Hello guys, I'm here now... ... in Canning Vale. I was all pumped up on the weekend with the fine weather and all, but now I'm a bit of a downer... what with my Dad's 256k *cough* BROADBAND *cough* lame internet, and NO CAR! I'm kinda stranded... On the bright side though, my older brother just bought an almost new bright yellow S15 Silvia GT Spec S (auto - he can't use his left arm) and my other brother Nick (Tech 9 tires) has this crazy Toyota van with 20" wheels... all I could say was "WTF"? I won't be able to cruise with any of you until the end of October as my cars don't arrive until the 13th, and then I've gotta do all the compliancing and registering etc etc. Whats the next big event that alot of you guys will be attending? -
Exactly right... the guys I talked to (SuperAB, MOH) all were too busy with work from their Japanese customers, let alone some Aussie mofos 10,000km's away... Btw, I'm now "an Aussie mofo" 10,000km away from Japan... WOOHOO!
-
Yep, so long as they stick to the facts... you should put that in massive capital letters so noobs don't forget! It's a pity the real damage comes as a result of ordinary people jumping to conclusions... things can get very one sided very quickly.

The only M-Spec is in the R34 range... all R33 turbo's are GTS25t Type M.

Thats awesome stuff as always Dino!

What does 'Neo' mean? Well, the Neo part is another of Nissans gems in the form of names for engines, along the same lines as 'PLASMA' and Toyota's 'BEAMS'... Neo = Nissan Ecology Oriented VVL = Variable Valve Lift (and timing) What the f*ck is 's' for? Aaaah, the 's' in RB25DETs is used to signify a plural...

Thanks Masa and Shaun. I'll be sure to check those places out. Actually theres a whole bunch of other stuff which I can't remember off the top of my head... girls stuff like Shu Uemura cosmetics and a good beauty salon thats good with the Japanese styles... hahaha I think one or two guys will know what I mean by that. -
Bwahahaha... I was just gonna say "wtf is an R35???"
-
All up total including all associated bullshit it's costing me A$4,200 for a 40 foot container. When it arrives in Perth there are additional customs and quarantine costs aswell.

And for those just *chewing at the bit* wanting to see what these dolls look like: http://www.dollnomori.com/main.html SCARY. SHIT.

^^^ Thats why I like this guy! Good work Masa and not a compliant at all! Man I looked at those instructions and though 'oh geeeez...' hehehe
-
Yep, but if you can get a cheap ceffy or S13 and fit it and as many parts as possible into a 20 footer it'll be easy enough for one guy to do... just need the cash up front. Poida I'm doing a 40 foot container and shipping 2 cars right now, and even the 40 foot is reasonable if you were to sell both cars when they land. Any parts that you can fit in there is a bonus.

So you're asking people what they think of a workshop that they've never ever been to, let alone had work done by them??? Mate in all honesty it's be better to use babelfish whatever to translate your request into Japanese and post it up on a Japanese BBS forum... and good luck on getting a reply! I've had all my work done by my local SuperAutobacs and one small local garage called Furukawa Auto. When I was contemplating an engine overhaul last year, I was thinking about getting Garage Endless to do it, but their additional fees (ontop of parts and labour!) just blew me away. They managed to quote me the total job price 300,000 yen + 80,000 yen (A$950) for... aaah... nothing? I *shudder* to think what Veilside would do to your hip pocket all in the name of 'notoriety'.

Poida, take it from me, don't just think about sending your LSD alone. Get some mates together and do big group buys and fill up a 20 footer container and do it that way. Alternatively, have the LSD attched to something large - like a car - then stuff it in said 20 footer. There is no cost effective way to send single items over 30kg.

It's worked out according to vehicle dimensions and engine capacity. So a Kei car will be cheaper than say a Toyota Crown Majesta. For my R32, I had to pay 46,000 yen (A$541) a year. So for the R32, I had running costs like this: 6,000 yen/fortnight fuel 15,000 yen/month parking 7,000 yen/month insurance (3rd party, fire, theft) 46,000 yen/year tax 100,000 yen (roughly)/every 2 years shaken (roadworthy inspection) So disregarding the shaken, my regular outgoings for 'car expenses' were 446,000 yen (A$5,247) a year not including maintenance and modifications OR TOLL. Highway tolls can blow that figure out considerably. I also said 6,000 yen/fortnight for fuel as I didn't drive so much after my mate Troy left Japan...

It a really old corner house, maybe 60+ years old, and thats the only space for a car on the 'block'... I say block but the whole house would be on a pad of say 8m x 10m

This is Itami Airport, Osakas northern Domestic terminal. Actually, it was Osakas old International terminal before Kansai International was built 10 years or so ago. Some driving shots, going down Route 43 (night) and Hanshin Kousoku Wangan-sen (Hanshin Bayside Expressway). It's not always that empty, but between speed camera locations you can average 150 - 180km/h (damn speed limiter!) if it's quiet.

Thanks mate Some more: Some pics of Sakura (cherry blossoms) I took earlier in the year around April or so. They only bloom like this (in this area - the blooming starts from Kyushu then moves north up throughuot Japan) for a week or two then look just like normal trees for the rest of the year... ... another streetscape. You see? Ricey car mods DO exist in Japan! It's a Mitsubishi Legnum.

My missus got a new laptop: I noticed that Japanese laptops have 'Characters' floating around the screen... you have to look after them. This one is called 'Para-chan' an it's a baby seal (boy). Here he's asking: "Have you been using the Schedule function?" Thats all for now

Random Umeda (Osaka) streetscapes... At first I thought C-West had gone under, but they're just refurbishing their Nishinomiya Service Garage. If you ever wondered what a SuperAutobacs garage looks like, well here it is... with my Silvia getting the front coilovers changed and big camber dialled in (and white AVS VS-6 wheels put back on)... ... went out into the parking lot while waiting and saw this:

Speaking of 'Engrish' check these out... Alloy wheel center caps: If you've been to Japan and you don't know Ka-ru Ojisan, you should be sent to bed without dinner! The Skyline ready to get loaded into a shipping container...

Hello... I've got bearly a week and a half left in Japan and I thought I might post up some real random stuff I've got pics from... nothing special but they may be of interest to some who might be REALLY bored at work/home whatever... My wife ordered some carboard boxes (called 'Dan-boh-ru' in Japanese...) and there was this 'Power Builder Bee Racing' piece of card under the plastic straps to protect the boxes from ripping etc... of all the places... A pic of the Moon and Venus at dusk in Ashiya, I took it a few days ago. Thats only a 3x zoom with a Canon IXY 500. I went to the Nanko street drifting a few weeks back and took this pic of SAU member 'Gojira's car... the R32 is at the back (no I didn't have a go at drifting). Japanese holiday 'Obon' fireworks on the Yodo river in Osaka. About 2 million people were along the river and surronding areas to watch that night. Taken about 3 weeks ago. Just some random 'Engrish' written on a CD box...

I know... it's gonna be almost like reverse culture shock Don't get me wrong, theres shipping and a profit margin thats gotta be added onto goods sold in AU, but I've been scratching my head ALOT lately the more I check out the SAU state forums... I mean $1,200 for a Japanese no-name cat back exhaust? $900 for shitty used Tein coil overs? Now this $35,000 R34 4 door? Hmmmmm...
