  1. Thanks for getting back to me guys... The "Experiment" so to speak, is on a new thread. For those of you who do night shifts, I'd replace the word "brekky" with "1st meal of the day" + "lunch" with "2nd meal of the day" Let's see how this goes at least 3 weeks after the Vit B3/Chromium Combo? BTW Egg yolk contains much more Chromium 2+ than 300g of beef! This Chromium is essential for reducing insulin resistance and tiredness. It's not to be confused with hexavalent chromium 6+ in the Erin Brokovich film.
  2. Let's hit the Tertiary even if you're already unlucky to have it - or some close relatives also are afflicted! Experiment:- * Bioceuticals "Gluco Factors" contains Gymnema Sylvestre - yes it's a herb It helps to regenerate the Beta cells in the Islets of Langerhans as these produce your insulin. * Losing weight is essential * Following the rationale in Post #2 along with the Gymnema and losing weight might just get you back into being "Pre-diabetic" once again.
  3. Let's hit the Primary and Secondary (before they get you)! Experiment:- To Reduce That Mid-afternoon Tiredness Waking Up Flat Feeling * You don't have to be overweight to get Hypoglycemia but it pays to lose some if your core girth measurements are getting up there. * Easily digestible Chromium is in Egg Yolk > Try eating one egg at brekky and one at lunch * Have a small to medium amount of protein at every meal throughout the day as well * Vitamin B3 along with Chromium reduces 'Insulin Resistance' so take Tresos-B or Stress B Forte or Meta B Complex at 2/day after brekky/lunch * Reduce simple carbohydrates (for complex carbs with plenty of veg and fruit) * Fruit (4 pces/day) strategically taken at mid-morning, an hour after lunch, 2 hrs after lunch and before bed * Use little nut packs as snacks * Calorie (or Kj) count of brekky + lunch should exceed dinner (according to the AIS outside of protein loading times) * Taking a walk at the end of lunch and before going back into work is good sense to help that squirt of insulin to 'J-Curve' out. (Ash noticed this on the Multivitamin thread)
  4. Diabetes II onset is about age 44 (on average) and getting earlier... But are there tell-tale signs long beforehand? Consider please this model:- Primary (14 causes and going up) > Secondary (Hypoglycemia) > Tertiary (Diabetes II) > Quaternary (You wouldn't want to know) * Primary - there are about 14 causes of hypoglycemia; 7 common; 7 rare * Secondary - Hypoglycemia with tiredness not long after lunch and waking up flat each morning; it's where the pancreas is so sensitive, it produces too much insulin for extended periods * Tertiary - Hyperglycemia with Hypoglycemic swings; where the pancreas is tired and can't produce insulin like it used to; Beta cells in the Islets of Langerhans degrade * Quaternary - Offshoot of Diabetes is Blood flow in legs restricted > amputation + Blindness + Libido loss + Cardiac problems + Cancer risk + Rage
  5. Jez knows! chiksluvit knows! Additive was used as a disguise I'm afraid. Get quotes for a rebuild > budget. Every time I check over a car, I stick my finger into the oil filler hole and poke it around the top.
  6. Hi, One thing you've done so appropriately is to talk to us on a car club. We've had two sons and they both drove a manual on the purchase of their first car. If your son is trained to drive a manual, it seems a retrograde step to buy an auto. There is obviously more control with a manual (of that era). Mark had an R31 Nissan Skyline as his first and Matt had a Gen 3 Honda Prelude. Has your son got a licence based on a manual shift? If so, stick with a manual. How mature is he? This as much as anything else, determines if you feel compelled to stay up late to hear that car come home. Has he got an intention to get advanced driver's courses under his belt? I certainly hope so. The car you mentioned just needs to be checked over like any other car = thorougly. Plus the fact that since it's a grey import, one should look carefully for rust, accident damage etc by looking over the rails, wheel well, cross members and evidence of panel removal.
  7. Did she admit fault (since you were evidently on the roundabout before she entered it)? Did you lodge a report to the police > Event No.? If there's a dispute (eg she might insist that your friend was speeding), did you know that you might be best to get a traffic lawyer to procure money from her insurance company to pay for your repairs? If you're even just a member of the NRMA, did you know that you can get free legal advice? Are you about to obtain say 2x panelbeater quotes for your repairs (and then give them to your lawyer or serve them to her insurance company)? Advice by Bullet32 about taking pics is good!
  8. ^ ^ ^ some very good info there. Lots of people don't realise how important the brain-gut connection really is. When digestion is poor, one of the most common symptoms is foggy/vacant thinking. If allergic to gluten and this is common with people suffering from bipolar disorder, the sufferers can get disordered thinking to the extent that they start things and get easily distracted > ADHD
  9. That's pretty debilitating! Must affect work as well as relationships? Brain-Gut Connection? Mood shifts? Feel worse the day after drinking alcohol? Any depression? In pain? Seen a Dr/Naturopath/Acupuncturist? > Feel free to PM me with more explicit details if you wish Michael (rather than answer here).
