That's the one. Saw the back end of too many cars on Saturday, they all start looking the same. You're also running N1s so you'd expect to have less top end. I'd imagine your's would come in a lot sooner though. The problem a dyno day is you always come away wanting more. While I'm more than impressed with the 2530s so far some more aggressive cams and another 500-600 rpm to play with would be nice.

Yeah, I know, I meant you, me and MII32 but I didn't catch his name. When Mark put his graph over mine the curves were very similar except mine came on earlier. Would be interesting to see all three.

That's what I built the site in my signature for. It's not 100% accurate but it gives an indication of the differences in response and top end. I already uploaded my tuning graph from a few weeks ago so it would be good to see yours, MII32 (I think? sorry I didn't catch your name) and mine.

Having never drifted but having attended a number of drift events in support of a friend who does, I probaby can't comment too much on the state of play in drift in Australia at present. However there are a few comments I'd like to throw into the ring. It has been mentioned how different the attitude of Japanese drifters is compared to Australians. Besides the obvious cultural differences it is probably worth noting that most D1 drivers are not only competing, but also representing a workshop of some description. Workshops rely on the popularity of the driver as much as their on track performance to generate business. As such, drivers behave in a way that best represents their sponsors. With the lack of sponsorship dollars in Australian drift, it is somewhat understandable why Australian drivers wouldn't value what little money they do receive, and wouldn't be in fear of losing a sponsor over off track behaviour. Drifting used to be an affordable motorsport. Anyone with a S13, a diff and coilovers could compete and if their skills were up to it, perform pretty well. As such the sport was dominated by 17-20 year olds and the maturity of this age group was displayed both on and off the track (geez I sound like an old bastard). While the age and maturity of the drivers has increased in the last few years the age and maturity of the spectators hasn't. It will never be a "family" event when there are ppl getting drunk, starting fights and "chucking fulli sik skids" in the car park. Similar to what Noel was saying, what kind of company would want to throw dollars at an event that attracts that kind of crowd? As stated a lot of the problem is public perception. The points I've made only apply to the ppl already heading through the gates. Running hoon stories on Today Tonight/ACA is an easy ratings grab and will continue as long as the ratings are there. The government targetting young motorists in imports is an easy vote winner and will continue as long as the votes are there. Unfortunately both have a large influence over public perception and while this perception remains, the sport of drifting will continue to be seen as a bunch of social misfits terrorising honest hard working Australians, even from within the confines of a sanctioned track in organised competitions. Rather than continue bitching about "what is", how do we change "what is" to "what could be"? Change the attitude of the drivers? Not going to happen, they don't need to change as they have someone giving them dollars to drive and that isn't going to change. Having said that, I'm sure the guy driving the Autosalon S15 (can't remember his name off the top of my head) wouldn't last long acting like some of the drivers I've seen and I'm sure he knows it and behaves accordingly. So maybe that's a possible answer, more workshop sponsored big dollar cars with "hired" drivers rather than workshops driving their own tax deductions. Change the attitude of the spectators? Not going to happen as they are the type of ppl drifting is currently targetted at, more out of necessity due to the public perception mentioned above. Change public perception? Not going to happen while there are easy ratings and votes to be gained. How do you stop the ratings grabs? Vote with your feet, don't watch these shows. Unfortunately being an aging society a few enthusiasts boycotting current affairs shows will have little to no effect. How do you stop the vote grabs? Vote at the ballot boxes? Who do you vote for when both sides are targetting the same ppl? There has to be a solution but who has the time, effort, dollars and influence to make it happen? My 2c+ GST.

Sorry, already found some. Thanks anyway.

Vented bonnet, preferrably Nismo style, either carbon or FRP to suit R34 GT-R. Other styles considered. Willo.

My S13 had the same problem with stalling at lights. I cleaned up the plugs on the idle controller, problem solved. Not saying this is your problem but it might be worth a try as it won't take a lot of time or money to check. I've also heard damaged AFMs can do the same kind of thing. Try pulling one off a friend's car and see if yours still does the same thing. Again, probably not the cause but another easy/cheap test.

Hornibrook Motorsport, ask for Craig. They are a Kumho distributor so they may be able to do better prices. Keep in mind mine are 265/35/18 so the price difference might be smaller for a smaller tyre.

I second the comment about pressures. The first set of laps I did last time out it seemed to struggle quite a bit with traction. I actually upped the pressure for the second set of laps as they were a little low and it was way better. I'm guessing there was more heat in the tyres as well which would have helped. Mine are medium compound (or possibly hard, I'll have to check) from memory which was recommended to me because it is a heavy car and the left side cops a hammering at QR. I think I've done 3 track days on these tyres and I'm not seeing any noticeable wear. I have run D01Js but they were second hand so probably not a fair comparison. I find the V70As better in terms of traction particularly through turns 1 and 2. The price difference certainly makes the V70As a much more attractive proposition.

I'm running V70As. Come and have a chat on Thursday if you're coming to Paul's track day.

In obviously.

White R32 489IJA on Coronation Drive about 20 mins ago. You should learn to follow arrows moron. They teach kids about following arrows on Sesame St, maybe you should give up your licence and go watch that for a while. If you are in the right lane, keep your dumb ass in the right lane. See attached image. It's not that hard to work out. So next time you give someone the finger, maybe you should take a look at yourself and learn to drive.

At the end of the day you can think what you like. You are full of sh!t and I'm done debating it. If you want to have a cry every time something doesn't go your way don't bother coming to future track days. No one here or on the Evo forums is buying your bullsh!t so you'll have to find somewhere else to have a whinge. Mods might as well lock this thread as well.

Do you want the prize? Is that what this is all about? Someone in group 3 had to get numbers 32 and 34. Do you want to be number 32 next time? I have stated my thoughts on this 32. This is also the same guy who passed two cars up the inside of turn 6 and nearly wore my front bar into his passenger side door in the process, even though it is clearly stated in driver briefing there are two places and two places only to pass cars. He also ran an extra lap nearly every set of laps (and ran his quickest lap on the national circuit on his extra lap). He was also passing cars and drifting on the cool down laps. So I would suggest "rules" aren't a priority for this driver.

I was running V70As. I didn't buy them to be in street class, I didn't ask to be in street class. That is just where I was put I assumed to even out the numbers. Either way I don't really care what class I was in or who thinks what about the classes. I ran a PB and that's all that matters to me. And there were 3 cars running semis in the street class. The WRX next to me bought Dunlop semis for the front of his car when his street tyres died on the first set of laps. So if you run two different types of tyres do you qualify for both classes? Having said that, a car with no muffler, running semis, and turning up on the back of a trailer in my opinion is a different matter, but as stated above I don't really care. I'm really not sure what the big deal is. We aren't racing for sheep stations. At the end of the day Paul organised and ran another great event.
