  1. Well while your pulling the stereo out, take out the deadening too
  2. LoL thats INSANE man!
  3. LOL! I could reply two ways. But dude, I do this every weekend, and its the same thing every time. Trust me a lot of people who think they can drive cant. Yeah anyone can put their foot on a brake. Just 90% of people cant do it very well or with any thought in an emergency. You dont want to make people think they are bullet proof, we have had people do the advanced course with much the same additude as you, then they realised they should go do the basic one, to learn the basic skills properly. The whole 'drift school' thing... Joel has between now and christmas a booking at mt cotton and willowbank almost every day of the week. So creating ripples with Mt Cotton now is a REALLY bad thing. Trust me something will happen in regards to that. If Mt Cotton say no, then SDT will make their own skidpan most likely at willowbank with limited noise restrictions. The only place I have ever known drifting to be done legally in qld is QLD raceway and occasionally at indy etc. So councils have shut down nothing. Also Mt Cotton is a training center which companies hire out off the qld govt. So different schools/companies have different uses for it, with different courses.
  4. That and Mr tango Sir, cops do make mistakes, and they do get lazy they sure as heck do get cocky and some really dont know what they are talking about as they just skimmed over the breif. Add all that together... And yeah same deal I've had pleanlty a mate get off a defect notice due to it being falsely issued, although most times its never gone this far. A simple letter from DOT then another simple letter to the officers supervisor and its all been dropped. Most people are blah 1 point $75 bloody cops rah rah and pay it. Which is the same as speeding fines etc. I mean if a cop pulled you over near a speed change from say 70kmh - 60kmh and they said sorry son your 14kmh over. You would go, oh sorry must have been, try talk you way out of it. But when in all honesty you have NO idea that, that reading is from your car just as soon as you say yeah you were speeding if you were or werent you are done. They just hope and assume you will cop it, I guess thats why they are called cops! (ha.. ha...)
  5. I actually got some made up so I knew they were 100% exactly right for my hubs, studs and wheels. Cost about $80 each. Are obviously hub centrifical. And they are a SNUG fit as in Im going to have to think of a clever way to get them off. I've also had longer studs put in so there is still heaps of meat there. I cant say I notice the difference on the road, but when you put the wheel on you do... Hard to explain but I do feel safer. I got them from wheel revoultions in slacks creek - brisbane. So just pull up your white pages and put in 'wheels' and 'slacks creek' then scroll thru until you find them. [edit] forgot to mention they are just slip on ones. The smallest they made in bolt ons is 15mm
  6. Ok... this is quite funny some of this. Burn-outs. Burn-out comps are best. My mate got 1st prize with his efforts the other day out at archifield = $220 some oil and free entry next time.... in his dunga v8 commo, if he wins 3 more times he would have made money on the car! But there are HEAPS of them about, you just need to look. That and willowbank before you have a run. Advanced defencive driving courses... There are HEAPS again. If your cars exaust is legal (ie less that 90db at 4000rpm) then you can do them anywhere. Mt Cotton run them with a few places, but due to my wanting a free plug SDT is the only one I'll recomend. They use the LMVA and the skidpan, as its an actual COURSE its ok... It is done in your own car, and if they know you have been a few times before they change the LMVA things to mix it up a bit and make it more fun. Advanced race courses are a little more limited, but once again QLD raceway, and Morgan Park. Hopefully after Chrissy Mt Cotton will see the light with SDTs drift school and that will with any luck re-open. That and Paul always says with his track days there are a few people with the skills to help out with people driving. They are all held resonably reguaraly. The cost can be a bit prohibitive, but it is controlled conditions, your more likely to have some form of insurance (I know shannons do as it was one of the reasons I went with them), you have someone to show you what to do if you keep stuffing it up. And its safe, from crashing and cops... and your car wont be impounded. So when you weight it up it aint that bad! My thoughts anyway.
  7. Doesnt it depend on how your system is hooked up? If you have some funky plumped back catch can arangement, the normal air could be coming out of the atmo bov could it not? Not saying old mates is or isnt set up that way, but point is it could be. The trick is there is no black and white when it comes to modifications, there are too many different interpretations and different laws for each item. I think his point is the car was legal, DOT confirmed that it was. I also think 90% of it is the way the cop went about conducting the defects... Im guessing its just to shut the cop down more than anything.
  8. LOL that is funnnny! I think loose it. Because really what kind of quality are you going to get out of it, its a race car... so no sound deadening = no sound quality, noisy exaust and all that crap, so once again you wont hear it properly... Just listen to some music before you leave the house and humm to it! Also think, sell the stereo more money for the car!
  9. Dude you can still do the advanced defencive driving courses on the skidpan. Just as a club we can hire it out to 'drift' around it all day. Either way theres a bit in the pipeline for that, so fingers crossed it just wont be too long!
  10. Thats not defencive driving
  11. Mine was 86db at 800rpm... Went do 105db at 4000rpm or something stupid. Thats 3inch from the dump pipe back (stock dump). Just the cat and a cannon. Then I got two big arse mufflers put on 84db at 4000rpm. Still 3 inch. Its just so much better, I can now hear my stereo on the highway.
  12. I dont care Devina...
  13. See what did I say. Ask the questions
  14. Two things. 17 IS legal, wrong but legal. 2nd thing, she COULD have been kept down a year, so she COULD be 18... You need to ask these questions Shane.
  15. But is she hot? Hey someone had to ask it...
  16. I thought being sore 4-5 days after was normal? WEAK DAVE WEAK! Im pretty sure I working that day, so best of luck, hope you have a win dude, always good to go out with a bang!
  17. Hey dude, not being a pain in the arse, but did you send the PM to the rite person???
  18. AHAHAHAHA! 10 points to the boy~!
  19. Well someone is a bit bitter arent they
  20. As if its too late man. I remember a number of times we booked units 3-4 nites before NYE down there. Sure its going to cost ya, but they are about!
  21. I found out today my ceramic turbo can do 25psi. I also found the fuel system couldnt. While I was doing all this I also worked out what real pining sounds like. Then worked out why a vacume hose came loose when I did my spark plug change. So to sum it all up, Im not a mechanic
  22. Not trying to sound stupid man. But you started this topic saying "yay rain, shame my car is in the shop" which I personally would have thought to be implying you would have liked your car so you could drive it on the wet roads. Which once again personal oppinion on this, I would like to keep my car off the roads when its wet... Yet you seem to now agree skids are bad... I find that odd.
  23. I got wet. Had to work in it all day
  24. Get the bisteins off the SK group buy, get ken to put them in. Accurate is in Timms court. There details are in the 'services' thread if thats still sticked.
