  1. This one, Kory - although the blurred trees in the second shot add to the sense of speed, they're distracting to me. Matt, that sounds awesome. Seeing as my car is a very dark green, and the location had very little light, I'm thinking we use Bulb mode and go for maybe 40-45 seconds and see if it comes out better. I've already got a remote cable release for my camera, and the camera has a time display on the screen (as I'm sure most would) to tell you how long the shutter's been open.
  2. My only regret is that I couldn't take action shots from the car and drive at the same time, but looking in the rear-view mirrors and seeing (and hearing) two or three GT-R's so close to the back of my own car was AWESOME x11ty!!!
  3. Kory and Matt, you're more than welcome for the "chauffeur service" on the day - I learnt some photo techniques from you guys too, so it worked out well. Win-win situation! Here's my effort on my friend Evan's R32 GT-R, which he'd bought that same day and decided he'd surprise me with. Once I properly* process the photos of the other cars that attended, I'll post them up. *Disclaimer: the use of the word "properly" is relative to my lack of skills using PhotoShop and LightRoom.
  4. Hmmm, I'll try and get out there this week if the rain slows or stops enough.
  5. Here's my effort from Saturday night's photo session with Kory, Matt, Eric and a bunch of GTR owners. Massive thanks to Kory and Matt for the "tutorials" on my first attempt at light-painting! This particular car was bought that same day by "NinjaEv" Evan and only rocked up around a hour before we finished up for the night.
  6. NNNNnnnoooooooo, don't say that, Dale - mine is dark green.
  7. Quadruple EPIC score right there! Lucky we're not playing Scrabble or sumsing, it'd be a close-run game... Evan the super-ninja was stoked today when I spoke to him, and is looking forward to seeing the shots of his car. If I'd known he was buying one, I would have told him to come along during the day as well, seeing as he and his wife live in Penrith right near the F4 freeway. They're two of the nicest, calmest people you could meet, yet they're both like 11ty Dan ninjas in whatever martial arts they do.
  8. So, the old thread is too large. Feel free to continue various discussions here, or start new ones! They might even be related to cars, too, but that'll be your choice. Anyway, just to keep with the food theme of the old thread, may I say I've taken a special liking to a certain salad over the many years I've spend on this earth. Meat Salad: chicken, pork, beef, ham, sausages, bacon, lamb, etc, in various combinations! May even sometimes include fish. The beauty of it all is that seeing as I only really like pork fat (especially crackling) and chicken skin, and I don't really eat that much of either, I can remain relatively healthy! :P Discuss.
  9. Ummm, that'd be YOU, Shell!
  10. OK peoples, any photos and chat should go in the Wrap-Up thread I've just created...
  11. If you were to become a member of SAU-NSW, you'd have easy access to Federal tyres at an AWESOME price - the cost of becoming a member will easily be covered by the savings you'll make. All you'd have to do once your order was in is to wait for them to arrive, then take them to have them fitted to your wheels. Details in my sig...
  12. What, engine out???
  13. Spotted three R32s, an R33, an R34 and an R35 (all GT-R's) over the course of the last 7 hours or so... Oh, and some clown in a silver Evo VII...
  14. The second part of this post is full of WIN!!!
  15. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ca...&hl=Coastie Every Thursday night (I'm there almost every week, but sometimes I head up early so I don't stop at Berowra because there''d be no-one there).
  16. Matt, Kory's right about those shots being pr0n - I especially love that last one!
  17. Thanks man, some of those shots were hard to do because I was using the articulated screen to compose them, and trying to hold the camera still while pressing the shutter was a bit awkward Afternoon quickie? You're doing it wrong!!! Great subject for a photo, but try composing using the "rule of thirds" and you might get a slightly better result. I love the vibrance of the purple.
  18. Spotted PN-Mad tonight at the Coastie meet-up. BTW, where are the rest of you Sydney-living mo-fos?
  19. Each to their own, I suppose. I don't mind some tattoos on a girl, but it depends on where they are, what they are of and how big they are.
  20. I've left this open up until now, but now that you've got a few answers I'll close it. Anyone else: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...er-t228238.html
  21. I've left this open up until now because you're out of the general Sydney CBD, but now that you've got a few answers I'll close it. Anyone else: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...er-t228238.html
  22. Figured I might as well add my photos from the Motor Show while I'm still online. BTW, using LR3 and uploading directly to my Photobucket (and Facebook, when I add that plug-in too) from that is nice! Shame I cut the roof off slightly on this one: Got dish? Evil brakes! (This was actually image 666 shot on the 60D) This colour was REALLY hard to capture correctly...
  23. i.e., what bnr#@ is saying, Matt, is that your EXIF data doesn't show up, ya dirty punk! How are we supposed to figure out your secrets? Oh, I will also say that those shots are awesome. Sidd, that second last shot, when I first saw it I thought to myself: "Damn, that dude's just married a hottie and he's gone and fallen asleep on her. What a clown!"
  24. I was at Homebush tonight, and there looks to be a few good little spots in the industrial/commercial area not far from the restaurant strip, so it should be alright.
  25. Just under $128.00, Kory. The lens itself was US$1,040, compared to paying ~Au$1,500 if I bought it here in Australia. I'm guessing if I'd bought the battery and filters separately, I could have gotten away without being hit for the extra. I know the warranty for a camera body is only valid for the country of purchase, but aren't lens warranties world-wide?
