(hows my translation?) The article written in Japanese is a little bit hard to translate, coz bits are chopped off at the bottom of the page, but basically it says: Porsche has a skill of making power, Lotus has chassis and suspension skill, so Nissan (read: Ghosn) is checking them out, and looking for a possible partner to share development. The 280ps self-imposed power limit in Japan is all but a memory now, so the next GT-R will be 400+ hp... and so on. I need my wife to help me out with the rest, but she just went to bed. :headspin:

Fffffffwhat I think you'll find is that the new GT-R will pipple-o-popple-lopously be based on the "V"35 platform... without question. It WILL be a "xx-V35 GT-R". All this "R35" business is sprouting from pre-2001 Tokyo Motor Show rumours about the current Skyline... even some Japanese guys were saying "R35". But now they've all changed their tune. Right... I can't really find anymore info on them... other than the size and PCD of that particular wheel I posted above, suffice to say they're out of production, seem to be relatively rare (other guys who have them are going to great extents to keep them looking new) and are pretty renowned as an "oldskool" type rim. They're made by SSR (quality and lightweight), and SSR are the dons of the oldskool as far as racing style rims go...

I've also seen the HKS GTR putting out over 1500 Hp and running 51 psi of boost. There is also the 1360 hp fully road registered and street legal (yes it passes emissions) veilside GTR. Considering all the factors epecially price the GTR is more than a match for any diablo. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the skyline has also been detuned. See nissan only sets the injector duty cycle at 80% from the factory, meaning the skyline can only run at 80% efficiency. Another little issues is the boost restrictor plug placed inside the engine that forces all the boost through a tiny hole, simply remove it and you get instant free power. Take RazorGTR's R23 skyline for an example. He removed the plug, bought an aftermarket chip to take care of the 80% duty cycle problem and he runs an 11.82 @ 112 mph in full street trim including spare wheel and all tools and full interior...ooh wow only 300 bucks and hes running 11's in a car that was built in 1992. BTW incase you are wondering...he only paid 14K for his car, nowhere neat the price of the diablo. Proud member of the NISSAN SKYLINE Fan club Have a Skyline Question?
