  1. I think you're a 'bogna'...
  2. I doubt you're living in the Ikeda I'm talking about... he's my mate, and also the Japan section of my parts business "K's Garage". As for tuning F-Cons in Perth, no one car afaik, so just go the emanage or PowerFC.

Sptted this very creative boot lid on Auto Gallery: Personally I think the rest of the car is overdone, and the aerodynamic qualities of the bootlid are questionable, but it's different I'll give it that.

What was the story behind that?

lol @ 'jihad-world.com' Worst S15 wide guards, and worst boot install (RX-7) ever.
  6. Yeah... my Silvia was an '88, so it came under the (newly updated) 15 year ruling, and I only owned it in Japan for a couple of months anyhow. Having said that though, the work required to get it registered in WA sent me back $1,000 which I hadn't bargained on. The R32 on the other hand was eligable for personal import, but because I had proof of purchase going back to mid 2004, it was eligable for 15 year import under the old scheme aswell. So we opted to import as a 15 year old car. Either way in this case personal or 15 year old import there wasn't much difference. We didn't de-gas either car, and we devalued both cars... well I tell a lie... the Silvia was *literally* bought for $700, and I ended up paying a grand total of $22 for stamp duty! Eat it Johnny Howard!! Convincing the ladies at the Licensing center was a bit tedious.
  7. Ok, I got a reply: Hello there thanks for the mail. I'll do my best to answer the question. 1.I don't have the stock for the taillight conversion at the moment. After I get prices for all the parts, I could make it but be aware that the charge changes according to the design and the number of LEDs used. (he needs a set of tailights, LEDs, circuit boards, solder, Silastic glue etc and a particlar design - Rezz). 2.There is no installation manual sorry. It is not possible to put together instructions as it's something I'm not so good at. I also fear there will be too many enquiries thereafter. I don't know how to go about sending tailights to overseas destinations such as Australia, so any delivery would have to be sent to a Japanese address. My best regards. I could have these tailights sent to my mate in Japan and then forwarded on to you (or anybody else for that matter) in Australia... but I have a feeling you might be looking at some $500 tailights plus postage...
  8. SKY031 is right of course, one thing that the Japanese DO do well is make a well designed car, and limiting the appeal of such cars (by using the native language on the car) would limit their success overseas. So why do they use English on their domestic cars? Because English is cool. I'm serious... could you imagine them using Japanese words to name a car? Like 'Chiheisen' (horizon) for a new SUV type vehicle? It maybe cool in a quirky kinda way for some of us non-Japanese, but in Japan 99% of the time English sells.
  9. I once had a discussion to a male (Japanese) student about chikansu and related stuff, and at first he was 'on the back foot' because I wanted to talk about one of the more sinister aspects of squeaky clean Japanese culture ... after about 10 minutes though, he was looking me straight in the eye and saying "You're a guy, so you've thought about approaching a girl in public and... well... haven't you? Most men do, so it's just a fact of life. Many girls are too sexy and inviting... what can you do?" hmmm <_< I'm NOT standing up for these freaks, and I'm not trying to understand their perspective, I just thought I'd mention a reason why it happens. Oh and Gojira... email me mate, I'm still waiting for your Chrissy and New Years best wishes...
  10. I've sent Maruto Works an email mate... the mail is in Japanese so I hope it gets answered this time
  11. This thread kinda died a quick death didn't it? I didn't know at the time that the webspace I was using wasn't going to last forever... not to mention how time consuming getting all those details typed down was. If I can, I'll still add to this thread, but it's gotta be a car that more than 3 people want to know about!!!
  12. Just getting back to the original post, I see 'Robbie Bolger' was mentioned in the same sentence as 'Commodore wanker' symbolcally . Without going into too much detail, there was a thread over at www.nissansilvia.com where ppl were talking about the Commodores in the Drift Australia rounds. People (myself included... dunno why now! ) were concerned about the bogan situation if Robbies Ute or whatever Commodore started winning. You know, like bogans going to the drift rounds specifically to bag the Jap-crap blah blah blah. Robbie came back and totally missed the point and started verbally abusing (keyboard stylez) anyone who even remotely seemed like they supported Japanese cars. He behaved like an extremely spoilt 6-year old. And this Bolger dood thinks he represents the 'professional drivers' of drift Australia... that guy needs a full paid up PR representative to speak on his behalf I swear. That thread mysteriously got deleted some time ago...
  13. Here are some pics with the body kit on: The kit was supposed to be a Vertex copy one, but when I picked the car up it had a 'Wise Sports' front bumper on... meh, it looks ok I guess. The front suspension issue will get fixed on Thursday, so the full set of 19x9.5s will be on then. After that... a full respray, with newly painted wheels, aero mirrors, carbon bonnet, carbon boot lid... and if my younger brother ok's it... CARBON DOORS
  14. It's the new VE. Take a look at the spy photos in last months (?) Wheels magazine, then compare them to that pic in the first post... so it's LHD... testing the export version for UAE etc? I thought all European makers (hot weather) tested their cars in the US?
  15. You people do realize that 'stoopid mod stylez' are a bastion of North American culture don't you?? Stop acting like this is the first time you've seen such a monstrosity... the REALLY sad thing is that there are Europeans and Japanese that actually copy these styles and think that somehow, because it's out of the US of A that it's good/wikid/ass-ome etc. .. then again, look at the Sydney chromies and airbrush scene...
