  1. I looked at a 1995 R33 GTR V-Spec yesterday for $22,000. It seems to be in magnificent condition with 82,000km's on the clock. The chassis feels tight, suspension is good, engine is responsive and the panel+paint & interior is all in pretty darn good condition. Just need to get it compression tested and checked out. So it is possible to find a good one at a low price
  2. Hi guys, would you be able to check these 2 VIN numbers 1. 1995 R33 GTR V-Spec - 6U900BCNR33005989 2. R32 GTR - 6U9000BNR32002902 I am looking at purchasing either of these vehicles so I want to confirm they are both GTR's and what factory options the vehicles came with etc. Cheers for the help! Jace
  3. Yes Kaido_RR - I do agree with you, the S3 R33 GTR's look much better but there aren't any for sale in WA. Yeah I will check out another R33 GTR and see if it has the same "marks" upon those pillars. Lol this GTR has Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tyres on them (i think that's what they're called) so they are expensive
  4. With regards to what seems to be "weld marks" on the A-pillar, the marks look exactly the same on both sides of the car, so I am thinking it could be a factory blemish? I'm not too sure but the car drives really nicely and the engine is nice and responsive etc.
  5. I had a look at a 1995 R33 GTR V-Spec today in Mindarie. Looks very very clean and in pretty good nick with just over 80,000kms on the clock (standard dash). However I am not too sure if the vehicle has been in an accident prior to being imported to WA. Where the A-pillar meets the roofline, just under that point on both sides there are what seems to be small weld marks and the paint on the roof and rear guards looks to be "newer" than the rest of the car. The chassis rails, insides of the doors, under the bonnet and in the boot, all seems to be dead straight so I can't be sure. Took the car for a drive and it drives smooth as silk and the chassis feels very very tight. I'm pretty sure the rear left suspensino strut is farked, but other than the car is pretty darn clean. Here's the link. Anyone ever seen this car or know anything about it? http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...5&silo=1011 Cheers guys!
  6. What a waste of a thread.
  7. The seller didn't say anything about a deposit from the potential buyer flying in from Adelaide....
  8. Hi Canute, Cheers for your advice mate, much appreciated. Yes, i will be waiting until Tuesday/Wednesday and seeing if the "over-east" buyer does materialise or not. My mechanic has been in the business for 20+years and does have a fairly broad knowledge of these cars however he is by no means a specialist in GTR's. He does have certain diagnostics equiptment to conduct a compression test etc. As the seller has stated in the ad that the GTR is "un-modified" - this is incorrect, as the vehicle does have the Power-FC AND the HKS Exhaust System already fitted. Must get going, gota go out for my brothers birthday!
  9. Hi Terry, I did ask the seller today "if I pay a deposit of X amount of dollars, how long will you hold the car in order for my self to pay the remaining account". He said he wasn't too sure. My parents don't have a mortgage and they won't give me any more to buy another car, so I'm on my own. I have considered a loan of up to $20,000 with the remaining amount coming from the sale of my BMW 323Ci. I have already looked into loan repayments, interest rates etc and calculated that after fuel per fortnight, i will be able to make repayments with plenty of $$$ in my pocket etc. I had my older brother with me and we could not find any rust or any evidence of an accident in the form of bent chassis rails etc etc. Even underneath the car there are no marks from jacking the car, so it has always been jacked upon the correct jacking spots. I will have another chat with my brother over dinner tonight and from there will sort out my options. I may just wait until Tuesday and then call the seller to see if it has sold. If it has, tough luck, if not i should have a little more time. Yeah i'll grab the VIN number and run it through VINS Fasted. Cheers for the advice
  10. Yeah i think i'll wait till after Tuesday and see what happens. Hopefully the guy that looked at my beamer last night buys it so that way i can put the money in the bank and get interest on it. The comes the process of saving for a 34 GTR and finding one that is immaculate =\
  11. Martin - yeah i understand what you are saying. He may be bullshitting about the buyer from Adelaide, however he did tell me that the buyer emailed him copies of his flight itinerary to prove he was actually flying over to Perth (obviously i havn't seen this). The seller told me that the guy from Adelaide has offered $42K with the power-fc and exhaust or $40.8K without them. He told me that if I am to buy the car, i will need to offer around the $42,750 mark so he can then cover the costs of the guy flying over from Adelaide. Now I can either give him a deposit and then buy it mid-week, or not do anything and see if he still has the car by late next week or early the following week. But i doubt he is bullshitting anyway....
