  1. That looks fookin sweet. If I had a silver 32 I would've done the same...
  2. Shan, I thought your 32 was getting the BN widebody kit? What happened to that? The Aeromaster wide fenders fitted very well indeed. For the (Japanese) money, they were top notch. A customer at the SuperAutobacs I used to hang around at had the R32 Aeromaster 'Type 1' kit, and the fit around the rear lights left fairly large gaps too... he said they didn't mount it properly even though the gap along the boot lid area between the lights was perfect? [scratch head]
  3. Aaaah... now this man pays attention your HCR looks tuff with that GT-R bumper/wheel combo too... I know your cars been like that for years now but I've always fancied the genuine 32 GT-R bumper on HCRs.
  4. But I want people to kiss my ass!!!
  5. Monk: Drop $10,000+ on your project and lets see how bubbly and enthusiastic you are when unknown internet users feel the need to drop their 2c on how they don't like certain things about it. It happens, I shouldn't concern myself about anonymous comments and I'm very well aware of that (thanks for the heads up anyway cobber ), but after the first 3 replies I could see where it was going so I got tired of it. 'Pre-menstrual' my ass  I'm not interested in this anymore so PM me if anyone wants to see anymore pics/updates. Oh btw... this thread was to show the transformation of a fairly shitty R32 Type M to a semi-full rebuild that spanned 2 countries and $10,000+ in mods and to show 1 or 2 people that I did indeed have a car in Japan and wasn't making it all up... not to have my ass kissed.
  6. I was gonna say that just because someone posts pics up of a car it doesn't mean it's open season for ricer remarks... I might add that this is my younger brothers car and he likes what he's doing so thats all there is to it. Was I expecting people to kiss my ass was I Monk??? I think your concept of this thread is a bit off...
  7. What. Everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Why are a whole bunch of people picking on the R32 all of a sudden? Shan, you're at the forefront with the rice comments... just give it a rest eh? If you don't like it just keep it to yourselves.
  8. Hahaha! You posted up a comment here that should've be directed to [email protected]

    Learning Japanese

I just wanna add that 'making mistakes' is the only way you can get to semi-fluent level quickly... just open your mouth and spit it out, if it comes out wrong (and you have a native speaker around) they'll correct you every time... but pay attention to the correct way and not the mistake!! My 2c...
  10. So does that mean you're gonna get with the "REZZOLUTION" and install some clear LED taillights too Nick??? Hahaha... I won't hold it against you if you don't... Christian: Will do mate, just give me a few days. By the way, got any pics of your R32?
  11. Not another one... ...Satans ass... LOL Have you ppl seen them on a car in the metal? They look like daimonds on my back... D-daimonds on my back... woooh!!! I think you guys really do like them, but are bowing to intehnet-pop culture and saying that they look like ass... but if you reeeally don't like them... heres a t-shirt: Cheers Christian
  12. Got 'em, just haven't put em on. As for the tail lights... they're different, and as far as I could tell no one (here) had them... so they got the nod. Besides, I think you guys are teh ghey for *not* liking Altezza's...   ... mmmmm altezza's...
  13. JUst a very minor update... new tail lights: And it's not a Skyline... hell it isn't even a Nissan, but my other brother from the same mother just bought a CC Lancer GSR from Sydney and drove it all the way to Perth, thats 4000k's... it's another project car, so we'll have 3 cars getting pretty extensive mods. The Lancer has 11 second quarters as a goal:
  14. These rants are all pretty good, but what about the Mitsubishi/Honda/Toyota Carolla 'lil f**kahz that do pretty dangerous maneuvers just to get your attention? Example: I was coming up to the roundabout at the High Road - Nicholson Rd T-junction (SoR), dropped it down to 3rd and toched the brakes slightly to enter the - now empty - roundabout. OUT OF NOWHERE (probably just left the BP station) this stupid looking Mitsubishi Mirage almost locks it up behind me entering the roundabout on the inside lane (2 lane roundabout) then darting out to the outside lane to overtake me at least doing 65km/h... WTF??? The Mirage understeered heavily on exit forcing him to brake hard, with me coasting by sticking in my lane of course. I just wish that guy busted his chromies on the curbing... that would've been a good ass-skooling for him I'd say. To make things even more gayer, we have to stop at the traffic lights at the Roe Highway overpass, and the... "gentleman"... wound his window down to blast me with his Gay Dancefloor Anthems 2005 CD... since when was this behaviour considered cool??? Anyway, I previously thought this kind of stuff was limited to VN Commodere drivers but I've been gravely mistaken.
  15. I got a blue one of those from Raybrig for the interior... also got these bwadbwoys for taillights/indicators/pacecar flashers:
  16. Welcome to the forums Drew I think you're the only member in Nagoya at the moment. Care to post up some pics of the Nagoya area? I ask because even though I spent over 5 years in Osaka/Kobe, I never once went to Nagoya... only viewed the city from the Shinkansen station.
