  1. Hey guys, in need of daily. Looking at spending up to $10k, but would rather spend less. Needs to be: - Decent on fuel - Reliable - Not girly - 4 door I don't want something too old, or with too many k's. Whilst looks aren't important, I'd like to have something that wasn't hideous or too girly. I'm really quite stumped, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
  2. I would, but I honestly can't afford it. Unless someone wants to give me a lift up and back on the day. Supra is my daily and I can't afford to have it off the road. Who knew gearboxes were so damned expensive.
  3. I'm out. Gearbox is blown. This sucks.
  4. Ha! Forcast in Shepparton for the 7th of November is 33C and sunny.
  5. When is the latest you can pull out and still get a refund? Chris McColgan is have medical issues which he may not have recovered from in time.
  6. What? You leave me to uphold the Supra name again? Do you realise how poor a driver I am? Probably not the thread to be discussing it, but does Fun day every get messy? A mass of drivers (many of which are amataur drivers) all on the same race track I'm sure hits happen.
  7. Once again you disappoint me Dan. Will we always be this way? What's the Winton Fun Day? Sounds... fun?
  8. Or get a passenger. A passenger on the long/short wang is silly cause they're just added weight, but on the skidpan they're really helpful to work out where the hell you go next!
  9. Fark, those skidpans look like fun! What are the big rectangular shapes around the first corner on the first skidpan layout?
  10. I predict smoke.
  11. Yeah looks like it. Was actually hoping you'd get in, the ol' NA Supra needs a challenge
  12. Just get a heat proof coating and wrap them if you must.
  13. Hey guys, I was recommended two different sizes for my wheel. I have 9.5x18 Advan TCIIs on the front of my car and I was recommended both 225/40 AND 275/35 for the Kumho KU36. Normally it wouldn't phase me and I'd trust either of their opinions, but 225 to 275 is quite extreme. How exactly do you work out what is best? Cheers, Kieran.
  14. Hey Bec, Gary has pulled out of DECA and has offered to volunteer in the morning instead. Could you put him down with Colin on the skidpan as the timer/recorder? Cheers.
  15. Bad news guys, kinda. Depends on your perspective. Gary Swift has pulled out due to financial reasons. His car has been playing up lately and he really cannot afford another problem. Good news is he's decided to volunteer instead!
  16. Hah, you should see Gary Swift's Soarer. Got enough subs, amps, party speakers and lights in the boot to out weigh the engine.
  17. Yeah, but if he's trying to scare you can try and scare him back. Don't have to actually complain, but you can still ask for name, number and station.
  18. I'll do this for sure. Dad already said he'd pay for one
  19. Cheers mate, might actually combat the understeer I suffer from already!
  20. I'm considering just putting KU36's on the front of my car for the time being, is this a bad idea? Main reason is the front right tyre is pretty much unroadworthy, I'm low on funds and I'm headed to Deca soon. I figure I may as well shred the old tyres up at DECA and replace them shortly after. Is there any complications I might encounter having high performance road tyres on the front and average tyres on the rear? Thanks.
  21. Getting excited for this DECA. I think I'm gonna post the skidpan layouts on the back of my toilet door for some serious study.
  22. Volunteer! Then stay Saturday night. Seriously. Volunteering gets you the best seats to watch, plus you can get free spins in peoples cars after the battles are over (bring a helmet, or borrow on the day). Going out after is great too cause you meet a lot of cool people, make some friends and then forget almost all of them as the fishbowls kick in.
  23. I asked the exact same thing. The girl I was speaking to straight out admitted they will NOT pay out P platers who have an accident in a car they're not legally allowed to drive. You can still get away with it, I know one guy who did so recently. I think it comes down to the value of the car and the seriousness of the accident. The bigger the bill the more likely they're going to look into it.
  24. Hey guys, A mate and I are considering investing in a cheap, unregistered, dedicated track car, but can't seem to find them anywhere. Is there a carsales for track cars or something, or are they just that rare? Cheers.
  25. That's great and all until your insurance company flat out denies paying you for crashing a car you were not legally allowed to drive.