  10. Good Ken; just waiting for a couple more takers!
  11. If you walk into RNSH bleeding they give you a free bed. Funny how Melb has one of the best Chiro Colleges and St Leonards has one of the Best Massage Courses. One of my colleagues (a naturopath) used to lecture at St Leonards; I'll ask her where she stayed whilst her home is in Blackheath.
  12. Does anyone here get... a) mid afternoon tiredness about 1-1.5hrs after lunch? b) a flat feeling upon waking in the morning c) both a & b? If so (especially a & c), I have an experiment for you if you're up to it.
  13. Is that uncle your dad's brother? If so, Serotonin deficiencies tend to follow an "agnate genetic" line ie patrinlinear through the males.
  14. Tresos-B + Selenium is bought from health food shops; made by Eagle. Stress B Forte is the same but Aussie. Stevia is from health food shops too. Splenda is a synthetic sugar called sucralose which doesn't seem to have any red flags against it so far.
  15. For guys who physically work out Ash, I'd use Tresos-B with Selenium. I used to think that raw sugar was better than white - but now with its additives, they're probably just as bad as each other; but nowhere near as bad as 951 and 950 (aspartame & acesulphame). On porridge, if not Stevia, then pure maple syrup (eg Camp) has less glucose than even honey. Honey can be healing on the gut, especially Manuka honey.
  16. You've got a nasty habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time eh?
  17. Stopping smoking reduces dopamine levels in the brain (aka physical withdrawal). Taking l-Tyrosine each morning increases dopamine. Tyrosine is also a cousin to l-Tryptophan which is taken at night to aid sleep to by producing Serotonin. 5-Hydroxytryptophan is 5x stronger than l-Tryptophan so... I'd get some 5HTP or Proxan from your local naturopath and take one either 2 hours after dinner or 40mins before dinner on empty tummy with fruit juice (so it crosses the blood-brain barrier with ease). Equivalent to 100mg of 5-Hydroxytryptophan. And take 1x 500mg Tyrosine on waking - also available from the naturopath. Get back here to relay feedback 5 days after starting. Take sugar or pot or alcohol yourself? One would also like to know what your diet's like? Parents have had sleep problems? Sleep deprivation is horrible. Plan B will be Theanine 200mg (aka Ultra Theanine) & Bupleurum (aka Stressan). From naturopath. Plan C will be Chinese Acupuncture (considering other hormones or genes). Acupuncturist will take pulse tests on wrist or ankle. Plan D will be a benzodiazepine like temazepam Temaze or Xanax Plan E will be Stilnox. Trying desperately to circumvent Plans D & E
  18. Stevia (aka Sweet Leaf of Paraguay) is the ideal alternative. Maybe one should start a plantation! Stevia:- * natural sweetener * reduces insulin resistance * acts on the satiety centre of the brain to induce the feeling of fullness Con = slight aftertaste - but not unpleasant to me personally
  19. Suggestion #1:- Pull out ear plugs and run down the stairs. Suggestion #2:- Get your head out of the VIC thread - lol
  20. My concern about taking sugar (= simple carbo) is purely based on the premise that glucose/sucrose, alcohol, recreational drugs, anaesthetics and paints work against the liver's capacity to manufacture precursor vitamins and amino acids. Berocca used to contain heaps of sugar > shifted to 951 & 950 as many manufacturers of confectionery have > risky (health) business in the long term.
  21. ^ ^ ^ Aaaah, so now the farkers are using 950 & 951 carcinogens. Report last year indicated that breast cancer is most rife on the north shore and northern beaches of Sydney. Just thinking that the coffee set up there had more weight conscious ladies that'd use Acesulphame and Aspartame too. Other common cancers are more prevalent in western subs. of Sydney as one might expect.
  22. I don't disagree with anyone above. Just a different slant... If you keep the bronze OEM rear wing blade, I'd also lean towards bronze wheels. If you decide to replace the rear blade with a C/F one, I'd consider a black 'n white look all over with a C/F front lip to match the C/F rear diffuser and C/F NACA Duct And if you don't have a NACA Duct, you can buy a 3" one from Ken Lowe Racing in Qld.
  23. Sounds like Dr boiracer has saved a precious soul from a terminal asthma attack I do think about checking my air filter whenever the evening's TV Program is filled with sh!t
  24. I've known St*** there for years and I've never been able to establish good rapport with him. Once bought a front lip/diffuser from there and it fitted perfectly. I also once sized up sideskirts and they were horrible. Moral:- Insist on sizing up the panel-fit and absence of ripples in the F/G
  25. ^ ^ ^ Thanks for updating for me. What sweeteners do they use if there are no sugars now pls?
