Yeah right!
I have said it before and I will say it again.... After driving your car (and I have since driven Steveo's) you would be silly NOT to go that way. They rev, they do everything a 26 based block does... just better. You only have to butcher the car if you have a 32... the other two is no real issue.
I will say this though... if you have the engine out and WANT to keep the original block you have rocks in your head by staying the standard stroke crank. 77.7 mm at the very minimum. It makes the car so much nicer to drive!
Grant. As good of a result that people have good power with stock dumps...there would have to be more to be made with a larger... Ie tomei, midori dump pipe.
That quote was the wrong way around. If you get tuned on the United juice (E85) and you throw the Caltex juice in which can be E70 you will run RICHER AFR's as there is more petrol in the fuel. As I said man.... I have run both and have even done a hillclimb event on most of a tank full of the Caltex stuff... Not a issue at all. If i was to do a trackday at EC of course I would make the effort to drive to Rozelle and stock up on the wicked Jungle Juice.
Marko,
Mine has been tuned on the united stuff and has run both that and the Caltex stuff AFTER the tune. Both have copped a beating its just that my tune is not on the very edge of what can be had. Yes when I can I do make the effort to go to Rozelle.
How often do you drive it? Just take a jerry can. No big deal.
If your REALLY worried about it... get it tuned on United and if you have to fill up with Caltex just pull a few degrees of timing out of it.... Remember on the Caltex stuff you will be running a tad richer (as there is more petrol).
Man up... do it. You wont be going back.
Ahh te old BOV debate! I have no idea why people want to change something that works!
You have just described EXACTLY what I am experiencing. Since going to the duel entry ARC core I had to block off my BOV's with a bung... So effectively I'm running no BOV's. It has created havoc with the tune. I was under the impression that all that crap would stay with this kit! It pisses me off that much that I am going back to a nismo single entry cooler so I can have my precious BOV's back.
Cut a long story short... Leave them as they are. Spend te money on something that improves your car... Not making it sound like a busted pelicans arse!!!!
On both man. When I put the ID's in we did one map on 98 (If i ever wanted to go back) and a map on E85. I just run a dinosaur Power FC.
No idea man. But I suppose the ID's are new(er) technology so you dont get the issues running big injectors like you would normally. Your more than welcome to come and take it for a drive if you like.
