  1. COME ON KIMI!!!!!!! I do feel a little sorry for Lewis. What the hell are McLaren doing?
  2. Vettel is a TOOL. Almost running into Dan
  3. So they mess up and now they get to pull the car out of parc ferme and grt to change gearing etc. I wonder if he still has to start on the same set of tyres he qualified in Q3 on? Either way it will at least make for interesting viewing to see how he moves through the field. I am betting Helmut has spoken to Vergne and Dan already!
  4. I think the rule makes sense. It does seem harsh but how dangerous is it for cars to be on their mega hot lap and those that ran before with 30seconds to go on the clock are stopping by the side of the track as they didnt want to carry the fuel around with them. Considering the top 10 are covered by 1.1 seconds with 2nd to 6th less then 0.3 seconds apart there is a spot of two to be gained from being a few kgs lighter on fuel. The other thing is that the cars weight is inc fuel, so they need enough for a sample and also enough that they are not underweight
  5. Out of interest I was told by a turbo whore friend who used to have a bedroom full of car parts that the HKS turbo use a steel ball bearing cage where as the Garret are plastic. Any truth to it or maybe that was one of the things that differentiated the 2530 and -5s
  6. Well it has now been confitrmed that hr did not have enough fuel and is starting from last YAY! Webber might get the win but Lewis is looking mega quick. I am also betting he has not got very good 7th gear for overtaking on the straight so will be interesting to see if he can get a point as it looks pretty close up front with STR and the 3 new teams being off the top ten pace.
  7. Knowing how McLaren have been kicking home goals like in Singapore I am betting his car breaks and Webber takes a won Have to say though, Whitmarsh must be looking at where Button is and then Homo and really be scratching his head. They are losing the freaskishly quick guy but keeping their consistant racer who rarely uses a cars pace in quali. And then Homo must be looking at the car he is getting at the moment and look at Mercedes and be worrying....seems McLaren and Lewis are the losers from the decision to move on. A point was raised tonight that I had not considered. Part of the reason why Vergne flatters in the races compared to Disco Dan as he is always getting booted in Q1 so has loads of fresh tyres vs Dan that uses all his tyres up in Q1 and Q2 so ultimately loses some race pace for not having fresh tyres
  8. Was watching a doco on fighter planes today and I started dreaming how good would it be to see the US GP increase interest in corporate USA and someone like Lockheed Martin/BAE etc get behind an F1 team with tech/engineering effort. Would be interesting to see how the Yanks go as it has been over 20 years since they have had a team in F1.
  9. I would rather smash Pinkham's back door in
  10. Webber with more KERS problems. I wonder if its to do with his size meaning the KERS installation is a little more compromised in his car. He seems to have all the KERS failures!
  11. I would be there in a heartbeat. I watched a Superstars round there and the place is great for tin top racing. So much overtaking opps
  12. The crowd at Abu Dhabi is a joke. I think I see 4 people in the stands!
  13. Keep the T88, go E85 and give it 1/6bar. You cant beat Trust goodness!
  14. Shits me about Webber, it was a similar situation to what we have here back in 2010 and you read "Mark is an intelligent team player" when back in 2010 we dont believe in team orders and no talk of Zetool doing what is right for the team. Again Mark has thrown away a strong championship challenge with some strange no shows. He comes good when we go to Europe at the start of the year and he comes good for the final few GPs of the year. Where the hell is he at the start of the season and the 3rd quarter . I am tempted not to even bother to tune in after lap 2 this weekend. Watching Vettel steam role makes me want to cry. I want to see his Kers f**k up every 3rd race
  15. Williams will be interesting. Who they put in that seat will speak volumes about how serious they are and whether they are ready to man up and put a good pilot in the car at the cost of funding. FI have already lost a few people which makes me think that next year they will not be as competitive and would bet serious money that STR will jump them next year. I dare say Caterham may even step up with some of the technical people they have on board.
