My wife's niece had a similar situation happen to her thru stationary traffic last year and with only 3rd Party Property ins, the other driver had their car repaired by her ins and she had to foot the whole bill to get her own Ford Festiva repaired. What I reckon you're referring to is more to do with a duty of care and defensive riding/driving, not road traffic laws unfortunately. Cops will always give you that sort of a spiel by stating that you are both responsible purely from a safety aspect.

He definitely should've excercised due care but not because he has to by law but moreso for his own safety.......everyone on 2 wheels should or they shouldn't be on the road. He however, was travelling straight on a priority road and in a designated bike lane, and no doubt some insurance company may try to spin doctor their way into trying to lay 20% or so blame his way just for being there but if he stood his ground and went to court, the judge would say that by bisecting a priority road (entering or leaving), you are bound by law to excercise due care, not him. Insurance companies are into % of blame......judges aren't. Probably a good thing you didn't hit him cause it would get very messy if you both decided to stand your ground.

I'm with you there Ben and especially, as Talbo said, the 2+ abreast riders that have no concern for their own safety..........unfortunately, if you were stationary in the middle of the road, turning right into a side street, and he in fact was going straight in a designated bike lane (not splitting lanes), guess who had 100% right of way?

It has already been stated that CAMS events are high on the agenda......Damo has even asked for a motorsports events coordinator to be elected.......I suggest you go over the whole thread again rather than posting the same question over and over again. It has been said a million times already, the club is in its infancy stages and as important as events are and will be, the setting up of the club's committee is the main priority now. And Shane, don't let a few members that don't read every post to get their info upset you mate, cause I actually believe you need to be on the committee with your experience. lol Chronic, when the boss would come down and tell us that there were too many guys in here and not enough girls, we would use those excuses and many more like, "you're too ugly to go to nightclubs", etc... Don't take it personal bud, they were obviously trying to get more chics in there.

This has been going on for awhile now and I've purposely stayed out of discussion and tried very hard not to flame some of the c**kheads in here that can't help themselves. My initial thoughts of this going to completion were pretty negative and not because (unlike many of you) I thought that Roo had a personal agenda, but because of the lack of interest shown in Model #1 when poor Cubes tried very hard to get it off the ground. As soon as the 1st thread was created by Ruby for Round #2, all I saw was the knockers and wannabes coming out of the woodworks with no real interest in the club except to give their unwarranted hero opinions, regardless of whether they contained constructive substance or not! If you've ever had a successful business, you'll be one of the very few that understands how much opposition you get and how many walls you run into during establishment, but only determination & persistence eventually pays off. This club was a long time in the coming but none of the knockers would dare put their hand up and take on the challenge. The fact that Ruby has stated that he has not nominated for the committee proves to all of you that he has no personal agenda.......period! The fact that he has clearly ignored many of the ridiculous posts in here proves that he sees the bigger picture and doesn't waste all his time trying to please every clown that can't make a particular meeting.......ffs, get over yourselves, you're not that important!! There are bigger fish to fry and as everyone involved keeps repeating, it's in its infantry process and will have teething problems. And for those that think that I have a personal agenda too, Ruby had no idea that I was posting this and I have no personal involvement in the present structure of the club. This whole process has clearly grown legs and appears to be full steam ahead.......don't come across as sooky little girls by saying "I'm not gonna join" cause if and when you finally do, you'll look like dickheads.
