  1. Yeah PM sent back too dude, dont mean to rush you but Im gone for a week as of tomorrow.
  2. *jumps up and down* I KNOW!!! Well I would take a fair stab at knowing anyway. #1 your old braking system you had to stand on the pedal, old brake lines, fluid, and your brake booster moving a bit, along with worn pads and disks = a fair bit of slack. Now you have taken littlerly allll of that slack away. You jump on it its going to lock up as there is NO give other than the tyre. I kinda had the same prob. You need to adjust your braking style to suit the new brake package. I really think its that simple.
  3. Did they shave?
  4. 1st thing thats a massive jip at $1k I would think anyway. I paid $900 or something for all the bearings box in box out AND a new selector for 5th/reverse as I smashed that (that alone was $350!) so really Id get a few more quotes, should be $600-700 I guess. That and or just change the oil see how you go with that? But hey it still works, might last a fair while. BTW my RB25 box conversion cost about $3200... When we pulled it all down I needed a new drive shaft as the stockos one bearing had also gone, the one piece was cheaper than repairing the old one (and weights less so we got a bit back there) clutch was shot, as was the lightweight fly wheel, so they both had to be replaced. So I guess just keep that in the back of your head. Thats also assuming you can find an rb25 box for a decent price.
  5. I have to ask tho, any reason at all that she was jumping on the brakes? Had you been maybe sitting a bit close, maybe had your highbeams on without knowing it... Maybe cut her off a few days ago and she was still fired up? Point is people dont bite until they are given a reason to, that lady seriously did not do that for NO reason. I love these storys hey.
  6. Qld street car has a babes section that you can post pretty much anything other than s@&t8h... So may I suggest post them there, then linkylinky!
  7. Cant afford an Aston. Buy a 911
  8. We actually had some guys do the advanced course the other day (3rd time doing it) and they decided they were going to go back and do the basic course... So in all honesty whats best is start off with the basics (braking, vision, basic cornering) then work your way up. As if you can't get them right what hope do you have at getting the rest right. (this isnt aimed at you turbo tim, just old mate, a lot of advanced courses are based on that you have done the basic ones first)
  9. Dude can you reply to my PM before tuesday nite so we can get things rolling, Im going on holiday for a week and wont have net, and or phone access at all.
  10. I wouldnt but hey. Id get angry and yell at the broken windscreen, maybe flash the lights once at him if I was in a reallllly bad mood. But I've seen what happens to angry drivers, there is no point. Really the question is, would you do it again if thats what happened to you, some guy trying to run you off the road? The next question is would you learn from this guys mistake. Or just try it to find out for yourself anyway? In all seriousness I can tell you now the VW driver had NO idea, and still has NO idea what he did wrong other than own a more expencive car. And once again we might not have the whole story here (may I refer to my MIGHT (this means we may or may not) have the whole story). There could have been say I dunno one of those caution flying rocks signs. The ones where its got 2 cars one is flicking rocks up at the other. We dont know. But we should all see the point here. 2 people are in the wrong in this story, not just 1 one more than the other (ie 4x4 owner) but hey. A situation that could have been easily avoided. Which also reminds me of a story I heard on here last week. Some dude was getting tailgated so he sped up to some stupid speed, car tailgating was a cop so he got booked. There were two other options he could have taken which would have been both safer and smarter. Slow down - this reduces speed which obviously reduces the stopping distance required. The car behind will then have enough time to stop. The other option is just pull over, let them pass. They are in more of a hurry, let them get done by the speed camera.
  11. I guess the trick is to find someone that has had theirs running for long enough to find out, and that hasnt been hit up too hard with repair bills that when it was working they werent scared too much... I shall now go run away and hide from all the nasty gtr owners that will want to bash me.
  12. Lucky your both ok. But Im going to be harsh here and go out on a limb (yes luxo 4x4 owners are the worst, at least when rich people buy s-classes they dont need to know how to drive) anyway. Just think about this for one second. Had you had a deep breath, and not done anything, not given him the bird, not then retaliated when he did the same back (as he probably didnt realise what he did wrong) you wouldnt have been in a potenally life threathing position. Serious dude hey, does take a bit, but a bit of a chill pill would have avoided that situation... Not saying what the other guy did was right by a long way, he definately needs some form of punishment.
  13. LoL, good day of racing today by the looks of things! HAHA!
  14. cough gtr oil surge cough meant to be superdooperracecar cough. Deadset on a 1 billion dollar job someone has to make one mistake, fact is they found it, and are doing something about it. Unlike say hmmm a ford pinto! Just really annoys me how many of you are so quick to jump on it. Really, think how many Aussies wouldnt have job if these cars werent being made here.
  15. Given all the different replies with different answers I feel I can be a bit of a smart arse one this one. Its when someone buys a 318i 4 door BMW and puts some cheap m replica wheels on it, and an M badge. Seriously dude do a search. Its been covered more times that happy birthday.
  16. 1 week to holiday time!
  17. Never said you did mate... But if he knows his driving skill might not be up to scratch (which is mighty good of him to say, as most people are far to proud to admit it much less do anything about it) then say you go round a corner, front wheels hit some small pebbles bit of a slip, panic lock up = slide = off side of mountain = hurt car, person, or worse. I'm a little anal about it, but I dont want to see anymore people die litterly infront of me on the roads because they think they can drive.
  18. Hmmm I can see in 6months time some police harrasment charges all so being filed...
  19. Id personally still suggest the courses before that... As its controlled conditions, peoeple can tell you what to and not to do, and give you advice. Bit hard to do that once your sliding off the mountain edge. Just my educated oppinion tho. The drifting thing btw hasnt been resolved as yet. Basically atm Joel is too busy with all the highschool stuff between now and the end of the year to do much about it, so early next year hopefully it all gets sorted quite quickly. But yeah SDT FTW!!! (yes shamless free plug!)
  20. http://www.sdt.com.au/SDTMAINMENU.htm Try them. It really is best to do the basic course first then move your way up. They have courses at Mt Cotton and Willowbank.
  21. Thanks man, I sent you a PM along with some other small bits Im after if its not too much hassle.
  22. Id like to quickly point out a few things. The snowy has no where near enough water for all of Australia as thats the problem we are starting to face. A desalination plant is a very small bandaid. Say putting a bandaid on your toe when both of your arms have been cut off. Its also stupidly expencive. Then the water tank issue. We were orginally from the country, and had 2-3 tanks. Only ever had to buy water once in 10 years. Then we moved to the suburbs, and wanted some small rain water tanks. The council said no as it promotes mosquitoes... Unhealthy etc etc, which is just crap. Toowoomba is on level 5 as a majority was stupid enough to vote no to recycled water. Which as a fact is 6 star rated water, its TOO clean, they have to put stuff in it before putting it in to the system. The rest of SEQLD is about to go on to level 4... The only logical solution is recycling the water. Hey its what happens in nature anyway... It might be a different story down south, but thats the go up here. Yes the little man you pay $15 for uses the same amount of water as you, and hell if he comes round your house to do it he uses YOUR water which YOU then pay for. The buckets just dont work. I personally just dont wash my car now, I might pay the little man to do it once a month in summer just because Im going to be down the beach more and the salt air might become a rust issue. Washing the car weekly really is a waste of water tho... hence the laws. The idea is buckets is too hard so people wont bother.
  23. That or it would have failed...
  24. Yes they are, espcially up the sunshine coast when I want to skimboard!
  25. Yeah fine sunny and WINDY AS A MOFO!!! I had to put so much sand on the bottom of my skimboard to weigh it down I could hardly run with the barstard! NO MORE WIND!!!