  16. Post this weekend will be putting a lot of this stuff under lock and key so wont really be able to readily post stuff so open to accepting some of those previous offers I have declined
  17. West drops the ball again. Pretty damn stupid. I have read in the past he has a lot of ability but a pretty wayward head and heart not really suited to top level racing
  18. Stil, it sometimes feels good to have a gripe.
  19. So where to for Jaime. He has hung around the BBC team , Pirelli test driver and stated that he is confident of a good seat for 2013. Looks like Force India, but if he can bring a few dollars of personal sponsorship I would love to see him at Caterham....though he did say the 2013 drive was a step up from his 2011 seat
  20. Well this is my letter. I want a job on the CH 10 Motorsport team As an avid motorsport fan and an Australian that is proud of Australia's and New Zealand's impact on the international motorsport stage; I was disappointed with the coverage provided by Channel 10 during last years Australian Formula 1 race. With Australia's 2013 Grand Prix now only 5 months away I thought I would pass on some concerns over your 2012 coverage. I feel your 2012 coverage was less about Formula 1 and more about trying to cross promote other Channel 10 TV programs. A number of interviews with Ch 10 affiliated actors and personalities who have never experienced F1 could be great way to demonstrate to newcomers the excitement and fun surrounding the Australian GP. However this seemed to be the basis of the coverage and was weaker for it. The coverage failed to give viewers an insight into the Australian GP, Formula 1, it's sportmen/women and the history of our involvement in the sport. Ultimately some of these shortcomings could be forgiven if the non-F1 related content and those that appeared on your coverage were entertaining. Unfortunately I don't think they were successful on this front either, and in doing so the broadcast simply alienated F1 fans whilst unlikely attracting new fans. Watching the recent Phillip Island Round of the Moto GP there was a great divide between the format of the broadcast when compared to the Australian GP. I question why you think the format adopted for the Australian GP would resonate with F1 fans but not MotoGP fans. Formula 1 is a sport, which like other sports has a rich history with amazing personal stories. None better than Sir Jack Brabham with the likes of Speed and SkySports showing it's viewers the amazing feats of the man. Many Australians know the name, but few understand exactly what the man achieved. Likewise Danny Hulme, a NZ driver who was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. The son of Sir Jack, David who raced in Formula 1 and lost a Simtek teammate on that fateful race weekend at San Marino in 1994, but raced on.. Or Tim Schenken who raced for Frank Williams and Ron Dennis and alongside the likes of Graham Hill when at Brabham. His contribution to motorsport in Australia in various roles goes unnoticed with many not appreciating what the man accomplished as a driver. Likewise Larry Perkins, who locally is generally recognised for his Bathurst success more than his feats in Europe and F1. Such stories are sadly lacking from your Australian GP broadcast But it is not simply our drivers, many do not understand the connection between New Zealand's Bruce McLaren, and his feats as a driver, engineer and his legacy that is today's McLaren F1 team. Today there are young Australian engineers who have sacrificed a lot to risk careers in F1 and the pits today are full of Australian engineers working for F1 teams. Most notable is Sam Williams the Sorting Director at McLaren. F1 is such an amazing sport with so many stories. However for others to embrace the sport they need to hear these stories and Channel 10s broadcast of the first Grand Prix of 2013 is the perfect platform for these stories to be told. I feel that as the licenced broadcaster Channel 10 can be doing so much more to bolster not only their own ratings, but widen the sports audience and strengthen the support for keeping a Grand Prix in Australia. Some will marvel at the science and technical aspects. Some the not readily identifiable teamwork of the sport. Some the pure skill shown in driving or the pure sporting aspects. Some the circus of glamour that surrounds the sport. The sport offers a lot of opportunities to appeal to a wide audience. I have thought about writing this letter for months and spent hours drafting it and hope it finds an attentive audience who does not dismiss the above comments as baseless complaint but rather constructive criticism.
  21. I just typed something scathign up to send. The question is, who do you send it to? Beattie or Baird would be the obvious people, to a lesser extent Rust. Searched channel 10, ONE websites and no fan mail contact details
  22. mattie4270...what exhaust do you run on your R32?
  23. How long did you have to look for an R32 in good nic with fruit?
  24. I have one. Its currently on my car and working fine. Will be taking it off in the next 2 weeks
  25. From what I am told by a friend that is there, not many on track stuff happening either. And big difference between track time for V8s and F1s due to their being shown in different markets in different time zones.
