  2. LOL The lady in the bikini looks very fore-giving I trust you'll get the right buyer at the right time Matt!
  3. So 'in the wash' we now have... Prepsol + Clay Bar + 2000 wet 'n dry + soap + cutting compound + mineral turpentine + turtle wax tar & bug remover + wax and grease remover + methylated spirits ...and oh yes, how could I forget; followed by wax
  4. I've received your PM Nathan about this post of mine - pursuant to yours earlier. Many thanks for your constructive comments too. We shall talk further, I know. Cheers, Terry
  5. That looks good Callan.
  6. Explanation to Police goes,... "Officer, I hit an oil patch left by an Alfa Romeo in front"
  7. Hi Marko, 1) The Nismo Kill Switch Cosmetic Lighter is a display item - but genuine Nismo There's a recent WtB thread of how someone wanted one and an SAU Trader said he still had some left, even though they're discontinued. Even the "Nismo" logo is the old type. Matthew (God_speed) noticed (since his eyes are better than mine), that there's a "Nissan" stamp on the collar too supposedly to make counterfeiting more difficult. 2) Steve-0 (N1GTR) mentioned to me that the "N1" sticker existed, so I sourced high and low. It's the same font and brushed aluminium background as the "V-Spec" sticker on the rear quarter of the R34 GT-Rs. Yes, there are many other differences on the R34 GT-R N1 too. About 22x Should I list them off?
  8. Thanks for your comments blk180, Marko and Kim. Nothing more than cosmetic stuff to be done to this. My wife catches me going into the garage to take a peek at this. Pretty clean inside. ECU by Mine's needs to be switched and adapted for 98RON - I was given a PFC as a present from the former owner of Matthew's VS2 Nur And thanks to Kristian for the past two R34 GT-Rs, I'm a lucky guy.
  9. No I won't tell you how retarded you are.
  10. That's why my insurance company doesn't like anyone else to drive my GT-R - "Perceived driving skills are always better than actual"
  11. A few short years ago, the age of 25 was the threshhold for lower premiums. Then the companies moved the 'goalposts' to 30. So just through one foul stroke of an actuary's pen, you poor blighters have to pay more again. I wonder what's down the track in 30 years' time? Perhaps DNA testing for Passive-Aggresive Mood Disorder, Bipolar II and Schizophrenia, causing premiums to go north?

  13. Phenomenal collection of YUM!
  14. Driver satisfaction > get a manual Best and least depreciation > get a manual Ease of selling later on > get a manual Want to see what the car is capable of > get a manual Stuck in traffic chaos every morning > get an auto
  15. Just Car will still offer Agreed Value policies. * I suspect that they may not be so generous in covering the full value of mods * I suspect that they may not cover windscreen breakage * For theft claims, they pay up ok, so long as you've kept up your end of the bargain on the policy * Where people get screwed (sometimes) is that you need to leave your car with the cheapest repairer in a damage claim. Now here lies a 'pot luck' situation Grant as to whether the repair or paint job is up to speed or not. * The Excess you'd pay in an At Fault accident is on par with other companies. This time around, I've gone for Lumleys SV, even though I've insured GTRs with Shannon's and Just Car before, in fact my wife's Bimmer and my Foz XT are still with Shannon's. It's the GTR that is insured with Lumleys SV with a Premium saving of over $900
  16. It just becomes firm - but not rock hard like epoxy. That's why removal of a fitting, moulding or a windscreen doesn't leave marks or damaged paint
  17. The only companies Grant which offer Agreed Value and cater for modifications with increased Sum Insured that I know of are Just Car, Shannon's and Lumleys SV. And even they don't take kindly to even carport parking let alone driveway parking. Lumleys SV is part of the Wesfarmers group. They cover breakage to any window & will allow choice of repairer. Just Car, Shannon's, Aust Pensioner Insurance, AAMI, Aust Alliance are part of the Suncorp group. But whereas Shannon's allows choice of repairer, AAMI and Just Car have their own repairers + allow your own repairer to quote on damage ; but they go with the cheapest quote. They will cover front windscreen only. My approach is this: I know that an insurance company upon renewal expects that I'll remain loyal to it. But each year I shop around so that when it asks me if the quote is competitive, I can weigh up if the Sum Insured as well as the Premium is not satisfactory. In other words, that company will never be sure that I am loyal to it - because the fact is; I shouldn't be. I've noticed that any company can fluctuate from year to year as dictated by their own actuarial data. GIO, Guild Insurance and NRMA with its affiliates don't even rate well any more IMHO
  18. Never mind... This has been a great read about a tremendously resourceful person who has successfully converted 'a sow's ear into a silk purse'
  19. Talk to Peter at Bodyformaero He can get brackets made up for the rear c/f diffuser too. Price differences between genuine and aftermarket? On a former R34 GTR I bought aftermarket skirts and pods from Peter for $700 (prior to paint & fit). My current R34 GTR has genuine new Nismo skirts and pods which cost me $2100 and that was from a SAUer in the F/S section (as importing them new would have costed even more). I'd have to show you both sets side by side before you'd notice any differences.
  20. I must have stopped aging then ...if this is anything to go by... http://cars.about.com/od/nissan/fr/11_juke_preview.htm Well, it's a start!
  21. I know where this is heading. There will be a Sunday Inter-Car-Club Protest-Rally Cruise on Parliament House in each state of the Commonwealth Also present will be be CEOs of car parts shops, tuning houses, motoring workshops, exhaust establishments, tyre shops, wheel repairers, suspension shops, brake and clutch shops, truckies, Repco, Autobarn, Auto One, Supercheap & NRMA as well as the odd MP There will be speeches about how policing attention will be diverted towards... * owners of cars with bald tyres * camryesque road hogs * drivers who think that a blinker stalk is an obstruction to turning a wheel * senile old fools who park by sound rather than sight * druggies as well as drunks * maniac weavers * idiots who don't realise their lights are off at night * seat-belt-phobics * 5-toes-1-foot dangling out passenger windows * smoke screen clunkers * no more leather-leg blue 'n whites hiding in bushes Yaddayadda.... "Book 'em Danno" ...and leave the real enthusiasts, who luuuuv to patronise the above businesses alone! All those businesses above, at the cash registers say to us every day of the week! April Fools Day 2012 can be such a Sunday

  23. The sun was out on the M4 to-day! Yay! ...and up at Valley Heights too! Compliments of God_speed
  24. The leading edge of each GTR had one split about 300mm long. After mending, sanding & painting, no mark was perceptible