  16. Didn't get a chance to drive it... the front rims were contacting the helper springs on the coilovers. I'd say sidewall flex won't be an issue though
  17. Ikeda: We have everything... dyno, A/F, knock sensor etc... no problems. I thought you could do F-Con V... anyway, an F-Con S is still better than standard so I'll choose that for the time being if you can tune it. I hope Troy can get time off!!! Dino: Cooling hasn't been too bad actually (to my suprise). We had 35 degrees today, but the temp guage was hovering just under halfway... pretty good fans behind the radiator I think
  18. This next post is dedicated to all yo Sydneyside Impul haterz... Streched more than King Kong's love glove... 225/35/19 on 9.5" Guard issues? ...nay... Suspension issues? ...f*ck yes. The front coilover helper springs are contacting the rim. A 20mm 4 to 5 changer is on it's way. The 15mm changers will go on the back to keep the front/rear track remotely similar I was clicking my heels together Russian Cossack style when I saw that I didn't need to pump any guards. Just a little guard rolling will sort everything out nicely... AS WELL AS A PROPER SLAMMING. In 'street' context the whole thing actually looks legitimate... but just wait till the ride height is sorted and the kit is on end of next week...
  19. Butler: I don't really know when he's coming... even he doesn't know. I don't wanna spoil his holiday by asking him to work when he's here either... but you never know, he might offer to help out (?) Nick T: Thanks muchly for the props mate but the Rega's have to go... with the new paint and carbon bits (oops...) the Rega's will look kinda 'not shiny new' if you know what I mean...?
  20. If all goes well, my good friend Akihiro and his family will come down from Japan sometime this year, and as he can get wholesale on HKS stuff (and just happens to be a certified HKS F-Con tuner for SuperAutobacs 171 Nishikoya) so I'll make sure an F-Con is in his suitcase before he comes. He used to post up here in the Japan forum from time to time... あきひろ さん!もしこの会話をよんだら、ここになんかメセージして下さい。
  21. For the moment I'll be running the stock ECU, but an HKS F-Con V will be in sometime this year I hope...
  22. Yeah, it's called 'ES'. The guys who painted it here thought I was on drugs when I told them the paint code (because it's so new). They got the paint sample flip thingy and tried to tell me it was Magna super Red or something... which it wasn't. No, the offsets between R32 and S13 are different, but not by much. Actually, the S13 now has 15mm 4-5 stud changers on the front, and 10mm 4-5 stud changers on the back. So thats 10 - 15mm on top of the +30 - 35mm offset of the wheels. There are no guard issues whatsoever, but I've had one or 2 guys already say that I should - get this - SINK THE WHEELS BACK INTO THE GUARDS. Nope. Anyway, 19x9.5 STARCORP IMPULS are going on this week (supplied by MAR55S - cheers mate  ) ready for some guard pumping and aero front fenders.
  23. Lets forget about the Skyline for a minute... Remember my old girl in my sig? For those who don't know it *was* a 1988 Nissan Silvia Q's 5MT with a wheezy 1.8 CA18DE. It was quite humiliating watching Civics blast by at speeds which were... well let's be honest... out of reach of the CA18. Now, it's got the RB20DET from my old R32. I can't explain the WEIRDNESS of driving a R32 GTS-t in Japan for well over a year, then buying another car, shipping the both to Australia, then taking the very familiar RB20DET then putting it into my new car... which I also drove in Japan for a few months. It's like the heart and soul of the R32 lives on in the Silvia. Anyway, enough blabbing: Halfway point in the buildup... Thats Mitsubishi 380 'Molten' red with gold flake in the engine bay, which the whole car will be sprayed in the beginning of February. I didn't try and catch the gold in the pics, it's just too hard. Theres still a Blitz BOV, strut tower bar, boost controller, GReddy intake manifold, low mount stailess exhaust manifold etc, etc, etc to go in yet. Probably the main reason why RB20's in S13's aren't such a good idea... cooling. But the power to weight ratio with 175kw and around 1100kg is too good to resist The free RB20DET helped in the decision too Regamaster 17x8 and 17x9's were stolen from the R32 too - with the help of some 4 to 5 stud changers. 4 studs are quite frustrating if you want decent wheels and don't live in Japan... Some of you might notice the 'Made in China' intercooler and exhaust. This wasn't my choice, but the price we got these new components for was incredibly cheap - almost obscene... and when your brother is picking up the bill... well... you can't complain! Thank you China Some other bits that will go on in due time.
  24. ^^^ Hahaha ok thanks Sl!m... let that be the end of the matter. Please don't shower this thread with 'pwned' pics now people. Cheers
  25. Aaaaah... not... really. Your a top bloke Richard but the wheels are one thing we did 'skimp on'. They're the fake ones We went for the world (well Sydney's West) renowned Starcorp Impuls because my younger brother runs "Tech 9 Tyres" here in Perth and exclusively stocks all Tempe Tyres stuff. We half wanted to support his business and half wanted to save money... We did bid on spastic offset Fabulous wheels on the auctions at first, but when bidding exceeded the *very* good price we could get the Starcorps for, we opted for the brand new - but fake - Impuls. Having said that, the Starcorps look almost legit in 19" with the proper curved outer lip. The 18" versions didn't pass scrutiny by a long shot (trying very hard not to piss anyone off!) with the squared off lip like silver gts-t mentioned. But the dish is decent, especially as we wanted to go for a 'GT-R offset' front and rear with the same width front and rear. Some people might object to that, but all I can say is wait till they're finished Incidently, my S13 is ready to be picked up today with the RB20DET from the wine-red R32 all in place. It'll also get the 19" Starcorps with 9.5" front and rear... I'll put some pics up tomorrow.