  12. Saw the GTR this morning. Is in absolutely immaculate condition inside & out. As Rohan said, the only scratch is just below the front right headlight on the bumper, other than that everything is perfect. Nathan & Tom - yeah i understand that I need look around for the right one, and yes $40K is a lot of money to spend on a car, however sometimes when you look you hit the jackpot on the first go. I spoke to the seller, he said the guy that is flying over is brining cash for $42K and will buy it on Tuesday. I have to let him know if I am going to purchase it and place a deposit on it. The seller said he is happy for us to have it inspected by our mechanic so no probs there. I just need to think about purchasing this as it is a lot of money. I obviously need to sell my BMW but I may get the funds for the GTR, buy it and then have the BMW sell within the next 1-2 weeks. The owner did advise he has ALL receipts for ALL work performed on the car, even receipts for when the dash cluster was swapped for a Nismo one - so he can prove the KM's on the motor. Everything with this 34R sounds perfect and the owner seems to be very open and genuine about what has been done to the vehicle and why he is selling. I need to let him know by Monday, so I need to sort out my finances and see if I am able to do this!
  13. Ok no worries, cheers for the info. I'll be seeing the car tomorrow morning with my older brother and we will look for any signs of poor care/maintenance.
  14. Ok no worries. Hopefully this GTR lives up to my standards tomorrow and hopefully my car sells tonight
  15. Yes ideally I would prefer a V-Spec or V-Spec II, but I can't have my cake and eat it too I will have my mechanic check the car and hook it up to his diagnostics equiptment. Are there any common problems with the R34 GTR non-vpsecs?
  16. Ok, i just spoke to the seller, he told me someone is flying in from over east on Tuesday to view the GTR, so obviously they must be very interested if they are flying halfway accross the country. I will be viewing the car tomorrow morning and getting the owner to take me for a quick drive. This kind of sucks, but i need to sell my BMW quickly - I have someone looking at it tonight so I hope it sells, but please spread the word as I need it gone! If I go through with the purchase of the GTR, I will have my mechanic check it out on a hoist at his workshop (long time friend and reputable mechanic). Cheers for the feedback, keep it coming
  17. Haha yes Bubba - I have always wanted one so i figured it's time to bite the bullet and buy one. But, i need to sell my car asap though! Do you think the price is too good to be true? Yes, it does look very clean & un-modified - just what i want
  18. Morning all, As topic states, I may be buying a 1999 R34 GTR Basically I am after some information about the purchasing an already registered R34 GTR. Now, having owned a R33 GTS-t prior to this, I am very aware of the R34 GTR's performance, reliability etc, however I am also aware that the GTR is a completely different kettle of fish to that of the GTS-t. I do have a fairly extensive knowledge base of the GTR engine & drivetrain and I know they are pretty much bullet-proof. The specific GTR I am looking at is located in Perth and seems to be in immaculate condition, low km's and un-modified. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the history of this car or if anyone knows the owner? (Link is at the bottom of this post). I know it's a bit of a short post, and this has probably been done before, however any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Also, I don't want any "the price is too low and it's probably a lemon" comments - just helpful comments please Cheers, Jace. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=11252840F076
  19. I was just curious as i may be buying a CLK430
  20. I had a look at those forums, one of them is still under construction and the others done have many posts, i.e., the last post in their "general " section was over a month ago. So i kinda guessed it would be a safer bet asking here lol.
  21. Shhhhh bubba, i'm don't want people to know i'm lazy
  22. Hey guys, I've looked a fair bit on the net but I'm getting confliction information. Now I know this isn't the correct forum to ask upon however i can't find a Mercedes Forum in Aus. Do any of you guys know the stud pattern to the CLK430 (1999-2001), i'll be buying one soon so I want to line up some rims with nice dish and offset
  23. I know im right, i work for licensing
  24. the reason nothing was ever said to you when you were pulled up etc, is because your licence was not suspended. The client MUST start the suspension. Transport will not start the suspension, the client has to by signing paperwork or going to a licensing centre....
  25. I do not agree with this rule, however it would make a lot more sense if they brought in the kw/tonne rule. I can gaurantee it would reduced the amount of fatalities and serious injuries on our roads directly related to p-plate drivers.
