  1. Stupidest thing I ever did ... went to Phillip Island for the MotoGP, and did a nice burnout with the bike for the crowd ... a few times over a few nights actually. Silly me didn't think about being able to ride it back home ... and couldn't get another fitted by any shop around that time of year. Rode bike back home and got as far as 30km outside Bordertown before the tyre blew. It made for an exciting moment having a blow out at over 110kph.
  2. Do you trust every person you speak to over the phone? If you're after the biggest balls bike, then learn on a 250cc then get a 1000cc when you're allowed to. ... and lots of protective apparel I spent 12 years on 250s. They're fun and very good on fuel. Out at Mallala, I'm faster on a 250 than most 'street' riders are on 1000cc sportsbikes. Plus it was holding the bigger bikes off at Phillip Island. Its how you ride, not what you ride. 250s are bloody fast thru turns when you know how.
  3. Nothing is worth the paper its written on anymore. But I'm going to contact the CAMS office and find a bit more info. I might even start with Cafe Racers and mock up a form like theirs. I'll get my MA competitors log book out and find out more. Once I know liability issues are sorted, then I'll see if we can 'borrow' an airstrip for a day. Client of ours has an airstrip down at Goolwa way ... see if I can invite him out to lunch for a chat. He'd wanna be assured we have insurance for the day, and not rely on him being liable.
  4. Now theres a thought ... Why don't we hire out an air strip for some drag racing? Cars and Bikes to make it economical. I could check out whats involved with items like disclaimers and insurances etc.
  5. Well he had a 1 in 4 chance What an idiot!

Don't think he does powdercoating ... not that I was aware he had the equipment. Looked at that link, the map is slightly incorrect. His 'shed' is at the right hand bend of Chapman Road on the left ... furthest shed in the corner of the lot. There is a chroming specialist next door to him. One stop shop
  7. The trick was that the paper/letter would be stuck to the back window. So you'd be out the car at the rear of it, when the thief nicks it. If you see any note attached to your car, deal with it later. Or continue to walk past your car is if its not yours, but remove the note on the way thru, screw it up and toss it. Then see if anyone comes out of a hiding spot within the next minute or so.
  8. Under the LAMS program, you can ride a larger bike ... but it won't get you more power. Read this: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyre...January2009.pdf That should get you started. When you're ready to book for your Learner course, see Transport SA or Services SA.
  9. Afraid I must agree there. Must have good grip for all occasions! I wouldn't be complaining about a $24.50 charge either. Thats minor ... not even half a tank of fuel.

Daniel Stone at Hackham is fair priced and he does an excellent job. He's done jobs on my cars Yes, he's an old riding buddy of mine, so I'm a bit biased anyway
  11. Here's a quote for Bush: "You're a f**king idiot!"
  12. Damn those old KX80s were a screamer weren't they? I had one too and loved it ... until my mate crashed the f**king thing I had a YZ80 before that, but the KX was tougher. I now get around on dirt with a custom built DHZ pitbike (all the better bits) which I assembled myself with a 140cc motor. All my mates bought ebay bikes and don't run no more. I've crashed mine doing stupid things and it still runs brilliantly.
  13. OMG ... Pete has turned into an caravan touring old man! Would you like some tea with your scones while you watch the campers roll by?
  14. Realistic organised street race is: Entry fee - one tank of fuel and a knob on ya forehead Prize - speeding ticket, loss of licence, car impounded, butt of all jokes for the next month ... but you could always go to ns.com for sympathy and start a cop hating posse.
  15. OMG
  16. I wouldn't be complaining with that.
  17. Spent shit loads on my TLR. I stopped counting the $ long ago. The exhaust system alone was $3K for titanium Yoshimura race system! Nearly $3K for the brake upgrade! Suspension? ... won't go there. I've spent $2K for the Ohlins shock on the Brutale, and a further $2K in carbon and crash protection. Brutale will be up for sale next month. Anyone got $18K to spend? I'm basically getting nothing back on the upgrades/mods.
  18. I'll take it if it does indeed fit a Stagea! I'm in the Regency Park area. Can meet you if needs.
  19. I'll take it if it does indeed fit a Stagea!
  20. Honda CBR250R "baby blade" Kawasaki ZXR250 "baby ninja" They're good bikes if you like the sporty looking models. You'll need to apply to sit thru the learners course thru Transport SA/Services SA. And for God's sake, get some decent protective clothing if you're going to be riding. I'm seeing endless twats this summer in nothing but t-shirts and shorts
  21. Going on my lunchbreak now to get the silver Stagea registered with SA plates at the city office. Next month, the black Stagea comes off the road for some body work and respray. Still waiting for my front bar from Viva.
  22. Were they the trophies?
  23. Bait car? Look for hidden cameras!
  24. Thats what he gets for posting in an SA thread
