  1. Way back when I bought PS4 (Brand New) I had a starlet so naturally I wanted to trick it up a bit and found using the computer a bit cheaper than doing it for real. Not too bad for a first go:D
  2. Dam I may have to put the TEIN's back in incase I need to turn hard at high speed.....OH crap  I sould them, what am I going to do????? Does sound interesting though......bit like one of those witches-hat slaylem style of events I spose
  3. Cool mate, I have a little GIF. program that I use as well, I actually made a short movie a while back all from gifs, it looked cool but took ages, now I can't find it (saved to disk and lost it)
  4. 217KW SPECS FMIC 3.5" EXHAUST FROM TURBO VG30 TURBO 1 BAR BOOST S-AFC BOSCH 910 FUEL PUMP HKS CAM GEARS ADVANCED IGN TIMING HIGH OCTANE FUEL (70% ULTIMATE + 30% TOLUENE) DCS HEAVY DUTY SINGLE PLATE 206KW SPECS FMIC 3.5" EXHAUST FROM TURBO VG30 TURBO 1 BAR BOOST S-AFC BOSCH 910 FUEL PUMP Don't forget that the clutch makes a big difference as you have to be able to transfer the power to the wheels. We drove my mates car on the road and the clutch seemed OK but when we dynoed it it only made 213rwkw then we replaced the clutch and now it makes 231rwkw, a similar thing happened to me now my car feels a lot quicker as all my power is getting to the wheels. I will post the power figure with the cam gears and normal Ultimate fuel once I have it de-tuned for daily use....still have a bit of the good fuel in the tank so I want to use it up

  6. TTZ sorry haven't got my time slip (as mentioned it was stolen with some of my other gear only have the ones from earlier in the day but my friend has his and I ran against him will see if he still has it....we weren't too impressed with the times so he probably disposed of it . I was running street tyres but got a awesome launch sorted.
  7. Please keep to the topic for those who are familiar with the thread yuo know what has been deleted and for a good reason thanks.
  8. Thats the spirit, I prefer to do my own stuff as well.
  9. I can now comment on this after dropping around half a second off my 60 ft times. First Example 2.4 60ft HARD suspension Worn clutch Worn tyres 3000rpm Second example 1.9 (1.994 but still under 2sec ) Soft suspension New heavy duty clutch New soft compound tyres 5500 rpm My theory: This is what I believe is the requirement for a good launch. First you need tyres that will grip, my 40 series 18" grip really well after a burnout so I am happy to use them if you are running higher profile then deflating them to around 15psi is the way to go, at the end of the day go for the widest tyres you can use just make sure they are grippy. Second, you need the suspension to be setup right. No rear negative camber and soft front and rear springs/shocks the reason you need soft in the rear AND front is that for the rear to drop and transfer weight to the drive wheels the front must be able to lift. most hard suspension has the wrong bound/rebound for drags. The ideal setup would be front shock/setup with high rebound and no/low bound so that it lifts but doesn't drop to easilly and rear shocks/springs with the opposite to allow it to drop but not raise easilly. Thirdly your clutch needs to be able to handle a good riding from high RPM if it can't you will loose out when you hit second, you have to ride the clutch a bit on the launch or you will just wheel spin. Unless you have heaps of power don't touch a twin plate, we have found it hard to launch without spin with decent rpm.
  10. Sorry Jay....I thought it was....yeh launching in second may be an idea, will give it a go next time I am at the drags
  11. The R13 looked good....very tidy and nice rims. My only concern is the lack of cooling for your radiator...The main problem with all these conversions is the water temp. we have to big davies craig fans on the back of the silvia's radiator plus we don't have the a/c radiator tingy the water temp got upto 91 degrees the other day in traffic so be carefull about this.
  12. Best Speed was 182.4km/h up from 170ish 60ft was 1.9 down from 2.4ish I only found these times on my mates slip that I ran against as all my slips along with some other personal items were removed by some nice person right from my bag right next to my car while I was there......Hey Nismo boy did you see anyone lurking about near our cars? The main problem on the second run was the amount of traction I had in 1st....it caught me by supprise, normally I launch and then have to drive out 1st a bit before hitting 2nd but this time I launched and then had to hit 2nd straight away because I was launching from a much higher RPM in any video of my second run you will see the front of the car drop while I go "Oooops 2nd already dam now where is that gear stick:) " Then I fed it a bit too much power and the rears tramped for 30m Jay, my prob with the dial in is that I want to win the comp so I have to ensure I am first to the line AND don't run too fast, also I (as everyone else) didn't know how the night was going to be, as it turned out the humidity was up but the air temp was better and generally cooler, also my car hadn't just driven from Toowoomba. Thats why I found it hard to nominate a dial in with my cars new specs, don't mean to be harsh but being an auto it is a little different to drive to my car and your times are more consistant there for it is easier to work out a dial in. Next time I will get to a test and tune the wekk prior and work out my dial in then turn up at Jambo after lunch rather than getting up at 4:30:) Squizz when in October? I am going to Airlie Beach on the 18th for a holiday so I may be available Where is Benaraby?
