  1. Official top speed is 260km/h the needle just touched the pin at 0 and I worked out that this is about 260km/h. Fastest 1/4 13.7 Closest miss....Slowing from 220km/h on a "Private" Country road and my rear tyre blew at 180km/h. Didn't notice till much slower and I tried to take a medium corner and the back end felt like jelly. It was at this point that I found that I could get a jack under my car cause it was too low. Later at the tyre shop the guy looked at it and asked how fast I was going....I just smiled and he informed me that the crap tyres (his words) were only rated to 160km/h. I nearly died.
  2. The last lot of piping I made was for a friends gtst. I used mild steel and as mentioned above cut it myself and marked the joins then taped the pipes together. Then took it to the local exhaust shop who actually oxy welded it (looks awesome) total cost for 8 welds + 6 welds around the ends to stop the pipes blowign apart was $35 (theye just charge by the hour @ $35/hour) Not bad I thought and it looked good. Then we had the inside cleaned and the outside powder coated in metalic silver.
  3. Yeh Luke (Reveddie) had his done....I didn't think when I told you the price, it may have been discounted due to the fact that we have bought about 6 clutches from them. We had a bit of drama with the new one but DCS finally sorted it out no you can easilly chirp 3rd and sometimes 4th. There are pics on my site
  4. Direct Clutch Service (Brisbane) did a rebuild on a friends OS twin plate with twin brass button 5 puck plates. It is an awesome clutch and cost about $700-$800 for the rebuild. Buying actuall OS parts is very expensive so if you can find someone local like DCS thats the go.
  5. Thanks but silvia stuff uses 2 bolts on top and mine has 3 Thanks anyway
  6. I am after some stock suspension for a R32 gtst I really only need the rear stuff. This is urgent so if you have some lying around (shock and spring) then let me know. Thanks 0418 719 205 [email protected]
  7. Yep alloy = aluminium. Quite often alloy works out the same as mild steel with HPC coating. If someone suggests alloy WITH HPC coat don't do it as you are spending money on material that is pointless, just use mild steel and get it coated.
  8. Mild steel: Cheap Easy to use Rusts on the inside and outside if no coated Mid weight Mild heat soak ________________________________________________ Stainless Steel: Expensive Harder to use and cut Will not rust and can be polished to mirror HeavyHigh heat soak ________________________________________________ Aluminium: Mid / high price Easy and hard to use, joins must be spot on for welding Willnot rust and can be polished to mirror Light Low heat soak ________________________________________________ Personally go for alloy if you can and have someone to weld it for you. If not use mild steel and have it powder coated or HPC coated for heat treatment. DriftKing Performance in Bris can do nice piping I believe.
  9. The plan: Meet at Willowbank around 6pm on the right hand side of the staging lanes a fair way back from the front....this seems to be OK, have a chat or have a run then stop for more chat if you want or keep running. After Jamboree in September I think I will organise these meets better and have an actuall competition with trophies etc.
  10. Next SAU race meet 21 August Yes its on again in August. The SAU Drag race meet at Willowbank on the 21st of August see here for the details
  11. Yes you did....So I assume you will be at this months meet at Willowbank on the 21st to ensure you supremicy.
  12. I second that....Slip's car is dodgy:lol:   Just joking, its a lean mean drifting machine:uh-huh:
  13. Brisbane Auto Salon....
  14. EVL R33 Unfortunately the TEIN NR shocks are not adjustable...here is some info for you Tein NR shocks
  15. OK sounds like this Saturday is probably not a go-a. I have a birthday the next week end which sucks because I was going to come down to KP for a climb and have a BBQ then go for a cruise. OH well......may catch up with some of you on the 21st at the drags.
  16. OK guys at this stage the date is the 13th October. Basically there is too much else on during September with BAS and Jamboree. This should give you all the time to save the $50 to have a run. More details soon

    SAU Qld

OK guys, I'm in but only as a member. From past experience the Pres. Tres and Sec need to be close to each other geographically. This allows them to get together often to discuss stuff. Basically I can't afford to be driving to Bris/coast every month for meetings that will most likely turn into a general discussion instead of getting to the point and there for another meeting will have to be held. Trust me, I know how this club thing goes. I have been part of 2 groups and Sec. for one and unless the head guys can get together easilly then it WILL NOT work. Anyway, I am happy to help with whatever I can but can't gaurantee being at all meetings/events/bbq's etc. I have a copy of the details about starting a club up here from the guys in Syd. Once we decided on who is doing what I can give this to you. i think a couple of others have this as well. Are we meeting at Roma Street on the 3rd?
  18. OK guys so what is the plan? Are we deffinately meeting this Saturday night at 8pm at Parklands? If so I will come and bring the digi camera and take some photo's of everyones cars.
  19. Hey Squizz, did you fix that vac line? Did it cause you any probs?
  20. I have found some sweet pads that I am using and after using many different pads on all my previous cars I can easilly say that these are the best pads ever. I have a full set of WedSport brake pads, these are awesome and I believe that Nengun sell them. I got mine from Japan and can't remember how much they cost but they aren't cheap. Even from cold they are awesome and can easilly pull the car up from 200+ km/h.Must admit tho that they are very aggresive and I need to have the disks machined once a year.
  21. Where was that photo taken? If it is on an air strip then perhaps I could come out for a speed run with the DUEL guys sometime?
  22. Nismogirl got it in one. I invited SubZero to my last dyno day and they told me they would bring 6 cars and even told me which ones then they didn't turn up???? Sorry for the confusion. Anyway Toowoomba is 1hr 30min west of Brisbane and is a good drive so come along if you want. Boxcar racer, I admit defeat, but only just. Must admit tho that the night I took my car for a strap with only the dump pipe and front pipe on it was hugely loud.....then again it was 10pm and I had big flames coming out from under my car:lol:
  23. PeteSmith No probs mate they don't mind, in fact they do a lot of 4wd's when they fit UNICHIP etc. It will be at Cramer Dyno & Performance in Toowoomba. There are pics on my site in the Diary section. I wouldn't count on Sub Zero turning up, they said last time they were bringing 6 cars and they didn't even turn up at all???? Boxcar Racer....Dream on matey, I am the king of exhaust noise:lol:
  24. Well that's a different story I haven't got a clue:(
  25. We will be having a sound off as well for all you audio buffs. Shame you couldn't come on sunday mate.
