  1. *sings* "Haaaaaaaappy Burnout to you..." *stops singing for fear of damaging own ears* happy birthday Brett
  2. Even though I saw Steve's pics last night (Tuesday), I only just noticed he posted a few pics of the new VE Commodore... Shows how much attention I was paying to them, hey!?!?!
  3. THAT's the wastegate... If your new turbo doesn't have a "little flap thing" like this, then you need an external one.
  4. Thanks, dude... Meh, just realised the error of what I was saying (and no need to check howstuffworks.com). I was actually thinking of the actuator - stupid me... CORRECT INFORMATION: So obviously it's not a Skyline/Stagea turbo, so you will need to add one - can't use the factory one because it's part of the turbo and can't exactly be removed.
  5. Is it a standard turbo that's been hi-flowed, or a completely new turbo? If it's a hi-flow, it *should* already have a wastegate on it (assuming it's a Skyline/Stagea turbo that's been used to do the hi-flow). Not sure if you can use the standard one, though - sorry, can't help you there.
  6. Rob, "25X Four" is a non-turbo (RB25DE) AWD. The shifter might be different because some used a different-spec autobox, I think. (I'll have to check that, though...)
  7. Mine have a neat, flip-down cover on them so they look less dodgy when they're not being used. I'd take photos but my digital camera recently died, and the camera on my phone doesn't take good night-shots.
  8. Not sure if these photos will help, Andrew, but here goes: From the rear seat: G-sensor for the ATTESA: ...and again from the front driver's seat (with the console off): It's right here: The airbag computer (which is held down by those TORX bolts you mentioned): And a few pics of the handbrake mount... from the passenger's side: from the back again: and from the driver's side:
  9. Saw that red/maroun Stagea again tonight in Blacktown or Seven Hills (NSW) at around 7.30pm, I think he/she must live around here somewhere... If I'd seen the plates, I would know if it was definitely the same car or not.
  10. I think these are the only Stagea's I've ever seen in non-standard colours... I don't mind the first one, hate the colour of the second one, and the R34-fronted one looks close enough to the R33 dark purple to get away with it and look good in the process...
  11. Spotted a Silver s2 R33 GTS25t this morning, looked over at the driver, and saw an older-looking guy, Indian in appearance, and wearing a turban! Not what I was expecting to see, that's for sure. The car was really clean, too! I hope, for his sake, that tomorrow's rain (expected to last until next Tuesday) DOESN'T come. As much as we need the rain, it looked like he either spends a lot of time keeping it clean, or had it washed this morning.
  12. Justin, you are a MASTER!!! I'm guessing having lived so close to the action has given you good exposure to where all the strange and unusual stuff Japan has to offer is hidden.
  13. Have you already put the new R34 SMIC on? If it hasn't already been washed, you should do it. Block one end of the cooler, get a kero and petrol mix (50/50, totalling around half a litre) and pour a bit into the intercooler and give it a good shake, then tip it out (no, NOT down the drain), and repeat three or four times until it starts to look more like the mixture that went into it in the first place, i.e. clean!
  14. Hahaha, they're all in one complex, so it's kinda hard to miss!
  15. Stacker, Mike? Just make a bunch of CDs with MP3's on there, and the need for a stacker is long gone!
  16. Cyrus, I found some links to SWAT, but I can't read Japanese either. I'll post them up anyway, and maybe someone can help us out. One is (I think) for SWAT itself, and the other two are about a member's car and Stagea's in general. S.W.A.T. Owner's s2 RS Four S S.W.A.T. team info... Hope it helps.
  17. As far as I know, the front windscreen is usually UV-blocking anyway, regardless of whether it has (or someone pusts) a visible tint on it or not. And they are laminated, so when it breaks it's supposed to shatter, but not fall to bits and leave millions of little shards of glass all over the car and the passengers. I'm guessing the front windscreen tint is an ADR thing, not just depending on each state's own laws. I think I might consider lightly tinting my front two door windows, just so people have a harder time looking in the car - I don't usually leave stuff visible in my car (this is ASKING for theives), but there is some stuff that just can't be hidden in a glovebox. Another reason why I want black-face gauges is because they won't stand out anywhere near as much.
  18. Spotted a grey R34 sedan this morning around 9.15am, it turned right off Old Windsor Rd/Briens Rd at Northmead where the Shell/McDonalds/KFC/Pancakes complex is... Didn't catch the plates.
  19. Alright then, boys and girls - who's up for another cruise or meet-up? I organised the last one back in April this year (LINKY...), so is anyone going to volunteer for this one? Maybe wait until Mike gets his car?
  20. I thought it was more than 9 digits. Last time I was in Perth I regularly saw a Commodore ute at a boat store in Freo with the number plates "Street Machine." I think it was their workshop ute because I saw it there around 3-4 times, and was wondering 'Wow, how long is that plate?' In Sydney we have a max of 6 letters/numbers...
  21. Any chance of sharing the price of that ARC kit, please? If not, or if you'd rather PM it to me, that's cool...
  22. Please remember, peoples, that parking around there is a b!tch, unless you use a parking station or find a spot EARLY on Sussex St. I've been to Genghis Khan in both Chatswood and the old city location when it was in Kent Street, and can highly recommend it for those who've never been! Will confirm my attendance closer to the date.
  23. Spotted a dark (might have been gunmetal grey, didn't get enough time to look properly) 4-door R32 heading West on Parramatta Road roughly 7.30pm, and it turned onto the entry for the M4.
  24. I was there, as was Richard (Beer Baron). I had the Stagea but parked down in the side street. Was an alright night, fairly informative but a bit rushed. It was supposed to go for 2hrs, but went for about 45mins. Was good to see how much difference that proper attention to paint prep and protection can make. It would have been better if there was less traffic noise (and some clowns insisted on talking through it), and the guy doing the polishing didn't really expand on when questions were asked. Not everyone uses an orbital or rotary buffer, either.
  25. I hope you'll be doing a better job of securing them to the car - like maybe socks and shoes?
