  1. LOL thats whats fighting for 1st position at the moment. Either an SS1PU or a GTX.
  2. If I do it will be coming through Stao. I want to support the guys business and his prices are competitive considering the level of service you get. In a couple of weeks ill balance my numbers and see if I can still afford to keep my 6boost. Highest likelihood is that ill be running the stock manifold with a bolt on type turbo though, it just free's up so much more money for things that are more necessary. Plus I also think a ballistic 230kw response monster will turn out better than a 260kw average lag monster lol theres just a higher likelihood of a better result with the lower power bracket. Going for more has a higher risk that it might just be too laggy.
  3. Noooooo! no varex lol i hate those things.. too much that could possibly screw up on them. keep it simply IMHO!
  4. Lol @ smash cat. do it once do it right Trev, don't pay for 2 tunes coz you couldn't afford a real cat. You will need to retune if this one is a restriction and you change it later. and yeah, you can YOLO it and smash it out. Mines permasmashed lol
  5. Havent decided on a turbo yet, no. The deal coming up this weekend puts me in a much better position than I expected, so ill be able to make a comfortable choice, with the all star type products back on the map. Such as GTX series items. I mostly want to give Stao the business though, so I'm hoping my mind tips in his favour once the money is ready to be put where my mouth is lol. as for who will finish first, I'm confident that will be Ron1 as his is a daily and I'm just a unlicensed hobbyist. I am committed to getting back out to Wakefield though, so I'm not wasting any time either - just the lack of necessity will govern my priorities as always. anyone wanna make a turbo suggestion? I'll be in a position to impulse buy next week if necessary lol
  6. Lol @ backhander good news guys, have collected a deposit for my DE+T and will have all cash by the weekend. build is back on track!
  7. LMAO same boat Dave, always the cars fault and wants a holiday ASAP. Ahhhhh sigh. A dude is potentially giving me a deposit tonight for sale of my DE+T motor with install into his car this weekend. That will be such an epic relief and I can get back into finishing this farken motor.
  8. Haha thanks for the sympathy battery, keen to see your new results too! I went poncams for my SR too, woo! LOL Simon I wish my Mrs could see that keeping me busy makes me happy For her just living and spending every free moment together just isn't enough!
  9. LMAO my girl is generally pretty good man, she just doesn't understand the point of building the car rather than just using it as it was bought. I could be worse off! But this situation is weighing in heavily at the moment. LOL ARTZ so true man. No don't waste money on your car, take me out for desert 4 nights a week instead and buy me gifts I don't appreciate. FUUUUU
  10. I don't want to say too much, but I'm actually in quite a pickle. Mass problems at home with the Mrs shutting down my operation, I need to justify spending $3 at 7/11 these days. Cant even buy a freaking can of drink. Its stressful to a point I'm pretty depressed and all I want to do is enjoy my car. Its not that she doesnt want me to have one, she just cant understand the difference between buying a 10k car and building a 4k wreck into a 10k dream. Such is the reason for all my indecisiveness and hold up on my usual nature. At present I'm trying to sell my 6boost and DE motor, and am in talks with Stao about a cost effective stock position low mount. Hopefully the sale of my 6boost and DE motor can fund the majority of the remaining build, then its just one more argument so I can fork out for the tune.
  11. Good to know my original kando performs so well hindsight is such a bitch lol
  12. Epic. Man that goes to show a RB25 20g is a good thing, that's a good time. reckon those intima race pads would be fail on the street for hard driving? Too hard on rotors? Poor cold performer?
  13. and you missed the bit about the intima pads old timer lol
  14. lol unfortunately i didnt have the torque for that. or the power. *sigh* hope my new motor is a new level of awesome.
  15. how were the intima pads jez? I want a set of those also. fark 1:09 is fast. best I ran was 1:18s, if any of you are on my FB watch the video. I have intentionally edited out the bits that show my car being out horse powered by fairly stock honda civics lol. the worst part for me was having no real power until 6krpm and the stock 3.7ish diff in the S14. for the most part of the track I was bumbling around in 3rd with no real power. Ill try post a video tonight if I can.
  16. let me guess you dont like the kink on the straight? I was never game enough to take it full throttle hey lol...
  17. LOL Nice photo in the dust ARTZ. Dont worry my 200 saw plenty of time off the track when I was at Wakie too. Freaking rained and I didnt like losing to WRX's LOL
  18. its certainly not that it CANT do it, but rather than you wont want to. sure enough it will work, but for the effort of a full external gate setup on a heavy breathing RB30 I cant honestly see that it would be justified to make 240kw.. plus, the easiest way to do this setup is hanging a gate off the ex housing and using the stock manifold. if he hangs a gate off an 8cm for the RB20 and then buys a 10cm for the 30 he then needs to get the gate moved over. just flat out sounds like money is leaking away and overall performance is not on par.
  19. what your wanting is pretty far fetched. its two different ball games unfortunately, and what will be laggy on an RB20 would still be too small for an RB30. thats how different that are. its really wasted money getting a tune and all that then putting in a bigger motor and needing to do it all again. a turbo that will work on the 30 will just make you cry on the 20. a nice reliable setup for your 30 though, you can get a hypergear G3 turbo which is more or less a bolt on with the stock manifold and dump pattern. there are videos of a RB30DET R33 with a basic G3 bolt on smashing a 600cc bike on here somewhere. Epic fast it seems, go check it out. yet if you got that turbo on the RB20 you would need a tiny housing which would still be laggy.... and using the correct housing would be horrible on the 20, and a waste of money to do both as stated prior. i say wait till the 30 is built.
  20. hypergear highflow or ss1pu .64 for 230ish kw, complete bolt on no hassles. TD06SL2 20G 8cm for 260kw if you want full external gate no expense on supporting mods spared. personally I'd put a ss1pu in stock housings on an RB20. Wouldn't even need to think about it.
  21. Results are 3" on RB25
  22. agreed that drag+auto = a totally different ball game when it comes to response. its got very little in common with response on a street or circuit car. have had a 3076 on an old school 4 pot feel as responsive as a T25 SR with the right cam and stall combo. easy to do, just useless around a bend.
  23. Surge cover for sure. They are a winner on those turbos. I think the CEA design wheel works well with it. I will PM you a quote I received for a friend!
  24. US spec 93 is better than our 98 for sure. I would put our 98 closer to US 91, but a little better. There is no direct comparison. As has been said, 700+ is a big number for pump fuel. Yet im not surprised. Its likely to be calculated engine HP, plus the level of discrepancy that we are used to seeing. When I saw the result I gauged 450rwkw, which is a walk in the park for a 6766, the only questionable thing is US pump 93 and if its good enough to support the number.
