Removing Abs From My R32 Skyline
dangerous_daveo replied to Remix-'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Is your car purely a race car and your getting paid money to race it? If not, your throwing your money away for no serious advantage. You might lose 3kgs tops. Just loose some weight. Or at least thats what I was told when I asked numerous people about removing my abs system. -
Dude, its your life hey. Just get in asap! Dont leave it to next year if you can avoid it. But yeah, I know I let the ones that think they can go for it, I complment them on what they are doing right, knowing they will make a mistake then BAM! When they make it I smash their confidence, and they drive sooo slow after that around our little track. But there is no teaching some people... One guy had a BIG acco a few years back, got his licence back after it, decided to do the course hoping he would not crash again, did ok in most things, not as good as he thought he would... Then left doing a nice one wheeler... Just no hope for some. But yeah, post before hit the nail on the head. Ps at 17, voting starts at 18... They dont give a toss damn pollys.

So... how the hell are you on the net!?

Ahaha! Good day at work today! Went 4x4ing for an hour!

I've actually got lucas pads in, Im suprised at how good they go. Bit of dust but not too bad. WAY better than the rb74s dust wise, and they arent eating my disks as much. Dont know about track tho, but havent had fade on the street, and sometimes I give them a bit of a go just to make sure everything is still working. Dont know exactly the type tho, they would have been about $100-110 a pair.

I dont. Some might do ok. But time after time after time we have 1 day to get people out of their bad habits their fathers teach them. One father even said 'defencive driving courses teach you nothing'. What Gary is saying is, passing the test is compleatly different to being able to safely drive a car.

Dominos are so dodgy brothers hey. Some of the stuff they do is so low. They were way better back in the Silvios days!

Just a bit of rain hey. Very heavy rain, but not for long.

Hello :) Has Anyone Seen My Old Lil33 Around?
dangerous_daveo replied to LIL33's topic in Queensland
Wow, took 11hours. Thats pretty long. BTW, I am not talking about how long it took to upload the photo. That can actually be quite annoying at times. -
LoL. And blur mate, its about the well being of the site. If others have to pay to sell the same product, so should this guy.

That sounds a lot like a trader ad to me!

I think what he is saying is, if it was your highest mph, why wasnt it your fastest time. But 9s with a powerglide yeah yeah!!

N1 Oil Pump Killed My Engine .....
dangerous_daveo replied to campbell's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Once again depending on who you talk to. From what I have been told the N1 pumps are slightly more suited to higher rpm applications. In which case the stock item is the way to go. But hey, just what I have been told. I havent got the equipment to do my own independent tests. -
Haha, what a joke. They dont expect people to learn how to read, write, and add up without getting taught how to. So how in gods name do they expect people to be able to drive. 50hours or even 130hours wont help, it will just give them more time to pick up bad habits. Which is why parents teaching their kids is such a bad idea. The parents most of the time have NO idea. Everytime we can pick the kids who have been trained by either their parents, or even old school trained driving instructors. They get messed up, and I have to go fix up road cones. They pick up very bad habits. Banning nite driving wont help either. If little johnny has a car, little johnny needs a job after school, which wont finish until 9-10pm. So little johnnys parents have to go pick him up! WTF ARE THEY THINKING!!! And just bringing the age back to say, well 25yo. That wont work either, it will just mean older people will die from being stupid. It wont be out of their system. That or they will just drive anyway. And with the whole sticky situation thing, once again comes back to the training. If you get taught you can see ahead and work out whats going to happen, and do something to avoid it with ease. Just not get in to a skid in the first place. But hey, people are stupid.

Impressed With Justcar Insurance
dangerous_daveo replied to Jimbo2000's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Not trying to sound silly, but I dont think there are too many new cefiro parts floating around. Ditto with many other imports. Hey if it was a brand new car I take it back. But if it was an import give them a little slack. Either way what I find is funny how many people are happy with how well they took the cancelation Bit ironic. -
Well if its the sring, just get another spring Either way the bilstiens are the better option.

Depends on which one you do, and who you do it with. Our basic one for shools etc is half theory, half practical. There is NO skidpan training at all. We do proper emergency braking in wet, in many different cars some are good, others are rubbish. We do a small circuit, to make sure they get their hands right, and their vision raised. Then we do an emergency braking lane change, where most people lock up and go the wrong way even tho we have said 50% braking. By the end of it most people have worked this out. We also do the thing with the beer goggles, show them what a real standard drink is, show them what happens with tailgating, how to check your tyre pressure, how to check your tyre wear etc. That course is from memory about $200, unless the court system sends you there... But to prove the point, Roma up here in QLD has a higher than average P plate drive crash/death rate. So the town got together and decided no one passes until they have done a defencive driving course (happens to be our one) and the death rate has drop dramaticly, I think almost to 0. So it does work... And remember this is qld. No P plates have to be shown, P platers can do the 110kmh speed limit etc. Roma also give their drink drivers an option of pay the big fines, or pay us to do a course, which has specifically been designed for drink drivers. The figures with that are interesting too. Seems the ones that just pay the fine get done again, the others who have done the course dont. (that course is basically a simulation, with a wheel and big screens etc) And rezz, the whole over confidence thing is from back in the day with the skidpans. No one really uses them for their basic course anymore. Our skidpan (advanced) course cant be done if you are under 21 and havent done the basic course.

Hahaha, car show called "jamboree" by any chance? hehe

LoL, but not trying to sound stupid dude. But how about R32, R33... Cause I sure as heck didnt see any R34s racing. Same engine, same sound, slower times, (bar one...) pretty much the same car even... Just pointing it out End of it all, the bikes got me, crazy barstards.

TWICE!!! Far out, I would have expected a little more, but not twice! To say, rah rah gene pool, rah rah, inexperience rah rah. It is simple, teach people how to drive. Not show them how to park, show them how to change gears all that. Show them how to drive properly, then teach them how to do it. In controlled conditions put these people out of their safety zones. I mean today for example, we had 2 groups, quite small. 1st group young buch of school girls, sent out to us by their school. They did really well, asked questions, you could see improvment, they noticed their own improvement, and how it was worth while. 2nd group, some were rah rah I dont need to do that I'll never have a car with abs or airbags, well sorry you just will, I feel only 2-3 people from the second group went away with anything. So maybe the people who did bugger all should get the restrictions. I mean hey they do it with insurance, you do the course your insurance is cheaper, it obviously works. BTW, for the record I'm a defencive driving instructor on weekends etc, hence Im somewhat a bit more passionate about this kind of stuff...

And your single?

I saw him at the start line for one run hey. Two things that got me were the amount of bs fast cars. Was awesome. And how many cars still had problems, but they didnt seem to phase them. Just kept the boot in. It was just hurting to see and watch it.
-
Dude, not trying to tell you what to do... But wouldnt finding out what the problem actualy is be a good idea before spending money if you dont need to. But hey, if you want them anyway then by all means just change them. But if its not what the problem is then your throwing money away.
