  2. Haha nah man that is congrats! weve all been watching you fret over choice for ages. Its good news that you have taken the plunge! The 5558 is more responsive than the 5858, so im not about to tell you its the wrong choice as we all know it can make killer power!
  3. dont get the line till you have the turbo yeah. the order information i gave you is correct. the SP housing has the surge slots. just get the one i mentioned and stop fretting about it.

  5. Yep that's an external gate. I would want it to be a simple housing with a v band out. Not the old 5 bolt housings with a plate adapter, is that possible?
  6. My car is actually set up for T3 high mount now, do you have a housing for this or will you need to make one?

  13. try get a running motor. pulling the motor appart will cost you a motza to do it right. you cant put a RB30 straight in as it will need an ecu and tune at a minimum. 2nd hand motor, pop it in, rock on out.

  17. WHOA hang on, Ive just realised something rather important. PT is advertising that item is a 56.5mm turbine.. Now normally they advertise the exducer size but I am thinking this is the turbine inducer. AKA a cropped GT30 turbine ala HKS 2835 spec. A normal GT30 turbine has an inducer of 60mm and an exducer of 54.98. However, the HKS spec 2835R has a 56.5mm inducer turbine.. The cropped one. To back this up the internal gate housing is just a run of the mill GT28 spec thing. AFAIK that is BAD news for us pissy 2L boys. Thoughts there Roy?
  18. I have been building though, Roy. A very basic setup but I wont be affraid to throw 25psi at it if I have to. Forged slugs, stock rods, race bearings, studs, springs, retainers, cams. Most of the work is done just need to get my crank crack tested and the springs put in the head. It was Mick who did the asking for me on his recent trip there. Mick let him know about the type of setup im building and projected output and drivability, the verdict was that the 5558 isnt going to delivery the type of performance I want. I am envisioning it will be more like a 3076R, which I drove an SR w3076R on the weekend and it sucked HARD. Ive sent off to see if I can get a PT 5130 for similar money to the 5558........ If I can then I think its a winner. PT market it as a replacement for an actual 3071R, meant to out perform in every way. See what the price is before I get too amped.

  20. thats more or less what I'm chasing but isn't the 5180 an old t3t4 based dinosaur? yavuz at unigroup seems to have talked me out of the 5558 and back onto a simple 20g. Just as well I ran out of money before I hit the invoice

  22. rather than waste money on postage sending it back, just ask him for a discount on the external gate housing. you will need a 10cm housing for the RB25, 8cm is 2L size.

  24. lol its not definite yet, but I have the invoice for a 5558 .64 was going to pay it this week but funding fell short will need to wait a few more weeks maybe
  25. take it to the strip and verify if its right by your trap speed thats more or less the only way. to me it looks quick enough, but maybe a little less than 246kw
