That is an answer that has no measure. Because it has no tangible answer is another reason why the Government won't invest in it. Pour money into a hospital and you know lives will be saved, even tho this too is unmeasurable. So ... there is no one straight answer for this matter. Makes for good debate tho

Good news: sold my GSXR race bike last night for cash $$$. Now I gotta find another race bike. Bad news: a riding mate crashed last night up top of Greenhill Road going to Lofty. We just came down that road and I recommended we take another route to Windy, as the roads were covered in shit, but half the guys wanted to go back the way we came. He lost the front end and hit a guard rail. Bike is totalled, and he is banged up a fair bit with an obvious broken collarbone and last I heard, they were doing xrays to check for further injuries. Good news: I didn't crash!

But the safest speed zones were 65-95kph areas. Single vehicle crashes account for nearly half of fatalities! Wonder why the cops are cracking down on hoons in 60kph areas But wait! There's more ... Total registered vehicles in SA in 2006 were 919,000 and 3,404,000 for NSW. SA fatalities 148 / Total registered vehicles 919,000 = 0.0161% chance of being killed NSW fatalities 508 / Total registered vehicles 3,404,000 = 0.01492% chance of being killed So per capita of road registered vehicles, SA is at a higher risk of fatal crashes than NSW.

Running with the trend ... 501 x 1.4% = 7 defectable vehicles that were never identified. Adelaide has (142 + 25) x 0.6% = 1.002 So only 1 possible vehicle that was defectable in a fatal crash (and that includes motorcycles also). So compared to NSW (and other states) its saying defectable vehicles contribute less to fatal accidents. Look at it another way (using SA and NSW only, all fatalities): NSW (240 + 501) x 1.4% = 10.4 SA (142 + 25) x 0.6% = 1.0 Thats prob grounds for SAPOL to argue that mod plates don't make a difference. But this report was back in 2000 anyway. Thats what's provided in the report anyway. I'm looking for the raw data, so I can crunch my own numbers! Also looking for data on "modified" vehicles contributing to crashes.

Found this during my search. Its a report from 2000, but still interesting: So 0.6% of fatal crashes were the result of a defectable vehicle.

Are there numbers to prove imports are being picked on? In the end its all hearsay and stats. Didn't you know SAU cruises are not on!

They invented the V8 supercars to keep the GTR out. Having your arses whipped and handed to you 3 years in a row does that to the Holden-Ford community. Throw a GTR in the ring today and it'll still whoop them.

I dunno. I like a good thrashing around Mallala ... but I also love my road trips. Can do Adelaide - Phillip Island without thinking about it (done it 10 times now) ... either riding to music or talking the trip away with passengers. I've also done the Sydney-Wagga-Adelaide trip twice now, with Canberra thrown in too. Its easy for me to just hit the road, with the amount of times I travel per year.

Interested. Are the series 1 RB25DET coilpacks the same as the series 2 Neo motors?

I never was. I had the option of having my Stagea delivered to my door for free, but I chose to fly to Sydney and drive it back, stopping by friends in Wagga, for a bit of a road trip.
