Nsm026 Is On The Road... My Quick Review!
Lil_Bobby_260 replied to Lil_Bobby_260's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah rims are next - im going to put some decent semi slicks on the stock 17s and keep them for track days. For the road the car will get a set of 19 or 20" rims. Hard thing is the 20 - 30 offsets front and rear i think. The engine bay is very tidy on it. no grease, oil, coolant stains, worn bolts, loose bits or anything. all i did was hit the black with some so easy tyre rejuv and wiped it clean. Its immaculate under there. -

Yeah the nismo ones have the flutes up the front, and if you look closely you can see the autech ones have a wierd spot 2/3 way toward the back where the bottom edge lifts up for some reason. You cn see it a lil in the first picture. Looks gumby. THere are a couple of other differences to such as the top edge on nismos that starts above the flutes angles down to the rear wheel arch, on autechs it is straight parallel with the bottom of the doors, the angled downwards edge on the nismo ones looks nicer. Just personal taste i guess, i like the look of the nismos a lot better. -

If this was for sale at these dollars when i was buying my autech, id have bought it! Swap for an immaculate 65,000km black 97 260RS with nismo suspension but otherwise stock as a rock? Never touched including exhaust and intake... PLEASE..... -

Thanks Unique1 (i can remember your last few usernames but not ur actual name haha) I share your opinion on the bulky autech kit - seemed a bit large but still understated and bland compared to some of the other kits out there. I still dont like the side skirts at all - so if comeone has a set of Nismo or nismo replica sideskirts and wants a swap for genuine autechs - lets do it! But im starting to love the front bar. Looks good. The only other front bar id go for is the one in the thread i posted in the stagea classifieds section. -

standard turbs... actually i guess the boost comes on early enough going by the guage, its just it doesnt start making serious mumbo till high in the rev range. -
nice pic cy hahaha like the argument you were sent too. I for one am sick of hearing about fuel... i wor full timeat autobarn and 15-10 hours a week at a shell petrol station - ALL I HEAR IS COMPLAINTS ABOUT PETROL PRICING that i dont even respond when people mention it to me anymore... i just smile and take their money.

Thanks again for the positive feedback guys!!! i get my licence back in 6 weeks so will have to definitely organise a cruise for some time after that! will be good to take it for a drive without worrying about the boys in blue haha... Im looking to do a dyno run at Northside 4x4 in a week or two, then install the cat back system, K&N filter and boost control set to 10 or 12 psi, followed by another dyno run. I figure 10-12 is a safe boost figure. -

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! Stoked to hear your thoughts. No its not from Zele-international... whomever they are. Yeah it is one of the nicest condition imports inside and out that i have ever come across - even underneath is immaculate. Im inclined to believe that the 65,000km are genuine. There is no wear and tear on the seats at al, the brake rotors arent worn any more than youd expect for the km, no indication of anything being pulled off the motor (ie marks on boltheads/screw etc) and the stock radio hasnt even been removed ever. Very honest car. Cant wait for the next cruise! Hopefully i can KEEP the bloody thing - missus is hounding me to buy a house! I'll know within 6 weeks if im putting it straight on the market for an even $30k or keeping it. Women. -
So yeah, first drive today. Car lags in first gear a lil til about 3500-4000rpm then absolutely launches, up til 8000. Lags is barely noticeable in 2nd and 3rd due to the engine being in its desired rev range already. The clutch is heavy under foot but VERY bitey, still trying to get used to it. Power-wise i think an aftermarket exhaust is going to beef it up a lot mor, as you can hear the amount of air its trying to push through tthe stock one. It sounds very... forced. The exhaust tends to pop occasionally while changing gears. Nice. I think it needs a new air filter too... the nismo one it has is fairly decent, but hasnt been maintained. Will be getting a K&N from work. Breathing mods should make a difference. Car handles fantastically on its Nismo S-tune coils and shocks, and the brakes... well, theyre Brembos. Definitely do the job! It tends to break traction when shifting into second for a lil bit, even with the kumho 225's all round. The guage showing front torque goes right up to 50 anytime you are in first or second and hit boost pressure with the foot down. I think it would benefit greatly from the addition of stiffer swaybars front and rear, having a lil bit of body roll through tight turns, though its definitely stiff enough at the moment to get the car into a controlled slide in second or first gear, til the atessa pulls the car straight. Car gets a LOT of looks! Especially by young and old guys at the lights and petrol stations etc. I think the plates are easy to read and effective... The nismo clear indicators are a big change for the better over the orange ones nissan supply with it, and the $200 i spent on Phillips Crystal Vision H4s, H1's and parkers give the whole front end a uniform whit light through the low/high beams, foglights and parkers. In need of S2 taillights to finish that look.

