  1. Hey Brandon, want to check out the black S3 GTR for me this weekend
  2. Oh damn that black Series 3 is so hot. As too is the midnight purple one! This is making me change my mind to import one from the Eastern states. The engine bay in that midnight purple S3 GTR looks bloody clean!
  3. I have always liked the R33's, and i love that rounded fat rear end I'll end up buying an R33 GTR V-Spec as I'd rather keep it relatively in my budget, and I don't want to have any finance owing. From what I have heard, this midnight purple 33 GTR V-Spec is in immaculate condition inside + out, just waiting to see & drive it on Saturday/Sunday
  4. No worries, cheers.
  5. Pewpew - I'm just going buy what the seller of the R34 GTR told me. I have not seen the car around since so I can't be 100% sure, but I do know that it has now been sold.
  6. Char - yeh the link is dead because the R34 GTR did sell to the guy who flew over from Adelaide. Yes, could you please find some info on the R33 GTR mentioned. Cheers
  7. Here's the VIN # for the Midnight Purple R33 GTR V-Spec 1996. 6R91MPORTWH2R1001. I know this seems like a strange VIN #, however where I work we record all VIN #'s, and this is what is on our records for an immaculate R33 GTR I'm considering buying. My assumption is that this VIN # was issued by South Australian Licensing Authorities (that's where it was imported to). Would be appreciated if you could check it for me! Cheers, Jace.
  8. As Canute said, let's not sidetrack this thread any more. I will be viewing a few more R33 GTR's on the weekend and will post updates as to the conidition etc. Cheers
  9. Sweet, thank you. I also have another VIN to post up for checking tomorrow. It's for a 1996 R33 GTR V-Spec. Will post tomorrow morning. Cheers
  10. Yeah, I know it all comes down to money. If i can get a high 12 out of it with a few mods and still have reasonable fuel economy, I'll be happy
  11. Yeah, I am aware that the oil pump drive's on the 32 RB26's were weak, so Nissan did strengthen them.. Maybe I'm just being a bir paranoid about buying a GTR, but I just want one that won't give me any trouble or throw a rod lol. Now, onto the modifications you can do. Say if you do a turbo-back exhaust (de-cat), pod filters, boost the turbo's a few pounds higher than factory and install a power-fc, how much awhp should if expect within reason on a safe tune?
  12. I have had a look over east and there are some nice S3 GTR's but i really can't be bothered trucking it over (risk of damage to the vehicle even though it is insured), and getting it rego'd. I'd rather look around and buy a nice one over here that's already rego'd and complied.
  13. Obviously I'm not going to be expecting the reliability of a brand new toyota corolla out of it, so I'm expecting to be spending some dollars in the way of maintenance etc, however I just want to know if they are a generall reliable vehicle, coz hey, being a GTR, you're going to have a little bit of fun with it, right?
  14. Bubba why must you assume that my foot will be welded to the firewall at all times Yeah I know it may not be a cheap exercise, but yes you do have a very valid point. How reliable are the R33 RB26's? I mean say it has a few resonable mods and is either running stock boost or slightly more than factory? And assuming you give it some curry every now and then....
  15. PM sent
  16. The seller of the R34 GTR did not mkae up the story about the interstate buyer - so that GTR is now sold. Too bad I say. I think a 33GTR would be a better option for me anyway. Jonn - the reason I will use my mechanice is because my brothers have known him for 10+years and I've know him for 3+years, I trust him, and from the presentation of his workshop and the way he treats his customer's & their cars, I know he won't screw me around when we inspect it or service it. Canute - the reason I say I would want to replace the oil pump is for peace of mind. I have known a few new owner's of R33 GTR's who have had the oil pumps fail shortly after purchasing. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid, maybe not. Either way, I don't want any major problems with whichever GTR i buy.
  17. Martin - you know exactly what I am saying. If I were to buy a modified GTR i would make sure it's been done properly.
  18. Yes i understand that mechanical components on these vehicles do fail, however from a sensibility point of view, things like oil pumps and water pumps should be replaced by the new owners as soon as they acquire the vehicle. I don't care if the seller tells me they have replaced the timing belt and water pump 5000kms ago, for my own piece of mind, I'd do it again as I am aware it is expensive to fix these cars.
  19. I'm not sure if you are aware, but the reliability of a car comes down to how you drive it. I bet the youg kid that brought your R33 GTR James, thrashed the living shit out of it hence it has problems now. If you find a performance car that has had little to no modifications and has had regular servicing, and has experienced a reasonable life + owner then you should be right. Yes there is the chance that it could be a lemon, but I'd rather take my chances buying from an older owner.
  20. James - I don't mind Rohan's LM, but the fact is that even though it's a limited edition and only 98 were produced, they won't appreciate at all. Basically, what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter if it's an LM edition or a V-Spec, it's all about the condition. If I were to find a R33 GTR with low low km's and in dead stock IMMACULATE condition I'd pay up to $31-$32K knowing that I am buying a car that won't screw me over. From what I know about this midnight purple GTR, it's clean, straight and (no offence to anyone young on here) hasn't had any young owners. The current owner is 55 years old. I'm sure you can see my point. But, I will continue to look around for an R33 GTR (pref a V-Spec) that suits what I want.
  21. I'm also going to take a loot at this Midnight Purple R33 GTR V-Spec 1996 model. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...7&silo=1011 Seems to be a reasonable price, however i won't be able to see it until Sunday at the earliest.
  22. yeah just put a car cover over the car, or a piece of tarp or something so if the cat pisses it just runs down onto the ground and not into your cabin air intake haha. I think the secret ingredient in Passiona is "cat-piss"
  23. How did you fit the xenons to your series one? Do you mean the actual headlights are that of a series 3 gtr? (as they are projector headlamps).
  24. yeah it's nice but i dont like the rims and too many km's for my liking as it will be an everyday car....