  17. Merry (late!) Christmas and Happy New Year to all the Japan forum regulars It's great to see this forum still going strong with alot of new members now in Japan too. Meri-Kuri to, Akeome! (Merry Christmas - Meri-Kuri is a shortened version, Akeome is short for Akemashite Omedetou - Happy New Year phrase)
  18. Yeah, I totally agree with you. I've never been close enought to intervene with chikansu, but I had a problem with the voyuer type. My own experience with these guys was when my missus and I were waiting at Itami station in Osaka. This kinda nerdy looking guy was taking photos with his phone in our direction. I didn't bother with it at first, but after the 3rd time his little green light went off (with him holding the phone up photo-taking style) I went over to him and asked bluntly in Japanese "what are you doing? Did you take a picture of my wife?" to which he said "I don't understand... I didn't do anything!" I asked again and agian... then I snatched the phone off of him while he was frantically pressing buttons. Sure enough, he had deleted the first 2 pics, but one was left... the guys was trying to grab the phone back but I managed to see that he had taken a zoomed-in photo of my wifes legs from the waist down... By this stage unbelievably my wife was saying "Sorry!!!" to the guy!!! She took the phone off me and gave it back to the guy!! By this time the train had arrived and the guy sprinted onto the train and went to the front carriage. I could've murdered the guy, but at the same time I forcibly took his possesion. What can you do? I hope I scared him into no doing it again but I don't think so. I must admit the guy had balls to take photos in full view like that... must've been a serial phot voyuer. If anything, I think it's the Japanses way of non-confrontation that perpetuates this, so nothing short of the public at large intevening every time will stop it from happening.
  19. Lol top rant!
  20. This is the engine finally coming out of the S13: Heres 'Banga' (local Perth Cefiro drifter boy) surveying the up until now GHEY engine bay. The old CA18DE was in *very* good condition wear-wise, but was suffering problems with ignition modules and A/F meters... CA's usually have this problem as now they're geting into the 'ancient' category. Undoing the driveshaft. Watching Banga ever so carefully remove the engine and gearbox with a forklift was awesome. At first I thought they were gonna remove it from underneath the car, but after seeing it done this way, it seemed easier. The whole thing was out in under an hour... top job guys! The engine and gearbox sold that very night for A$500. Heres something that you don't see every day! While the guys were pulling the engine from the Silvia, we walked around AGI Automotive and found this: A Nissan Patrol Race 'Car'. It contests dirt trials, and if you look veery closely, you can juuuust make out something extreeeeemly out o0f place: GOOD son of rajab IT'S AN RB26DETT!!! With 350hp at the wheels no less. More on this ride later. One more pic from our workshop (the Aussies here might see the irony), we had a Ford Falcon GT ute and a HSV Maloo R8 ute in our shop at the same time... I actually got to drive the R8 (with the 6.0 Gen IV) and holy shit... the girls got some balls. I'm no convert, but the VZ 6.0 Gen IV HSV's are the pick of the Holden bunch without question.
  21. Some more pics of the R32: The rear track will be widened by 10mm or more to be even with the front, we don't wanna do that until she's ready to be painted (with the rear guards rolled and slightly flared). Regardless what anyone says , the front wheels are perfectly offset outwards The enlarged front 'mouth' gives the whole R32 'face' a real 'Whaleshark-like' eerm... 'expression'... must hard being an art critic Fibervision here in Perth have made a custom surround to go around the intercooler mouth to cover up the gaps and what have you. It's still at Fibervision getting cleaned up. The rear bumper will be modified to feature a proper diffuser a la SuperGT. Of course all this work will be color coded in deep Mitsubishi 380 'Molten' redish-gold, with super gloss black wheels, mirrors, diffuser, front splitters etc.
  22. Rays have a good selection of center caps on their website, but as far as I know, they don't ship internationally. If you know someone who resides in Japan, you could have them get them for you. They cost around $45 - 50 for a set without shipping. Mind you, the white center caps you're probably after are just plain white center caps with no markings. It's possible that a wheel manufacturer here in AU could have a set? It just seems like alot of trouble getting 'genuine' Rays center caps that are really just generic caps found on alot of locally produced wheels.
  23. But I'm not trying to look for a race... thats the really annoying thing. Public roads aren't there for that kind of thing. I would have no hesitation going down to Kwinana to settle a bet or something though (when my cars finished... just waiting on 'Banga' to do his world famous 1 hour engine swap )
  24. Insurance for my R32 GTS-t through Sony Sonpo was 7,000 yen/month... Demon Dave I'd say you got a pretty good deal for insurance!
  25. Thanks Dino! Coming from you mate thats a huge compliment especially as the car looks like a prop from Mad Max 3... To be honest, I NEVER even thought the R32 would get this far... and the S13 Silvia will be an even bigger tranformation. But I'm not gonna post up anything about that yet...