Another Wheel Fitment Question
Lil_Bobby_260 replied to msports180's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Neil i feel your pain brother... crrently trying to find wheels that fit MY 260, being that you need to run different offsets but same widths front and rear. Im looking at a set of wheelsthat a friend has on his R32 GTS4. They are a 20x9 wth diffrerent offsets front and rear to suit the GTS4 setup which seems to be akin to the 260. -

Grand Theft Auto Iv For Ps3 And Xbox360
Lil_Bobby_260 replied to Beer Baron's topic in PC & Games Discussion
has anyone had issues with this game along the lines of the graphics all flickering blue/black on the xbox? im nearly thinking it is an overheating issue. It only does it with GTA4, all other games are fine. Only does it on my xbox, works fine on others. Once you get about 5 minutes of gameplay, the graphics go really dark and flicker to bright blue. if you turn the xbox off then on again you get about 2 min of play. if you turn it off and let it rest for longer (ie cool down longer) it will play longer. Bit odd? again, only when its GTA4, xbox is fine with any others, and only on my xbox, the game is fine in any other. Just when you combine MY xbox and THIS PARTICULAR game, it effs up. Theories? in before xbox 360s are shite... -
im about an hour south of noosa, i think i might be the closest. there were a couple of guys up that way on here but havent seen them on here for a while.

i think that if the 38c/l exise and then 10% gst on fuel went TOWARDS something like funding the development of aussie oil dips and refineries etc, people wouldnt be so pissed off at prices, being that there is something productive being done about it, and there is a clear, logical reason for the tax that relates to how we pay it. tolls = building bridges (gateway etc), fuel tax should equal developing a means for cheaper/more economical fuel solutions. This would also generate aussie jobs.

i was working thismorning and took the call to change our prices from 137.9 to 154.9 for ULP. Premo went up to 164.9. hard to justify a 17 cent increase overnight... the reason the fuel prices change so often, tho, is a mixture of competition from other retailers, and how much it is going to cost the station to replace the fuel currently being sold out of the tanks. You are paying for what your fuel was BOUGHT for, your paying how much it costs for the retailer to fill that portion of their tank back up.

Lil_Bobby_260 replied to MyStag260's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
that looks effin outstanding... cant wait! You having your din guages done the same way? Urs and mine are gonne be exactly the same which is good - i can be assured they will be spot on. bobbeh Still, im in for paying a lil more if there are less people. -
Not buying fuel from a specific retailer does stuff all. like i said, they dont even make 5c/l off of it, barely enough to cover the cost of tank maintenance.
-
petrol RETAILERS do not make sweet FA off selling fuel. This is why they are all starting to be bought out by large retailers such as woolies and coles. They are the only companies who can make it work and not run at a loss, by cross-selling groceries etc. Wanna know why 'pay at the pump' was canned, and why we still pay for fuel AFTER filling, and not before? because the retailer goes backwards. The only area they make enough money to open their doors is by cross selling in store. When people pay for fuel first, or pay at the pump, they dont make a dime cos the customer doesnt walk in the store. Ive worked in petrol stations, and work in one now, and have a parent who recently resigned as South QLD manager for a petrol retailer. ive seen p/l reports. The government excise is 38.1c/L, and then there is gst on top of that (tax on a tax). When they lower that it will help, but that is a LOT of dollars nationwide that the government would just get from us in another way.