  13. Zer0 Sorry I haven't made any for the S13 (I have but for a rb20) try driftking's in Brisbane they do the piping for ARE and it is very good infact you can buy a kit for your car from ARE with piping and clamps etc.
  14. Thats the key, its bad enough not to run what you should have but its worse when you are left wondering why
  15. ZerO you should bring your car to Toowoomba for the tuning to CramerDP (Very good) On the cam gears, we did mine and my friends the other day and got some good gains but it takes a lot of dyno hours to do them, the biggest prob with your car is the fact that you will have to remove the cam cover every time you make an adjustment and this will add hugely to the labour not to mention how difficult they would be to install with a chain drive timing belt:(. Yes you can buy a pair of HKS gears for around $350 but the time it takes to tune them makes them an expensive mod. Tim at CramerDP actuall ran my car at ever setting (Retard/Advance) on both the cams and mapped it all on the dyno then overlaid them to see where the best gains were then combined the two best results to achieve a good increase. My mates red top SR is making around 180rwhp with: ARE Front mount 3" turbo back system Big fuel pump 13-14psi Stock air box and filter and has run a 13.2sec 1/4 (I hate SR's;) ) add tho this a s-afc and you could nearly crack 210rwhp.
  16. Very tasteful, looks great, I love your wheels they have always been one of my fav's:D
  17. Like all the big guys, I too was still working on my car till all hours of Friday night. As mentioned in another thread I ended the week with 217rwkw and this helped greatly with the top end speed. Straight up my overall best time was 13.7, the same as my previous best time 6 weeks earlier. This was of course dissapointing as I had hoped for a 12sec pass and I still believe that the car is capable but for some "Out of my control" problems and rules. I am not making excuses, I am just telling your guys exactly why a 12 didn't happen. The main reason was the fact that it was a dial in race and as such doesn't allow you to race as hard as possible because if you better your dial in you are out. I dialed in a 13.0 and on my first pass of the night I ran the 13.7 BUT backed off well before the line to ensure I didn't run too fast, not sure if I would have gone into the 12's but it would have been close, This win was a bit of a shame as it was against my friends RBS13 so one of us was going to loose. The reason I had to dial in at 13 rather than say 12.7 was the fact that it was so hot in the morning qualifying that I was unable to run any faster than a mid 14 (Track temp 34 Humidity 90%) My first 3 runs I used to sort out the launching, and let me tell you the suspenion made a huge difference. Qualifying Run 1. Hard launch at 4000rpm no burnout = mass wheel spin in first and second. Run 2. Hard launch at 4000rpm small burnout = bog down. Run 3. Hard launch at 4500rpm small burnout = good grip Racing Run 1. Hard launch at 5000rpm small burnout = no spin + better 60ft time. Run 2. Hard launch at 6000rpm medium burnout = no spin + good 60ft time. When I next attend a test and tune I will be launching at 6500rpm this should be spot on, I just need to remember to change into second. Conclusion Last time: Track Temp 22 degrees Humidity 43% 13.7 Full trim incl sterio etc Slipping clutch Bald tyres Hard suspension 206rwkw This time: Track Temp 34 degrees Humidity 90% 13.7 Stripped interior New clutch New tyres New suspenwion 217rwkw
  18. I am using a VG30 non ball bearing ceramic ex wheel turbo. I will be using 550cc injectors as you mentioned. Prank....I am quite scared of the mighty SR....I know first hand how good they are and how fast they can be made with minimal mods. Yeh HP isn't everything as you say steve, traction is a big issue but I think I have it as sorted as possible with 40 series tyres. On the street I have managed some good launches at 1000rpm higher than I managed on the sticky strip so tomorrow I will try for a further 1000 rpm on the launch (5500prm) If I can nail it at 12 should follow as my new clutch is awesome. But then again I will probably end up running slower than previous.....drag racing is a fickle business.
  19. Thanks guys....hope for a high 12 or low 9:D Tomorrow sometime....probably at night. Just hope I don't have to race the RB20s13 of Lukes....20rwkw more
  20. Excellant work mate, keep it up, have you run it on the 1/4 with that power?
  21. Yep, finally achieved my goal by taking the car from 206rwkw to 217rwkw at an average of 13psi (peaks to 15 then drops off). This was achieved with cam gear adjustment, ignition timing and fuel (fuel only offered 2kwkw) The car now runs very smooth and feels quick. From most accounts 220rwkw is the absolute max possible from the stock injectors in perfect condition so I am hapy with the 217 that I have....next mods include the new injectors I just bought and a tasty new turbo:D
  22. Sorry that $1100 was cooler only, I made the piping myself and did all the fitting to save money.
  23. Yeh I think places like DickSmith sell kits to change the resistance or perhaps speak to a injector service business.
  24. What can I say....it inspired me:D I actually had the last section done but needed more to fill in for the song....thanks to you I have it now;)
