couldnt decided to get Federal SS or KU36.
  5. I have read a lot about them and was planning too to get 1 for myself but nobody has even posted the dB figures. I've never heard from for myself too so... its a bit of a bet on my side if I where to buy it. JustJap have them instock now and the price was 1099 (didnt see if its delivered or not) but if you can get a custom highflow that passed epa for 1500, I will go that way to get rid of the problem as a whole. I dont think any Jap will pass the 90dB its just that some will be around the 90-92dB range which will be sufficient to not get any attention from the blue guys and they should be below 90 if you dont rev it (thats what I normally do when I pass by, sometime I even throw it into free gear or clutch in..)
  6. Tas: Those catco and x-force cat all come flanged fyi. Noel: is the whole ERD team going for the cruise? I might dropby and have dan check my fuel pump. Someone mention about having that checked before getting it tune just to make sure its not fu**** and not able to supply fuel at the right pressure. I think its fine though but wouldnt hurt checking.
  7. I'll have to get a day's off for that... Maybe after I've tuned the car after this month. If Streeter's got the stock for the ecu and boost controller that is... Anyone going for the cruise at all??
  8. why do you have to book? I've never book before and always got a seat. I doubt people book too...
  9. Joe: I've tried that before... no use! Maybe just KFC or Nando at Kenmore nothing more.
  10. Discrimination against white!
  11. The fact that the person who posted www.japaneseusedcars.com pretty much shows he doesnt have much import experience. Considering the risk and knowledge involved would you advise such a person to do it? Answer is NO. As detailed both in Richard's post and yours, theres a lot to importing than just picking a car online like ebay or yahoo. You will have to know people or have contact to inspect the car properly as well as doing the middleman bit. When the car reaches Aus, thats another story. You will have to get it quarantined, cleaned and complied. If quarantine/clean isnt organized properly your car's gonna sit at the wharf with you paying the "rental" each day. Its not funny when I've seen people posting these. Like you've said you'll only be saving that 1000 if you get the car for yourself but the thing that differentiate importers are the quality of service, advise and contacts. I'm not saying its not good to import yourself (I have looked into this option before), but at least do your research SUFFICIENTLY enough to ask people question. Most people here are very helpful IF you ask the right question. At the end of the day, everything is possible but considering the majority and the current situation, it will definately be more advisable to buy local unless you're after something more exclusive. Saving money in this case is definitely not the main concern.
  12. +1. If what you said is workable, everyone would be importing and selling cars (I love your job Richard!) as most here love cars. Someone told me if something is too good to be true they normally are. My advise is to go with Mark Hocking from mytrading or IronChef from the forum. Both are excellent bloke and I'm sure they can source the best car for your given budget. Richard: Thanks for all those import advises you've provided me with when I was looking for the 34 but things didnt pan out the way it should be. =(
  13. Hey you've got me thinking for a min. Even if the fuel pump is working ok, it might be advisable to get a fuel regulator as well. But is that thing even legal? If its not I'll give that a miss. If I do get it, does that mean I will need a new fuel rail as well?? Thinking about something like this, http://www.nengun.com/hks/adjustable-fuel-pressure-regulator
  14. How do you check the pressure? Well I would love to have a HKS one but at this moment, I dont wanna use up everything in my bank =x If the Catco one will last me for a a couple of years it'll be good enough. Like I said, I'm happy with the amount of power drawn with the level of mods I have (if it does come up close to 300). Another thing is if you have stock dump/front pipes, I dont think changing the any brand of cat would make a significant difference and probably the factor to condition is durability instead of power. If a HKS cost 800 and Catco 200 and the power difference is 5kW with Catco lasting you somewhere between 2-5yrs and HKS a lifetime, I would go Catco and use the spare cash for something else. The next mod on the list would be coilover and after that if I get a lil serious, I will have the cat and front/dump pipes done as well. At the end of the day, it might be the same logic as exhaust size, a 3" is a 3". The amount of power/airflow is more or less the same doesnt matter which brand you go with. The fact that we want a JDM exhaust is because of the quality of welding, finish, sound etc. But in terms of power/airflow, its bugger all difference for the price you're paying. PS: Correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I've picked up from reading on people's experience.
  15. Autotech...? I'm bring mine to Autotech too but in Gold Coast and the tuner's Gavin Woods. I wonder if they're affiliated. BTW, isnt SS the equivalent of N1s? Is there a link which details the turbo in terms of power output (from a noob point of view). I did a search on the forum and all I could find is people's experience with different turbos and their built. I'm still learning... =D
  16. I think the dumps are the same for all variants of 33s so but dont know it it'll be any less restrictive comaparing to the 32s. But looks like it'll be a good comparison. Which workshop is tuning it for you?
  17. The easiest way to check if thats the spec of the car is through Nissan Fast. Get the VIN number of the car and post it on the Nissan Fast thread and someone will tell you if thats a vspec or not and all other information you might want to know. Alternativelty, if you can visually inspect the car, bend down from the back and look at the differential (I think thats whats its call, ETS Pro), it should have fins on it if thats a vspec.
  18. Is that the cheaper Catco or the more expensive one? I'm actually thinking of getting the $180 bucks one since so many people recommended them.
  19. Looks good! I dont reckon you should go any further to make driving more enjoyable. Else you will doing the "Arggggh" sound everytime you hear "Krrrrrr". lol.
  20. Croat: Fine and good examples of GTRs are consistently snapped up at what they're worth. I remembered sometime last yr when I was in the market for a vspec 2/m spec (before I decided to buy a house and get 33 instead) and I saw this black 200x (forgot the yr) v-spec 2 going for 69k which was at the upper range of that variant (to me). True enough the owner figured that that might be a lil steep for most people and he might be in a rush to sell it decided to lower it to 64900. I checked it out and the owner was not keen in going any lower than 64k but it was sold within 1month after lowering. This is not just the only case, when I was searching for the 33, I've seen 3 others before this 1 (all range below 28k) and let me tell you, someone who doesnt have the time and knowledge or even money to spend to get these GTRs up to standard will not even bother looking at them twice because thats how bad they are to me. And mine was probably posted on carsale for 1month or so before it was sold (a mate of mine who was looking for a 33 during that time told me if I hadnt buy that he was going to and he ended up getting a series 3 from NSW). True that a lot of GTRs are up for sale and stay up for sale for a long time but seriously, those good ones will have no problem finding a buyer. But I do agree with you, you might be able to get them cheaper in 6months time but definately not vspec 2/mspec/nur/n1/ etc. I still keep a look out on the auction (autosquare etc) and the only ones that are dropping are vspec and non vspec and not really by a lot. If you're thinking about car depreciating and keep postponing the buy, let me tell you, you'll never buy the car. Because every 6months and 1yr they WILL drop (cars generally dont appreciate and these cars we're talking about just seems to hold their value more than the others).
  21. Johnny: A well conditioned BLACK V-SPEC II will fetch somewhere above 65k easily. I reckon black is the most sought after colour and also the most highly priced. BTW, very nice car and choice. The non vspec and vspec on the other hand are somewhat the same in price and its really just dependent on condition.
