  1. Temporary movement permits can be purchased from a Licensing Centre or over the phone by calling 13 11 56 paying by credit card. Dept of Transport can only issue temp permits for the purposes of inspection/repairs, and the permit is only valid during the 48hour period if you are driving the vehicle to or from the locations you have written on the permit. All you need is the engine or chassis number and where you will be taking the vehicle, and you can purchase a permit. $13.80 was the old fee, they are now $20.80.
  2. Simply put mate, if you drive like a cock on the roads and try to show off, then yes, you will get pulled over and given a hard time. If you drive like any other normal driver then no, you won't get pulled over. Every time i got pulled over i was being an idiot or doing something to attract attention to myself....
  3. This one is for me and me only
  4. When i changed the clutch in my S2 R33, i put in a Exedy heavy duty cushion button clutch....was a wicked clutch just took a bit of time to get used to. I brought it from Clutch Brake Australian in Malaga for $600 i think? Put it in myself
  5. My brother knows the guy that owns it. This GTR is absolutely immaculate, well worth buying! I should have brought it lol
  6. When i took my skyline over the pits the mods were - 18x8.5F, 18x9.5R rims, they failed me on too little tread on the tyres, not the actual rim size De-cat pipe - didnt have to do en IM240 emissions test and the IM240 was in well and truly at the time Full turbo back exhaust - they did not do a DB test FMIC with pod filter and blocked off factory BOV Coilovers - my car was 105mm lowest point from the ground and they passed that. I took my car to Welshpool pits, was easy to fix by chaning tyres when i got failed just for that lol.
  7. SKYRYAN - If you get a yellow sticker and want to de-register your car, you just hand in the number plates and take the sticker off yourself. It doesn't cost anything. If there is any remaining registration on the vehicle when you hand in the plates, you can fill in a Vehicle Licence Refund Form and get a cheque for the amount of rego remaining. You still have to take it over the pits to re-register it though....
  8. Whenever you purchase a temporary permit, you have 48hours in which the permit is active, however the permit is only valid if you are driving to/from where you have written down on the permit. With regards to 3rd party insurance on rego and permits - if you are at fault in a motoro vehicle accident, your car is rego'd and your driver's licence is valid, and you injure another person in the accident, then the gov't 4rd party insurance covers the cost of personaly injury only. As i'm sure most of you are aware, 3rd party insurance for damage to private property etc is only through private insurance companies.
  9. If you go to a Licensing centre to get a permit, they will need either the plate number or Eng/Vin # and the records will show up the the vehicle is rego'd, so your best bet is to either put in on a car trailer to get it there or drive it there very carefully. As long as the vehicle is rego'd and it is "road legal" or "roadworthy" as the police would say, then you will be fine. So, you can't get a permit for the car coz it's rego'd
  10. if you just brought a bunky for day to day use, why bother wasting money and insuring it?
  11. My 323Ci has one of those flaps in the left exhaust pipe from factory? Easy to remove though...
  12. You can't compare F1 cars to road cars. Those motors rev to 18,000RPM andonly last 1000km's. And just for the record, in the late 80's the F1 motors, especially the BMW motors, were a 1.5L 4cyl turbocharged running up to 60Psi boost pressure, and those motors were making over 1500hp....
  13. A JZX100 Chaser or an E36 M3.
  14. Holy crap, $23k for that motor? Wow....
  15. I've seen motul oils at Motoquipe in Morley Galleria....
  16. Go buy coilovers - so much better.
  17. Triple garage + triple carport = win :D
  18. Hey Dan, that second photo was taken on Donovan Street in Osborne Park - i can see the Mr Auto sign in the back ground, im good friends with him lol The GTR looks quite nice, but i would also say 10-12K. You would easily fetch 18K+ if it was rego'd.
  19. Haha! So you have finally got your P's and are driving around by yourself?
  20. Ahahaha thats gold Char!
  21. Correction - They are 8.5" fronts, 9.5" rears. Not sure on the offsets....
  22. Ok sounds good Roy! Cheers for the advice. I'll keep this thread updated every time i do something. Soon to come will be some nice dark 20% tints and removing the mudflaps
  23. Ok, thanks for that. I have heard of people installing the aftermarket headlights (AE/Projectors) & LED tail lights, and it causing problems with the electrical system/s?
  24. Ok no worries. I won't be looking at buying any rims within the next few months though. I have the transfer fees to pay and then i want to do HID's and LED's first. So I am just after a rough pricing guide on some rims+tyres so i know how much i need to save. I'll also be doing some dark tints before rims too. I'll be looking at an 18 x 8.5 front & 18 x 9.5 rear. Does anyone know where i can get some angel eyes? What i am really after (as stated a few times before ) is the 330Ci headlights (if i can find a pair....)
  25. What you have done there Chris just proves that if you are willing to fight it, at the end of the day you will usually win due to the fact that you were doing nothing wrong and had a perfectly roadworthy car
