  2. Before they had little to no wear. I haven't measured after but obviously they are down the depth of the slots.
  3. Brake lines are braided and have AP Racing fluid. When I searched for the brake pad model number before putting them on the closest I came up with was the Grex street/circuit compound but this doesn't list any further details about temperature range, friction or hardness. So it is possible to have a soft rotor? Either way, I wouldn't think a pad could chew through a rotor in 5 laps? Is there anything that can cause a rotor to go "off" (heat cycles, insufficient warm up, bedding etc.)?
  4. Yeah, details might help. Not new but near new. Grex rotors (which means probably Alcon) Grex pads, not exactly sure of the compound but they make a lot of dust. Can't tell you temps. I do know a few other people (mainly Evos) use Alcon brakes as well and don't have these issues.
  5. What sort of life are people seeing out of their slotted brake rotors? In particular I'm interested in hearing from people with aftermarket 6 pots. My rotors went from being slotted to flat in 5 laps of the National circuit at Queensland Raceway.
  6. Speed doesn't cause accidents, failing to give way causes accidents. You can't run into other cars/pedestrians if you follow the road rules and give way where required. Speed can contribute to an accident (there is a big difference between causing and contributing) which is what the media will always focus on. Three pretty simple reasons for speed cameras: 1. Speed cameras are cheap, people are not. How many cameras can you buy for $50k? And that's a once off payment. 2. Speed cameras can fine multiple people per second in the right location. You can't raise those kinds of dollars with real police doing real police work. 3. People are so used to being bent over now we have grown to just accept it. I don't have a problem with speed cameras either as they serve a purpose. I have a problem with the government touting these cameras as "saving lives" which the ignorant public swallows hook, line and sinker. We have no one to blame but ourselves because we vote these people in and we accept the crap they dish out without question.

  8. Thinks he means FC-Tune the software.
  9. Another style brake duct on Yahoo auctions.
  10. Silly old man. The issue is the government will spout this as life saving changes to get the ignorant voters to allow it through without questioning it's value. If you speed and you get caught then I have no problem with that at all. I have a problem with our tax dollars funding vote grabs by d!ckhead politicians instead of finding a real solution to the road toll. The number of near misses I have daily is getting ridiculous and not a single one involves speed, it all revolves around d!ckheads driving around with their heads jammed so far up their own a55es they can't see past the end of their own bonnet. Last time I checked there was no fixed d!ckhead cameras in the pipeline. (Yes I am bitter, I have had a car written off by a drunk old man in an expensive Euro running a red light. Tell me how speed cameras fix that.)
  11. Speed camera aren't about saving lives, it's about raising revenue. These camera locations are once again high volume traffic areas that have to my knowledge very few accidents causing serious injuries or fatalities. The most common accidents in these locations would be rear enders from people not paying attention to what's happening out the front window. Now people will have to watch their speed as well as talk on their mobile phone, that is really going to help.
  12. I saw a drift DVD at the news agent today. I only briefly looked at the cover but I think it sounded like it covered the entire 2007 DA series.
  13. They are steel compressor, ceramic exhaust or vice versa. Can never remember which way around it goes. Either way they are better than the 32/33 turbos but still not true steel wheel turbos. The factory ECU has a boost cut at 1.2 bar so that would tell you the safe limit of the turbos. The Blitz boost solenoids are generally considered the best of the plugin aftermarket controllers.
  14. Top Secret LE37s Plenty of both going on auction at the moment as well, depends how soon you want them.
  15. I have a NPC twin plate and love it. Not an overly hard pedal, good progressive pickup. I have done 20+ drag runs and 10 or so circuit days on it without a problem. Mine requires an OS Giken push/pull converter so without that it would have even better feel. I can't comment on a button clutch but if it's anything like their twin plates you won't be disappointed. Mark Jacobsen runs one in his 8 second drag GTR so it can't be a bad piece of gear. I know quite a few of his customers also use them without a problem.

  17. Cleaning doesn't do anything. I have no idea where the failure point is so couldn't tell if it would fix it or not.
  18. A friend in Japan told me standard 480ps, V-Spec 500ps and Evo 550ps models would be released (in Japan at least).
  19. I had the same problem in both my GT Foresters but much worse, it was the AFM both times. How many kms has it done? It is a common problem around 150,000kms+. If it is the same AFM as the Forester (the '00 model one I just bought was the same as the WRX) it will be around $200 for a '98/'99 model and $750 for a '00/'01/'02. edit: Also note, if it is the AFM is it running extremely lean (Forester was running 17 AFR and pinging audibly). Get it fixed asap before it costs you a motor.
  20. Isn't EZY34 a GT-T? Or am I thinking of someone else? Can you PM some details, time, locations etc.? My wife is flying out that day so it will depend how it fits in around that.
  21. At my last job 4 of us threw in for a dart board, last person left claiming ownership. Then on some days 2 of us would go for a "meeting" at the driving range for an hour.
  22. I know your pain, turn 1 with no steering on my 2nd lap out wasn't much fun. Thanks for the offer of assistance, we finally got the right belt on it just in time to drive home.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t185409.html I don't think they are doing the dodgy on you but I do think customer service has slipped to a distant second priority at the moment.
